Now that particular situation does sound like a nightmare to try to adjust. In cases like that I usually recommend trying to get the bulk of your adjusting experience done on days off. I.e. if you can for the first time put them on first thing in the morning of your day off and wear through from then. Little easier time.

@ThatGlassesGuy03 I've got the XL green ! And i returned original immediately, the green lenses have mixed green and blue mirror, and the vision has a little bit cooler colors that i enjoy... so if original fit your face XL will too ..

I won’t get into the debate over Oakley being good quality or not, but lenses have a factory applied coating meant for protecting the lenses in the lab and for edging only. These need to be cleaned off with more aggressive cleaner and should be done before handing off to the customer. There’s a possibility this was missed, in this case swing back by where you got the glasses and explain what’s going on. Alternatively you can clean with medical grade alcohol but keep it away from the frame itself and consider this a one time type of cleaning. 🥂

Really depends on overall facial structure and fit. Centration and small lens size are key but can easily be done in either metal or plastic. Add to that plastics can have adjustable nose pads added if needed and it’s a whole other ball game.

It all depends on the person, some people don't have nose bridges and need metal nosepads to conform to their face. If you have a high prescription, just remember that the bigger the frame, the thicker the lense. I would suggest a small frame and high index 1.67 or 1.74 depending on which is available.

With. Metal rim it should be unscrewed at the eyewire screw (usually near the hinge) and then screwed back together with the lens held in place…. But hey If it works it works 😂

If you do prescription, book a virtual fitting with me and we’ll hook everything up the way it should be. There are a ton of different lens options for the rx program 😎. Pehu and red sands or pretty comparable. And doing rx a good choice with lenses other than the off the shelf Maui pure I speak of here 😁

Ohhh gotchya! In that case, usually it’s either stripped or a stubborn hinge and only partially threaded screw. Regardless, apply a little pressure to the hinge as if you were trying to open it further than it opens. If that doesn’t work you can also use a push pin from the opposite side while you unscrew.

To a very minor degree they can be. But largely they fit as they are.

The best is a specialized ultrasonic cleaning solution. A close follow up is a few drops of dawn dish soap. Just be cautious dropping in the entire pair of glasses lenses and all, as this ain’t good for the lens coatings if done regularly (much like how I don’t recommend just dish soap daily!) With a large collection though you’ll LOVE having this! I’ve debated selling them and bottles of solution on the site, building out. Whole new eyewear care section, but we never had much success even selling just bottles of our preferred lens cleaner online. 💀😂

The plastic Maui brilliant is fine. It’s the polycarbonate Maui pure that ruins this one. Gotta get it with the right lens and it’s decent. Still over hyped in my book. 🥂

It’s not about the frame, but the overall fit and adjustment. There is no silver bullet frame that’s just gonna feel perfect. That’s not how any of this works.

It’s definitely one of the safer options for sure! Last I knew it was 5.1 but TBH I haven’t checked since the initial release and it could have updated. I’ll also double check the manual we have in store later this week just to make sure I’m not remembering that wrong.

Wow! So many places are afraid to mess with rimless and I just don’t get it… I’ve actually only held off on doing a video dedicated to rimless adjustment because some of them do require specialty pliers specific for holding the mounting to the lens to prevent damage… but you bring up a great point that a lot of these tools can be had pretty cheap if you’re willing to wait, and most people that own rimless own them for a LONG time. Maybe it’s time 🙂

That’s fairly variable… what type of driving, what time of day, where, what’s the environment like… and how much do you actually care about “best”. A generic recommendation is easy as rose and brown tones are generally good for a wide range of driving situations.

@@ThatGlassesGuy03i drive a commercial truck in the day time but I need a good lens color that make street lights and pavements lines to pop out. I’m wearing right now the prizm ruby iridium polarized from Oakley but I feel like it’s not doing a good job, hence me removing my sunglasses to see if the light is actually red or green.

@Christian.Anguiano Gotchya, yes their ruby is pretty intense and knocks down light colors quite a bit. If cataracts are in play that’s also a factor. If you can get your hands on them Rodenstock Road lenses are incredible and the glasses not insanely expensive. Next up is any of the Serengeti driving lenses, and this is what I would recommend for the widest range of use for your case (also skip polarized, you’ll have better depth and contrast out on the road… all but the longest black flat top stretches of road will benefit from this more vs polarization… in AZ and deserts with long flat black straights absolutely have a polar pair to throw on.) Maui Jim HT lenses get an honorable mention for twilight and overcast days as well due to transmitting more light and giving great color rendering. It’s a multi pair solution but spending that many hours on the road a week you’ll LOVE this. I only carry Maui of these options so can’t help you a ton but happy to help where and how I can. If you want to try it with one pair, I’ve designed my own filter that I’ve had incredible feedback on as a more universal drivers lens. 😎🥂

That’s a very very minimal change… I would have a chat with whomever made your newest glasses just to be certain something isn’t off. A few days should be plenty of time to adapt to that little change.

Oh no!! Definitely more of a fit and frame choice issue in this case unless it has adjustable nose pads. But there is hope. Look on Amazon for “stick on nose pads” if you’re just single vision these can get you enough lift and move them just away enough to get the clearance you need 😁
