A long way from the middle of the 1960s, when McCormick wrote most of the Cavaliers drum parts. Even I could play them, then.
But this... This is on a whole new level of phraseology combined with tricks. Not to mention the technological advances in drums, even the heads. Phenomenal

Meshuggah is more like hereta over 4/4 as 32nd notes, this I hear as more like triplet heretas or more like 32nd note heretas in 6/8 or 6/16 (3/8?)

Brother, I love your style. You are one of the best snare drummers I've heard. I played snare from 5 yrs old to my junior year in high school. Your take on the snare break in drumline is great. I do agree that Morris Brown won that battle. Lol. Anyway, have you checked out EMCproductions? It was a year ago but he played both sides of that battle. Every part. Snare, all the bass drums, symbols, tennors all parts. Even deleted scenes. He did an amazing job of it to. Check it out. I was impressed. I think you will be also. I'm not taking anything away from you. You are awesome brother. Keep the videos coming brother. PEACE ✌

At some point drumlines need to bring back musicality and groove rather than just “doing a lot of math”. That break was just annoying.
Yeah absolutely, that’s how we feel too
But mathy drum breaks can groove just as well. Porque no los dos? Why not have both?
