- Here's 5 reasons to NOT ride a motorcycle! If you ride, I bet you can guess reason number 1...
I love riding motorcycles. It's exhilarating, therapeutic, freedom, and adrenaline pumping fun on two wheels. BUT... as with many things, it's risky, and it can be dangerous.

Talking about maturity followed with "Rev bomb!!" lol. great points on all accounts. Look forward to more
Haha cagers sounds like a teen post apocalyptic gang, where are my tunnel snakes at
Lol
Couldn't agree more about the gear. Scares me like crazy, and it should. Protect thy self peeps 🤘
boots and pants and boots and pants and boots and pants
Gloves and boots and a beefy jacket
Oh my, I can beatbox now. Thaaanks!
I'm out the demographic, im 16😂 but i never wanted a sportbike, I've always been in love with cruisers cause of how laid back and chill they are. After watching this makes me want to buy a bike more tbh. I personally think im ready for the responsibility for a motorcycle and the responsibility.
I've always wanted a dual sport. Not really one for going fast. Pretty sure my parents will disown me if I get one though.
Yeah, i've wanted a motorcycle since i was like 14, so at 17 i decided to get a job and just buy one. I got i 09 ninja 250 and i can confirm it is probably the best thing i've ever done and you need to do it.
Manraj Chinjar how'd u convince your parents to let u have a bike?
@@dreamsteal4773 that's my problem currently
just like other girls a lot of parents refuse to let their kids ride motorcycles, the thing that worked for me was earning my parents trust and showing them that i could be responsible and promising them that i would never drink and ride and stuff like that, i was lucky and they came around to it by the time i was legally old enough to get my license, i know pll that are not so lucky though and you might have to wait untill you are 18, then even if your parents still dont want you to ride, they cant legally stop you since you would be considered an adult by then.
I hope you can convince them though its the best thing i have ever done, but if not just hold out untill your 18 :)
Excellent vid. Way back in my 20s a dude I knew hit the pavement, and ended up with a skinned foot - maybe the most valuable lesson I think I ever learned. But the dark side of riding is something we all have to learn how to deal with - and if you're lucky, you end up still riding with white hair like mine. Keep on with the excellent vids, and stay safe bro.
No helmet? No ride on my bike.
I'm a 16 year Daytona area firefighter, and a firm believer in helmets
Great video. Summer in Az. Makes it tough to not squid, I see people in shorts, flip flops, wife beaters or no shirts, maybe a helmet or maybe not.
To each there own.
Dress for the crash not the ride.
Revelation Disciples I agree I live in north Glendale and I just seen a dude in shorts the other day ... no thanks lol
I ride in Phoenix, trust me it’s actually cooler if you wear a mesh jacket. It creates an evaporative effect. If you do not wear a jacket it just vaporizes the sweat off you and you won’t cool down.
I live in southern indiana. Up here, the amount of sqids up here is compareable to seat belt useage in 1970. (In other words, almost nobody wears a helmet here.)
no motorcycle rider yet, I have registered for an MSF class and want to start rideing by the end of the year.
got dinner at 12 minutes... a minute later... regretted mixing Blockhead and food :P
I'm an RN and those pics were gruesome to the max... effective though.
It's actually funny, I'm currently in the process of getting my licence, and came across your videos, and how you were saying to be vigilant about your surroundings, every video where you are riding I watch everything haha so no issues there, love your videos
I'm just on the way to stock up on protective gear for my new ride and myself. Upgrades. Responsibility is everything. Nice video.
Proud to say I'm older than your demographic and enjoy your vids immensely! With me ATGATT and while I've never been to Louisiana, Cali has some really sucky roads... especially here in the SF area. Thank for all you do! 🏍️🏍️
dude your videos have given me so much advice, i am beyond gratefull for the vids and "class"
So what's the next video? 105 reasons TO ride a motorcycle?
czcams.com/video/i8Ddjkb6JHA/video.html 😉
BLOCKHEAD LOL, must've missed it.
Love your vids Miss living in Orlando good times hope to be back soon!
Good one man! That staying in first at a stop is a good reminder! 🗽⚡️!
I really appreciated your advices, Excellent!
Just discovered your channel, and I must say that your videos are superb. Im just a beginner rider, I dont even have my own bike yet, and because im only 16, it will take me a long time to save for that Honda Shadow VT 125. And oh man, that with the roads is so true. I live in Czech republic, and roads here are regular nightmare. Anyway, keep up the good work and be safe on the roads!
That's why there are so many adventure bikes here. Czech highways might be consider off-road terrain in some states. :-D
Yeah that happened to my dad on his way to work, he stopped at a red light and a car smashed straight through him and he was thrown in the air like a rag doll.
Turns out the guy was looking down (probably on his phone) and diddn't see the red light.
He tried to escape the scene but a mob of bystanders pulled him out of the car and restrained him.
The docs told my mum that he could have been paralyzed from the neck down if he were hit on a different angle. Dad's fine now but drives a car daily.
Not sure what time of day that happened, but I will probably never ride at night unless it's side streets to the restaurant and back, never crossing a single street. Two rights round trip and you're home again. But yeah, you have a point. You can make every effort to be seen but idiots will be a danger every day.
love this channel man! good vid.
Hope to be purchasing my first bike soon.. your vids are very informative especially when it comes to us rookies. Thx for putting them out and taking the time to give advice. I’d definitely have to agree about the maturity thing! Not for nothing, but there are plenty of ignorant immature people on the road that can easily ruin it for a rider. I wouldn’t say I fear owning a motorcycle, but rather more RESPECT it. Happy riding and thanks again. 👍🏼
I am one of your subscribers who is quite a bit older. I have learned from my dirt bike racing years and road riding, nothing good will happen to someone not wearing appropriate gear. Gear will not stop all injuries, but you can be sure the injuries will be less severe. I have seen riders slide across the oncoming lane to gravel, slick wet man hole covers, the list of hazards is pretty large, but so far hasn't stopped me from riding, been doing it for 40 years and plan to continue.
You cannot be too careful when riding or driving, every danger is amplified when on a bike, be careful and enjoy!
Squids hahaha. In Michigan we call them Organ Donors
Organ donors is very common nickname even here in Europe. :-)
The ex calls it donorcycle!
The maturity and gear go hand in hand. I have a 7 year old son, and last season I really didn't take the possibility of having an accident seriously. Most of the the immature guys in their 20s feel that they are invincible and they feel they dont need to wear gear. I'm in my mid 20s and I feel I have done alot of growing up the past year, and riding gear I am going to take alot more seriously this riding season and hopefully many more seasons to come. Hopefully people take you seriously and who knows you may have saved a life making this video, and thanks for the great content as always.
good video dude, totally agree, be safe
Am New To Your Site and Probably One Of The Older Guys(am 62 and Retired and Single LOL ) Have Never Riden Motorcycle Except a Few Times Around The Block.....But am Taking Harleys Riding School(2.5 Days Long) To Get my Basics Down and Take it From There.....Love Your Attitude and Fun Videos.
About the gear thing: over here in NL it has been normal to wear proper gear for ages and legally mandatory for quite some years now. Totally recognize the other aspects though. Keep up the good work👍🖖
Nice vid, Orlando is getting busy, I like to stick to country roads or smaller towns in FL...big cities with traffic suck imo. Had never heard about that break pad lock, I gotta check that out.
13:15 dude, a little warning, next time, I was eating!
Now you know to wear gear 😅
Bro I found you last week and got instantly hooked! Specially since I'm also from Orlando 😁
nice video keep them coming
I’m in Florida also.. and I have 2 types of jackets. 1: a thick Honda leather jacket for the colder season. 2: a nylon motorcycle jacket for the summer time that has built in pads. That’s why I say a lords prayer before I even sit on my motorcycle, EVERYTIME!
Maybe we all need to say a prayer before setting off on our bikes.
I'm so so SO glad I didn't get a bike until my 30's. Feels weird saying that, but I'd be dead if I started really riding when I was in my teens and twenties.
All great points. Roads here in Louisiana do suck but there are some good ones and the good ones are worth the ride.
I love watching you ride around Orlando I’m always like I kno that place, hey I was just there lol
This video was calming. I haven't owned a cage in a decade and work as an auto claim investigator; this dude is pretty spot on to the struggle.
looking forward to the city riding tips..😎😎😎
Looking forward to your city driving tips.
A local high school football player in my area was killed in an accident while riding his motorcycle. He was hit by a drunk driver. He didn’t do anything wrong, and yet he still died. That’s the worst part about riding in my opinion. Obviously that can happen to you in a car as well, but it’s much less likely than on a bike
What are the handgrips you got? Can you share a link ? Thanks great video as always !
Rev bomb in the tunnel right after saying be mature lol that was good lol question though why don’t you back in to the parking spots
With the badass gear they got these days, you be lookin like a Sith Lord
Hey Blockhead!!!! U.K. subscriber here!!! What Camera do you use? An where abouts do you have it fixed?
Greetings from Wolverhampton, England.
Blockhead: You need to be mature.
Also Blockhead: REV BOMB!
I'm from Oregon but I'm spending the winter in Arizona so I can ride in a good weather. The roads are pretty bad down here. I brought a V-Strom and a scooter good choices I think the V-Strom takes bumps really well and the scooter is a blast to ride around town.
I live in Oregon as well and have signed up for a riders safety course to get my validation or whatever it’s called, any tips on a new rider in Oregon?
Nice Video helps e to realize i am not ready
I could not agree more about road conditions in Louisiana. Its beyond horrible. I live in Lafayette and I have changed my front end twice in 2 years
especially here in fl it can be nice and sunny and 5 min later be having a hurricane
@blockhead please make a video tutorial for taking corners!
You’re my Number 1 go to person for anything motorcycles. Hugs from Arizona
Riding in Chesapeake, Va the other day on my brand new xl883N. tire slipped out going around a corner that had a slick mud spot. Tank is dented. Handle bar bent. I was only going 15mph
Yo yo...wassaaaaaaapppppp hammie.....keep doin wat u doin bruhhh...✌
I'm staring off and I was gonna budget cut on my boots....
Thank You
Good list.
Thanks Blockhead!
Congrats on 120K
I’m currently 16 years old and I’m fascinated by motorcycles; particularly with Harley Davidson.
Harleys are cool but I recommend you practice with a Street 500.
Once you ride a motorcycle on the road you become much more aware of other drivers.
Hey blockhead! Can you please do some sort of review on cellphone holders for motorbikes or at least some reasons why you went for the one you have. I’m looking at getting one and don’t know which to get. Thanks!
Well I don’t have to worry about snow in Georgia but it’s hot especially with gear on
What mirrors are those? I would love to install some flips on my Breakout! Thanks
Probably have been asked this before but do you have a link to that bag on your handle bars?
I so love the narration. His verbage and explanation is so dead-on. I fux with this dude. 💪
Nice☺!
Quality riding can get really expensive y'all, especially when your looking for comfort, light weight, breathable, durable,
stylish (not looking like riding gear) and other things.
I'm fully geared when traveling over a half mile away. It's supposed to be all the time but I gained a little weight towards the end of 2020 and can't fit 😫 into 90% of gear owned. I did buy new riding pants that is bigger to fit my current size. It was on sale 80% off regular price. Braking a rule I set for myself before I go out doesn't settle well and leaving me guilty. Great gear is worth it because second chances isn't a guarantee. I value my skin and bones. I simply don't have the funds for avoidable injuries.
I've been watching crash videos before purchasing my toy and still currently watching ones I haven't seen here on CZcams.
Having great tires is awesome for most road conditions and practicing will help you out a lot 😀.
If you have AAA and have to do DMV stuff, you can go there to avoid the long wait times.
I really want to start riding a motorcycle but my parents and most of my family tell me it’s a bad idea. I’m really torn on making the decision.
Have you made a decision yet
I’m 17 and naked bikes and the dyna series is near the same insurance wise for example a 2017 triumph street triple is around 3004 and a 2017 street bob is like 3200 (basically if it has an R in its name it’ll be expensive for insurance)
I saw that skyline elevator van and said “Dude” out loud cause that’s most likely my stepfathers van 😂
I'm 59, enjoying your vids. Insurance you are dead on right. My insurance on my 2006 1500 Vulcan is 50.00/month, full coverage. My insurance company won't cover sport bikes.
Im 17 and just bought a 81 kz440 cafe racer custom and its awesome
What kinda of handlebar bag is that? looks nice and its not in your amazon gear page
Wait a minute, John Young Parkway? Blockhead! You in Florida my boy?!
yeahh i agree with your list definitely cagers are the biggest risk i had an SUV going 40mph in a 60 zone so i indicated to overtake and as i did he speeds up to keep me in the oncoming lane and flipped me off so i had to pull back so i didn't get hit by an oncoming car i tell you i wish everyone drove motorbikes its the best feeling ever the amount of respect you get from other bikers too! 👍 ride safe man! 🏍️
Yeah I have an r6 Yamaha and those things are so powerful, I get scared of mine sometimes.
Hey Block,
I too am guilty of not always wearing a jacket. But unless I’m just going around the block to test an adjustment or something I’m setting like clutch or throttle play then yes, I go in and get dressed for riding.
Off topic question for ya.
I’m shopping to replace my phone mount and have been looking at the one on your bike in this video.
Will it safety hold my iPhone 8Plus or is that basically only for the go-pro and light gps type devices?
I'm outside of that demographic on the high side but no worries, I be watching yo. #CZcamsStalking LOL
lol SAME.
@blockhead, you were on lb Mcleod turning left on John young lol.
I'd be a great motorcyclist.. I'm already ridiculously vigilant in my truck, because I have almost been killed by idiots on phones, twice. So I am very VERY vigilant as is. Getting my first bike here this month
hey man, i think it's time to make a "mods so far" for the dayna and 48. what do you think ?
I wanna see more of those videos with squids for more inspiration on wearing your gear
I remember when i was kid riding my yz80 in a parking lot at 13. well needless to say i pulled the bike up and went over-- hands are your first reaction to the ground an being i had no gloves on and at about 10 miles ph happened to take the first layer off my hands.Always wore gloves ever since.Put them gloves an helmet on riders, they can be your life saver.
If it scraped your hands off at 10mph wonder what could happen at 80mph.
@@dreamsteal4773 Or 160mph… like the real quids do it…
Thanks for making me wear my gear even more lol
Would a Ninja 400 be a good bike to start on? Power, safety, and reliability wise ?
Oh my. With them pictures, I think I am completely discouraged from buying a motorcycle. :(
Hey dude you havent done the city riding video yet.
Age 56...unsubscribed! LOL, love the vids. Keep it up! Dual vlog soon with the Mrs.?
Len Frame Do you mean Subscribed
so i shouldn't wear running shoes on a bike/scooter? are jeans good enough? like if i wore gloves, jacket, helmet and jeans with shoes is that fine? do you have a list of the gear you use or some good stuff you recommend and i can see if i can find it on amazon or w/e? thanks.
In my msf class I dropped the motorcycle from “ handbraking while going in a curve” during the drills, not the actual test.Anyways, I was only going 2 mph when I fell, and I had road rash on My knees and elbows! Funny thing was; I had on a long sleeve shirt, and blue jeans. So when the class was over and I got my endorsement, I checked my elbow and knee, and it was showing meat and bleeding!!
What do you think about having a Yamaha r3 as a first bike ?
"Self controOoOoOol" lolol. But yea. Louisiana, we always know when we hit our boarder.. cause there's an emotional shift, and need to apologize to your vehicle.
Can you even see out of those mirrors when your hands are on the bars?
@13:19 I had an accident on a bycicle. Gravel is like sandpaper to your knees, even at low speeds. Imagine that with 50 mph.
I know these things from riding a cycle and driving official races on it. Last time I flew from the bicycle was an endurance race over 140km and it took me off while having 87 km/h and i was surely 30m flying until I crashed down on 50 degree C asphalt. Adrenaline keeps you feeling good. 😉😂
13:30 thanks for the image was eatin my spaghetti ha never gonna get that image out
whoa... the pic wehere you see the bones in the foot was rough, then you see the pic of the foot totally shredded, omfg... though my question is - do you need to invest in riding denim? or is that a little overkill for most crusing around town and regular jeans will be fine. ??
I was hit from behind at a red light almost forty years ago. I’ve been in a wheelchair ever since. Doesn’t mean I don’t still love bikes but please wear your helmet. It saved my life.
OGC!! I used to shoot their. Sometimes I DO miss O Town. Weird. Never thought I would.
u r very alerted i like it
Blockhead out of curiosity what car did you have in your mid 20s since you said it was nice lol
I just went down cause some jerk pulled out in front of me and my gear saved me for sure
