- The Defiance is a checkers opening that has been around since the mid-19th century. It was popular then, and it's just as popular now, for its solid defensive structure and restrictive nature make it an essential opening for all players to master. I discuss the most restrictive variation within this opening, and I highly recommend spending some time to ensure you completely master it.

Thanks, Zaki -- yes, please let me know of your success in using the Defiance. It is used quite a bit at the highest level!
Thanks Ryan. Another good video.
Thanks, Johnny! I appreciate that!
Very instructive
Thank you! I hope you'll be able to use the Defiance in your games!
Excelente video Amigo ryan 👍 ... Estaba viendo el otro video que jugastes con alex y en verdad estubo super estupendo ... Porque cada movimiento desglosaban y hacian que pensaba el oponente en cada movimiento ...excelente clase 👏
Thank you very much my friend! I think it's really important to explain the "why" and reasons behind each move, and that's something I strive to do with this channel, whether it's collaborating with Alex (we'll have more content later this week) or in my solo videos such as this one. Your feedback means a lot, and I'm glad you are enjoying these videos!
Hi Ryan thanks again for your instructions! Where can I find a checkers set like that one? Thanks and good game!!
Hi Ricardo! You can find a very similar board at the ACF store on usacheckers.com. Thanks as always for your comments!
22-18! You sharing my online noob swatter!
Pulling my moves off kurnik I see
@@spidaman0112 Ha, I'm glad to see you like this 22-18 move, too. I think it's more restrictive / better than 24-20.
@@azcheckers no idea why one day I started playing it across the board and have kept doing it.
@@spidaman0112 Good intuition -- you are a solid, natural player!
@@azcheckers you should advertise tournaments btw
Please shout-out Yolem Vibes tv. It's all about checkers board games. Thank you
I defy you? No thanks Fife it is
Maybe a little easier now, but back in the 19th Century, no thanks!
