Wow this black and the blue dial variant look stunning! For under $200 this looks like a great homage for just about any wrist size. Also to get a lumed date wheel at this price is pretty impressive. I’m gonna need to look into this brand, great review Aviv! 😎🍻👍

Reading the title and before watching the video: Yes, it bloody well has to be worth it now that I've ordered it! I want the Doxa homage as well, but that will have to wait. One detail I really like is the scenery on the back case. The great wave of Kanagawa and that little sea star/star fish in the air is an awesome motif. It's kinda like:
Sea star: Come on you big bastard, i can take it!
Wave: Ok little one, have a taste of this.

Intriguing little watch with only a few negatives. The distraction by the blue AR coating can be remedied by choosing the blue dial variant 😉 I still haven't seen a V2 on YT and I'd really like to know whether the date window centering has actually been improved upon.
You might have a point there about the blue dial!

Great lume and caseback and does look good on your vintage leather, I guess it comes down to value when similar homages are available at half the price.
I haven't had the chance to check out the competition, but I love the sizing of the Seestern - it's truer to the original 62MAS. The quality is definitely there too.

Thanks for the nice review. I am amazed there's countless partly expensive 62MAS homages, but only one of the proper size and none exactly true to the original's look. Personally I could do without gimmicks like the meaningless back decoration and the rather alien looking ceramic bezel but I'll probably get one, only for its perfect size. BTW: for people less concerned with size there's also the 41 mm Tandori version with the exact same movement and sapphire at half the price.
I have the v3 in blue dial with a fully lumed bezel - it's Awesome!

I got the v3 and I can't find any faults with it. It worth the money. This is the watch seiko should be making at sub usd300 and they would not be able to keep them in supply.
pulled the trigger on one for the 11/11 sale got it for $158 and change if yuu apply your coupons and pay with paypal, and buy on the app got the blue...
Its strange i dont get a discount with paypal?? Do you need to change something

@@MyAffordableWatchCollection been waiting patiently for one this size, i think Seestern nailed it especially with those colorway options , the Tandorio with a PT-5000 looks great for larger wrists that i don't have, but @ $115 may be the best deal on AE...!

I didn't like the looks of a swatch because black and white are so boring but when you put it on that brown leather strap it looked really good. I think I'm going to try that Honey watch like this

I kind of like the design, but I will probably buy the same homage from Tandorio - it's a bit larger at 39 mm and has a choice of NH35 or PT5000 movements (also costs around 95-105$)
I have the Tandorio on order. I really liked the Seestern. My reason for going for the cheaper option was purely down to the amount of wrist time it will get. I just wanted a 62mas. I think that the Seestern is definitely going to be the best quality watch with the most faithful sizing to the original. I already have a Seestern Doxa homage which is true quality. The Tandorio I ordered is in dark blue with a sterile dial. Enjoy your choice of watch!
Both are good options in my opinion. I personally prefer the smaller size of the Seestern, and it's also closer to the original 62MAS sizing.

I think they sold out if them at least on the main store.
Looks like they misspelled "Sapphire" on the caseback. I hope that is fixed on version two. I'm not sure about "SE monster", whether that was spelled that way on purpose, or if it's supposed to say "Sea monster. I don't really see what it has to do with this watch, anyway.
The text on the case back here is irrelevant, it is not what they put on their watches. The spelling was fixed, and this specific case back belongs to their Monster homage, and not to this watch. I hope this helps.

From what I know, behind Seestern are some people with experience in the industry.
I just got mine! Only complaint so far is the lume pip not aligning with the 12 o'clock marker and the crystal. What's the leather strap at 9:47? Looks great with the watch!

@@MyAffordableWatchCollection I'll check out Strapsco. Thank you! Something I've noticed with my "V2" is that the date is still misaligned. It's not centered, it leans towards the bottom. You can kind of see previous date above.

The quality is up there too! A bracelet could be a great addition, but the strap is really good too.

I haven't had the opportunity to check out the Tandorio, so I can't really say. The Seestern is great and the Tondorio seems like good value.

You should contact them either through their website or their AliExpress store. They are very responsive and I'm sure will be happy to help.
I was just looking at this..i really want that seiko its gorgeous but just too expensive for what youre getting. I have my finger on the trigger to buy the seestern but the name is holding me back. When someone asks what brand is that and i have to say seestern i know i will cringe every time.
Seestern means sea star in German, I think it's a perfectly utilitarian name that won't raise eyebrows like so many other chinese watch brand names.
It is also German for starfish. Look at the brand logo. I have a Seestern Doxa homage. I don't have to justify it to anyone and neither do you. 👍
I think the name is much better than many other AliExpress brands out there.

When someone asks you the brand instead of saying it like “cistern”, just pronounce it in german, then people will think its some fancy brand!
Why is it that so few people understand the simple concept: when you get a watch for free, you're inherently biased. It's a conflict of interest that makes you lose all credibility.

Actually, or rather IMHO, these looks best on a black rubber strap.
To me a bracelet would be an absolute no-go on a tooly 60's diver. If anything I might consider an equally vintage mesh bracelet. What's wrong with tropic straps?

Seestern means sea star in German
As has been said it means sea star in German and also can mean starfish in German. Check out the brand logo. It's not a watch or brand you would want to flush away. The Doxa homage they produce was said by one reviewer to be as good as or better than the Doxa itself. I have one of these and it's a truly excellent quality watch. Moreover the watch that Aviv is reviewing is closer in size to the original 62mas whereas others are oversized. This will be the best 62mas homage out there. Not looking so silly now is it?
