I felt so silly cleaning my glasses everyday before I sleep with the lens cloth and put them back in the case and my pls make fun of me due to me being extra careful about them. Glad I got half that part right. Asked the provider "Just with the cloth" and they told me yes. My question is a weird one.... "What if use Manwipes to wipe my glasses instead of the cloth?"

    Fairly new Subscriber here. Enjoying your videos. This question is not related to this specific video, so if you don't respond, I understand. I was wondering if you could speak on ordering prescription glasses through the internet? I see so many channels reviewing these sites and raving about their experience, or they're disappointed/angry about it. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground with their experiences. I've looked at a number of the websites, and it looks like you can spend as little or as much as you want, for glasses from these places. My question is this, these places require different information from each other, whenever you are shopping for glasses with them. One thing I noticed, is if you are needing progressive, bifocals or trifocals, most of them don't even require a Segment Height measurement. Isn't that pretty much crucial information if you are getting those types of lenses/frames? I noticed my local eye doctor, who only does exams, no glasses, doesn't include this info in the prescription, because he can't, because he has no idea what size/kind of frame you'll be getting through whoever you decide to go through. Sorry for rambling, but I just need to know if that Segment Height is important, because I've been wearing Progressives for years, and I honestly haven't been able to see much of anything out of my last 2 pair of glasses. I have bad Astigmatism too,and I just want to be able to get some glasses that I can see out of. I live in Texas, and you'd think I'd be able to find a pair of glasses here, but so far, I haven't . That's why I went looking online, and so far, I'm at a total loss which way to go to get glasses that I can see out of. Again, my apologies, for such a lengthy comment. I like your channel because it's extremely informative, and you kinda talk like I do, so you're very relatable to me. :)

      😁 silent lurker got it. Welcome 😂. So I did get into this topic on another video... but it was more of a brief rant on how badly some opticians to at measuring this and I couldn't begin to tell you which progressive video that was 😅. There is a ridiculously simple way to calculate a rough estimation for a fitting height (nomenclature, proper term for segment height when referring to PAL lenses). I use this for remote customers as well, and honestly.... it "CAN" be more accurate than in person, if not as precise. An untrained measure is often best corrected using this method as well. Now, all that said, I don't know whether these sites are using this, or applying some algorithm that takes into account bridge design (unlikely). In my case, if I can see one frame on... thats the only reference I need because I can estimate where different bridge designs will sit on a nose based on the first pair. 🙃. I've spent a few years developing that as a personal skill, and tested it time and time again to great success ❤️‍🔥.

    Whats the best frame material for trivex lenses metal or plastic?

    • @ThatGlassesGuy03
      @ThatGlassesGuy03  Před rokem

      There’s a lot more to it than that. How the bevel is made in the frame matters more to determine if it’s a good glass candidate than the material it’s in due to the bevel glass is required to be made with.
      Trivex is rather universal, makes no difference what it’s mounted in if sizes and set properly.

    So I have a problem, so I got a new pair and my script changed very little almost none at all the sphere changed like 0.1 in 1 eye only. But there something wrong I've worn glasses my whole life and I have never had a problem adjusting to new glasses usually I love a new pair I always compare it to watching Blu-ray for the first time every time. With this new pair I feel like I can't focus and like your moving the whole picture and frame if that makes sense. now there are only 2 differences between my new and old 1 is a new Nike flex frame witch most of mine are stiff frames and they dilated my eye's before giving me my 1 or 2 portion of the test witch I have never had done like that before I told the Dr I couldn't focus right with my eye's like that now I have a pair of glasses that make me motion sick and make things look further away I even pulled a pair of glasses from 7 years ago and I was able to see just fine, same with the ones I just replaced. so my question is is it possible my prescription is wrong or a problem with my frames ?

    • @ThatGlassesGuy03
      @ThatGlassesGuy03  Před 2 lety

      There are actually alot of variables here, and without knowing more of what was going on I'm just going to stay out of it. I would recommend addressing these issues with your doctor. It could be a wrong RX, it could be your RX has been wrong for years and he's now correcting that, which will make adaptation much harder and longer, but overall make the eyes much more comfortable in the long term :) Give them a call, let them know something feels off. I'm sure they'll happily address your concerns with what they've seen in their exams :)

    • @ThatGlassesGuy03
      @ThatGlassesGuy03  Před 9 měsíci

      Nothing wrong with that cleaning method! Depends on the environment but I wouldn’t really call that super normal. Though it’s been a while since I’ve worked with the lower tier Zeiss packages so I’m not sure the level of scratch resistance that costing should have, but if you’re not cleaning the lenses dry or rubbing them there should be little to no scratches appearing in a month unless you’re in a crazy dusty environment.

      and the crazy thing is, im not in a crazy dusty environment, I spend most of my time indoors in front of my computer.

Thats why it drives me crazy to find out that theres still scratches on it.

    I hope you could answer my question. I have the problem that I get peripheral distortion with my glasses. I bought two pairs online and both had it so I was fed up and went to an actual optician and paid a lot more money to receive better glasses, but unfortunately these also have it. My optician doesn't know why this is happening and it frustrates me because who else should know? :( wearing them full time didn't help, I had my online glasses for 3 years and even though I sometimes wear contacts, there have been periods where I exclusively wore glasses and no contacts and my brain didn't get used to it, the distortion around the edges is still there. I also get those strange yellow/blue coloured edges on high contrast images...
