I remember shortly after I graduated HS in 07 I saw a drum corps competition on tv. I loved the Blue Devil's personally.

Stoked you fired this out! Grew up around DCI from 1979-2000. My mother ran a show in NY. Spent countless hours around drumlines as a kid and teenager and traveled to shows all over. Not try wear the Cavs out but give the 1993 snare break a go! Thats a great one! Good Luck love the channel so far
Found this an old audition packet of theirs from 2009. Completely forgot about it but after seeing this I'm excited to learn it.

I love that you think 08 is the good "OLD" days. I was loving CAVS back in early 90s. '08 seems like just a few years ago. Since you're Phantom, watch 1989 and 1990 Phantom drum solos. This were the Marty Hurley lines. They had a loose style where they slurred rolls. Also, 1987 Phantom is cool too. Totally different style than today's corps.

Hello! I love these videos because I was in marching band in high school but I played the clarinet. I was curious what the difference between L, l, R, and r are? Is it to show how hard to make the beat? I can tell it’s left hand and right hand but the upper and lower case are what I’m curious about. Thanks!
Upper case are for accents, lower case for taps (unaccented). Gives us less intelligent drummers a way to understand the stickings haha

I was a cavalier fan in the 90s. I don't know why I didn't try out for them. I tried out for Madison Scouts instead. And almost made it. The first base drummer was trying out for snare the coaches liked me so much they said I had the spot if the guy made snare. Well.... Long story short he didn't and went back to first base drum and I was assd out . This was in the late 90s

Yeah the practice pad is for noise reduction while practicing or learning. his is sort of awkward because it's like the shape of a cutting board I guess, but he has a circle one under it.
