Whoever decided that Young Sheldon didn't need an audience/laugh track was a Sheldon-level genius.
I agree, i prefer young sheldon to big bang because it feels less fake as a result of this change
@@samlincoln1 I specifically hate big bang for that one reason, they have funny moments but the laugh track makes me not want to laugh along

I just realized that Georgie not only knocked up a girl older than him and stepped up to be a dad, but also stepped up to take care of his mom and siblings after his own dad died. And still managed to build a successful tire business. The man's a fucking machine.
Well, even at his young age, he's always the responsible one.

Ohh I assumed the siblings became a thing due to young sheldon not the other way around. They did do a pretty good job.
@@phillnyetheplaylistguy3759I agree that the characterisations of the siblings as we see them in TBBT was inspired by YS, but around the first time we met Mary Cooper in TBBT (before YS began airing), she mentioned “two other children who were dumb as soup”. Obviously, they’re not dumb as soup, but my point is the existence of Sheldon’s two siblings was already evident.

I just love how Jerry O’Connell’s and Montana Jordan’s Georgies fit so seamlessly together. Two awesome comedic actors.
Agreed!
Gotta appreciate a big brother like Georgie. He became the man of the house and very successful in the tire industry.
Georgie became a man. Sheldon remained a boy.
@@karenk2409 Sums it up perfectly.
George has 4 stores that employs probably dozens of people, he’s done more with his life than Sheldon has.
Wouldn't go that far. He's a very successful businessman, Sheldon is a top physicist who went on to win a Nobel Prize. Putting aside the fact that his discovery is as fictional as he is, advancing our collective understanding of the world around us is definitely doing more with your life than owning a store chain.
Edit: If you think you have some really clever counter arguments, please be aware of the following.
A: No, you don't.
B: Whatever you're thinking of saying, it has already been said *repeatedly* throughout this over 200 comments long chain.
Both are successful, one is a multi millionaire the other wins Nobel Prize. But if I were to choose one I'd go with millionaire any day lol
No sheldon got a nobel prize, they have both done stuff which made them successful
Leonard said that they had "passed three of these stores on the way there". It was noted in the show that Dr. Tire is the most successful chain in Texas. So, one would assume there are a very large number stores across the state, and with George owning all of them and being very wealthy.
Sheldon earns alot than george though.
In a way,Georgie was more successful and deserves more respect given the fact how he took care of his full family including Sheldon when his father died. It's annoying to see Sheldon having the audacity to call him a loser
@Ban this youtube Why is this such a negative but really good and underrated comment.
Frankly, I think Sheldon's the loser.
@@azazelgrigori9244 watch the show, by the end of the episode he apologizes to Georgie.
As Benadette said, "His part of the brain that should think about that is getting a wedgie from the rest of his brain".
Hehehe
Sheldon lacks empathy and sympathy and very analytical about what he only cares. It so happen that he based his things on what he read in books and other materials... Reality is always a struggle for him.
I think a thing everyone misses about Sheldon and the story writers did a good job hiding it with his appeared arrogance.
Is its a social awkwardness attributed with his high intelligence. From his perspective everyone is a drooling moron while he cant even manage the simple mundane social tasks like everyone else.
Quite literally sheldons brain is just not capable of thinking on standard social interaction levels, but throw a physics problem in front of him and he will hammer it out.
I have to say how really great the casting was for Young Sheldon to mirror perfectly the grown characters. Even Georgie is perfect.
like literally young and old georgie have the same exact face 😭
Georgie feeling the tyre and the other two watching is the best scene in this show
I felt angry at this scene where Sheldon says his brother a loser while Georgie has build an empire on his own talent. Sheldon compares everyone According to his domain (science) and levels them, which is obviously wrong.
Measure those by the challenges they face and overcome.
In real life it’s the same. How many art students get told they HAVE to take a science class but science students don’t get told they HAVE to take an art class? How many treat with respect the woman who manages an office while treating with disrespect the woman who manages a home?
I actually found it way too direct and actually out of character for Sheldon. Something went wrong with the writing team that day.
Well, sheldon is an asshole. Allways been allways will be.
Sheldon has an untreated personality disorder.
Georgie is the epitome of just because you aren't smart doesn't mean you're dumb.

As an academic myself, soon to be Dr. I really admire people like Georgie. It's no joke choosing to become an entrepreneur and actually becoming massively successful. Academia is safe but carving your own path in the business world is incredibly impressive and something I could never do.
He used his hands and charisma to his advantage. Sheldon simply had his brain though I feel somehow he had to have his own charisma simply because he did draw people to him. While missy I feel like she’s adapt in being social and sorta manipulating people.

The song Unchained Melody came out in 1955 and was covered many times. The most famous version was by Righteous Brothers released in 1965. That version had a huge comeback in 1990's when it was used in the romantic pottery making scene of the hit movie Ghost with Demi Moore & Patrick Swayze and was played at countless weddings since. They sure do a good job of finding actors that look like their older or younger representation
How'd TBBT get an actor who looks enough like an Older version of the Teenager who portrays him in this show so well?!!
In the case of Sheldon's mom, the one who plays his mother in Young Sheldon is actually the real life daughter of the woman who plays his mother in TBBT.

Young georgie came first… adult georgie came at a later episode of tbbt
Glad that Georgie is successful but sad to see relationship between these brothers never improved over the years
It did improve. They're not your loving affectionate brothers cause their Texans. Georgie had issues with. Sheldon as he was treated beyond special, which annoyed him. Then after their father died and he stepped up to be the man in the household. He protected Sheldon from all the issues so that he could pursue his schoolastic career. As it been shown in the big bang theory, Sheldon would quit school to help his family, even if it meant putting his career on hold. Georgie as the older brother cared for him and took the L and struggled further to maintain stability in the family. That's why, when Sheldon apologized to him on their wedding; Georgie accepted it. Because Sheldon wouldn't do anything malicious or manipulative, his to straight forward with his emotions. Sheldon through out the series came to realize that people around him care for him but that he acknowledges that he can oblivious and hurtful without meaning to.
I do believe they had a great sibling relationship for how things were
Did you watch the show? It improved but as adults
they actually PATCHED things up.

Young Sheldon does a good job of setting up his character. He wasn't nearly as smart (book smart) as his brother but the kid had a strong work ethic so you can easily see why he ended up owning his own business.

Sheldon appreciated his brother near the end of the series when the reconciled and his brother told him how he always fixed everything and their mom told Sheldon stuff was OK to protect Sheldon. He was looking out for him all those years.
I wonder if Sheldon would have done the same for his family that Georgie did. Sheldon can't even get to his job without Leonard or one of the others to drive him. I doubt he would be capable of caring for the whole family when he can't function without everyone else taking care of him.
And Sheldon was an arrogant, self-absorbed brat.
He was the perfect actor to play Georgie grown up.
Georgie with the tire and geoge says i got goosebumps 😂😂
I really don't think it's a coincidence that Sheldon & Georgie's last name is Cooper. Georgie owns a tire store. Cooper Tire is an actual Tire business. I think the writers knew exactly what they were doing here.
Good point
That's a 10 year lead time on a tire joke. Maybe in the immediate lead up to introducing Georgie, but not at the series pilot back in 2007.
@@jamestarbet9608I think the writers maybe thought of it when deciding what type of business Georgie has.
"Actually that's always the case. Never patch, buy new."
He's got a gift and he'd rather not use it in favour of selling a few more tires.
To be fair, it’s HIS gift, and likely not something he could teach to the many employees he has at all of the stores he runs. Since he can’t personally work on everyone’s tires, new tires may be the better option more often than not. Also, it’s a lot more profitable.
This was a great clip!
Love the Coopers!
While watching Young Sheldon noticed that all the kids were smart in their own way.
Georgie was the quintesensual entrepeneur from the get go, and a bit too honest for his own good. Took working for a bad boss to reach his potential.
But what about Missy? I always found Missy was the emotional stable girl that Sheldon was lacking. She was wise beyond her years.
Agreed, but then she ended up with 3 kids and a divorced husband. I'd say of the 3 she's the worse off. A pity since I love little Missy
To me Missy always seemed like she was the actually inteligent one that should have been inteligent if she had gotten a chance and not just solely in the sense of being the emotionally stable one but other aspects of her personality. Then again I feel like people labeling what kind of smart they are sometimes has an opposite effect and deters people who would be good at pursueing academic and educational oppotunrities with the great ideas they have by having them not think that is the kind of smart they are
@@AnzuBrief yes but would it be a surprise. Missy was the empathetic one, who was mostly ignored. Even in this when the two neighbor's are talking about Georgie, how George sr. kind off drops off Missy to have any kind of genius potential, was a joke. But it also shows the unfairness Missy had to deal with growing up. And being empathetic she could adjust for decades,. But such imbalance in family support can show up later in life and that's what likely happened to Missy. There another episode with the psychologists where Missy's potential and ability to read people and their emotions is seen and she's able to do so because she's the one who's usually ignored by all, over her brother's. So no wonder she had a divorce likely with someone who was similar to her brothers and father, because people usually end up marrying what they find familiar. But later on had to divorce such a person as well, if she hadn't addressed by then on how to work through the toxic patterns that were caused by her male role models from her life. I know these two shows are comedies, but they show real life snippets of what happens to men and woman as they grow up. And your comments as well as my recent observations led me to talk about the lost potential of what happens to women, even if they are educated in similar manner by their parents, they aren't always respected, adored or cared for in the same way. Would love a show on Missy, where she finally gets her genius moments, albiet later than Sheldon or Georgie. Imagine later on in life how much worse she would have felt given her life scenarios, and given the success of Sheldon and Georgie. But i am sure she would have tried to do better or be more balanced for her kids given her experience of imbalance seen with her parents raising her and her brothers.
@@spiritual_earthly_insights it's not just the male role models that were the problem. I thought she got married and had babies pretty young not because that's what she wanted but because that's what her mom expected

Thus, it was impressive if your car got 100,000 miles.
@@jackiechan_wtf4041 it's also a difference in cost of the vehicle and quality build though.
In 1960, a new truck cost about $3,000.( I verified this before posting. The average price was 2760) . Adjusting for inflation, That same truck today would cost about $16,000.
So do you want to be able to buy a new truck every 80 thousand miles that is a beater by a hundred and thirty thousand miles for $16,000, or do you want to truck as last 300,000 miles that cost $32,000.
This also meant that the used car market was flooded the cars. My first used car in 1976, cost me $200. That's about $650 in today's dollars. And it was a pretty decent 1964 Ford Fairlane.

"Oh my love" moment is my favorite part! Guy found what he loves!
I remember this episode in which we learn that his brother is a self made millionair (at least) even though it never was mentioned before.
Kinda was upsetting to see how sheldon looked down on him even though he is the "poor" weirdo in the family lol
The way Mary treated the other two kids just encouraged Sheldon's disdain for them. He saw how his mother didn't like her other two kids so his attitude toward was validated in his opinion.
The character of Herschel was just written out of the series in a rather dishonorable way. I wish the character had been given a more proper and friendlier way to leave the series. Him abandoning wife and kids was totally heartless, both from the character and the writer.
Really? Which episode did that happen in?
@@theoneitself season 3,I think
They sure could've done better, but his sudden exit was required to have George Sr. Cheat on his wife with a desperate Brenda Sparks..
There was only two way to get him off the show death or divorce. I can't really think of any other way. And reality is sometimes fathers are like that.
@@ArshLX12 makes sense,
But also i am sure the show writers are not being so consistent now.
The continuity error with the beer bottles... 🍺😉
Such an amazing resemblance between the 2 actors
Georgie was the who took care of the family after the death of their father.
Being orthdox Jewish, I was surprised to know that Hershel walker was a african american. Herschel actually means deer in Yiddish ( hersh) and lots of people, including my son, are called by the Yiddish transalation of Tzvi. Some are called Hershy, like my son, and some are called Hershel. This is the second time I am seeing this name in a non Jewish setting.
Many groups of African people claim ( and may be) of Jewish descent. Or maybe the parents just liked the name.
Love how the beer changes each scene lol
I like how in both shows the people who Sheldon views as less intelligent than himself aren't actually stupid. For example, Penny is really intelligent she was just terribly educated. However she has social skills and uses that in her job later in the show (bbt). Georgie is not stupid (as he notices that Sheldon and his personality are the opposite and uses Sheldon as a catalyst of what not to do and becomes a millionare) Nice way of looking at things. It shows that everyone is intelligent in their own way.
The continuity. Love it.
The beer bottles are changing their positions magically, after almost every cut🙊
As someone who is currently watching Young Sheldon before watching The big bang theory , I find this scene awesome
I remember first watching young Sheldon sitcom and despicing Georgie but I have had a change of heart . He is ok 🎉
