I LOVED THIS so much! I was completely hooked to the point that my husband called me and I had to put down the phone so that I could continue watching. I remember when me and my husband were first together and put on a film, not knowing that it was in a completely different language, so he was not only trying to describe what was happening, but trying to also quickly read the subtitles. It was awful and we turn it off within two minutes xx

As someone with a vision impairment, having still a lot of my vision despite that I still get asked a lot of these same or similar questions where people I'm with get spoken to instead of me or people assume things about me, I don't carry a canine but when people find out that I am visually impaired the amount of vision I have still doesn't matter and it can be very frustrating at times, so I don't think the amount of vision you have actually changes how people treat you I mean it definitely does to a degree but at the same time I can relate to a lot of what you're saying despite having more vision because some people on the Internet are just so nasty and also pretty dumb when it comes to certain things like VoiceOver, however I can also somewhat understand from some peoples point of view as I don't use voice over 24 seven, I do find it a little bit frustrating to use sometimes and tint to only turn it on when I need it and then turn it off when I don't and I found that you can do that using Siri just ask Siri to turn it on and then ask Siri to turn it off and that way you can have a bit more control over and you don't have to scroll through apps with it on all of the time especially if you still have the remainder of your vision or still have quite a good bit of it And only really need voice over for text messages or things like that, I also use speech to text which means that it's not always accurate to what I say which has resulted in some really funny messages to my family or even when I'm on dating apps because it doesn't always quite pick up when I'm saying even with CZcams comments and that can be frustrating but also kind of funny, I think things like voice or speech to text are so helpful for blind and visually impaired people because it allows us to be way more independent and the fact that some people still don't realise these things exist, like for example texting was invented for death people because they couldn't use cell phones and I've even made videos on there in the past where it's like so many of the things we use on a daily basis were made for disabled people It's all about the social model of disability and like how much stuff has actually been created for us, there is still a long way to go but the fact that voice over exists and the fact that speech to text now exists should mean that nobody should ask how are you able to write a comment you know because the answer should be so obvious and it's so funny that some people still don't know, even with those lips on the side of the road that people use for prams and pushchairs those are for wheelchair users it's just funny things like that, things people use every day that they just don't know we created for disability purposes.

That's so true! We have touch screen because an IT guy invented it due to having a broken arm! He was on team apple many years ago.

The statement “When the robot overloads take over…” is dripping with cynicism and I love it! Thanks for another great episode, I love the humor you shared with your guests.

also I'm sighted but I get turning your eyes off. I hate wearing my glasses when I'm reading or on the computer so I don't wear them when I'm at home unless I'm watching tv with subtitles. I don't bother putting them back on when I'm just walking the dogs and I just "turn off" my distance sight so I don't get a headache. It does occasionally lead to funny situations, like the time I couldn't figure out why this black cat kept following us only for it to catch up and turn out to be a stray chihuahua, who 8 years later is currently on my lap

Hi all. I have optic nerve atrophy. Lost 90% when i was 2 and a half. I have 10% in my right and less than 1% in the left. I always use my right eye and my left eye , i sort of not turn off but ignore. The sight in that eye is blurry and is unusable unless i cover my right eye. My left eye is also lazy so it rolls all the way to the left.
I always explain my sight as : i can see what everyone see in my right eye but it has to be close up. I see colours , unless it's shades so luminous yellows sometimes look lime green or some dark blues look like dark violet purple etc. I also have light sensitivity and sensitivity with the sun. I describe it like my eyes are like a round bowl that been dropped into million pieces and then attempted to be put together , the light or sun bounces off it /reflects off it and hurts my eyes. Some lights are ok like the orange car lights and some house lights.
I am also night blind. So, at night i can't see colours : it all looks black, white, grey unless a street light hits a car etc. Then at some point i can't see anything at all excepts street lights. I use a hi-vise when out in the dark walking.
I get my eyes tested every year. I can't wear glasses so they need to check if anythings changed. I can't see things too far or too close up. They have said i could lose my remaining sight at any point which will be hard if it does happen as i'm mostly independent so like you lucy i would have to essentially relearn everything.
I hate using my cane as i find no-one pays attention to it, don't know what it is or just don't care. I did apply for a guide dog but due to having a plethora of disabilities: i was refused as it's not fair on the dog. I was told to maybe look at a service dog instead that can help with my sight/hearing/migraines etc.
Anyway, i struggle with dating. Many judge by looks and not on personality. Too many are either afraid to interact or are vehemently hateful.
I can read braille and do it. Most don't know what it is so i use text or my doctors script handwriting instead lol. I want to teach braille as a career while running my own gift store / home business. Great video. Xx

I got a small wholesome story for you, at my work a while back I met an older gentleman, who went blind/severely visually impaired, and he met his lovely wife in braille class, she was his teacher and was born completely blind and fell in love with braille and went on to learn it so well to be able to reach it, very very cute to hear.
