Wow. The ending had me in tears. My mother, cursed me, emotionally, mentally, physically messed me up. I was the black sheep out of my 4 sisters, and 2 brothers. Wasn't easy and I wish I had a moment like this to just be accepted and know I was loved.

I’ve come to see someone that is hurting deeply inside but puts up walls to keep people out. She’s been doing it for so long (sometime around 1981 when she cut off intimacy with her husband) that it became automatic behavior.

So Beverly is supposed to help people with mental disorders when she has no sympathy for anyone even her child.
Yeah. Uh. Facts don't need sympathy. She's an analysis, she gives mental health diagnosis' she doesn't give therapy as much as she has sessions to observe behavior to give a diagnosis and then creates a treatment plan based on that diagnosis.
Her job is actually studying those mental disorders. She doesn't care about how these things hurt people because finds them fascinating.

I found it irony that lots of people hate Leonard’s mother because of her insensitivity. But she’s identical to Sheldon. And Sheldon’s behaviour of lack of humility, empathy and toleration are somehow all forgivable. Of course Leonard did have a perfect childhood, still much much better materially, emotionally. Neither his parents are abusive or alcoholic.

That last moment where Leonard was hugged by his Mum was emotional but was so much more when Leonard stood up to make the hug more sincere. 🥹

The last scene shows Beverly hugging Leonard but if the scene played a little more it would have shown Leonard slightly pulling away cause he didn't want any awkwardness should Beverly have pulled away first, but instead Beverly pulls Leonard in for a loving & meaningful hug Leonard probably yearned for all his life.
Because of how Leonard had matured as a person, she broke for the first in his life.
It’s hard to say when Beverly had last made herself genuinely (and emotionally) vulnerable to another human being.

I don't see how Sheldons mom as portrayed in TBBT and YS are reconcilable as the same person. Namely that TBBT implies that she was a very strict mother who was willing to use corporal punishment, while in YS she was portrayed as coddling and let him get away with anything.

When Beverley hugged Leonard at the end, I thought that I was gonna cry myself. That moment was intense with Leonard forgiving his mother.
Many years ago i became friends with 3 guys like sheldon,howard and leonard i met them while i was studing law in second year while they were at the same year studying physics and chemistry the 3 of them.I finished law school ,never wanted to be a lawyer and became a lumberjack.I am 6”7 tall.My friends were/are very short.They are physists and chemists.They have been my friends for 30 years.Best friends ever,we played board games all together,they were strange ,and i had to defend them many many many many times during the years…..But,they were/are/will be my best and sincerest friends ever….Why? Because an innocent mind is always the sincerest,and my friends are like this…..An advice for you all people,do not judge others by their looks,judge they by their character,integrity,and sincerity

Yes it is. They have a picture of her in the living room to honor her.
They had the character die when the actress died. They hadn't planned on the character's death but decided that was better than either recasting or just dropping the character.
