Halo Infinite was so much fun at launch. I used to play it for hours. And I even finished the campaign. But then, there was no content, and I just moved on to TF2 instead... What a tragedy.

6:00 Definitely agree with 343 spending time on this weapon when we have wayyy more interesting weapons to bring back. Since Brutes are the main villians in this game, why not bring back the Spiker or Brute Shot? Orrr the Plasma Rifle?
Grenade launcher plasma rifle spartan laser brute shot spiker beam rifles even promethean weapons but no just give them a rifle that you can't even aim with that's not even as good as ones we already have

The DMR was one of my favorites weapon for me because you can pick people from both range and close range if you were good. Now they removed the fucking scope and it’s range. So now it’s a pretty bad weapon because you can just use a better weapon for Mid to close range

I still think live service is what is killing the game industry. It creates a cycle of lacking development and mia content. For example, a game is in development with the promises of free to play, live service support and lots of content. This implies to the developers that whatever game they release can be patched or added to. Which in turn means the game on launch does not have to be perfect or even good for that matter because whatever the issues are (lack of content, bugs etc.) can be fixed later down the road. Even if it were possible to fix these issues, there isn't enough time because of the deadline, or human resources because a decent amount of people are figuring out the live service. So already the most impactful part of the games life (the launch) will be neutered. Now, the game is launched and these problems are being realized, they have to devote more time and resources to add to or patch the game to be how it shouldve been on launch. This takes time, too much time... and by the time its a playable enjoyable game the community has moved on. Now they have to keep adding content and devote evn more time and resources to a dead game with a smaller monetary return since not alot of people are spending money on the shop content, and have to deal with a community demanding so much that they haven't even started to work on. Now the corporate overlords want a new game to be released and this means that the studio is split between trying to fully realize the current game and trying to develop a completely new one. This new game will also be live service, free to play with loads of content, but now there are even less people to start development and the cycle repeats itself. I fucking hate this, I would rather pay $70 for a triple A franchise and have it be an actual game than for them to promise me free to play with all of this baggage attached. Its pitiful.
If I was a corporate overlord, I’d be pretty pissed to hear people aren’t spending money because they say the game isn’t fully out yet. The people funded by me state it’ll take a year for the next mode to come out. Oh sweet so reduced revenue and a dwindling playerbase. Man I’d be pissed if I funded halo infinite.
@@f1fanatic241 As a game designer/dev (Systems Designer), theoretical corporate overlords can be as pissed as they want, but if the production pipeline is unrealistic, it’s generally starts at the top, and unrealistic demands. We just have to do what we can to match those demands.
As a game designer (Systems Design), I related to this post 💯. Unrealistic Production pipelines and intense workflows are part of the job, but that AAA live service cycle in particular certainly is certainly a big problem in our industry at the moment.

@@bahhumbug5467 D2 might be one of the best live service AAA games, but it's still not a great game; especially when the people over in Bungie are literally telling their employees to hold back and make mediocre content, so they don't "overdeliver."
The Shroud Screen is actually amazing when used in conjunction with the Threat Sensor. If you have a regular group that you play with, I highly recommend this combo.

some descions in Infinite I could definitely believe was forced by MS upper management like the $14 skin "pack". But i seriously doubt theres a manager saying "Nope, do not add infection to the game. Wait another year."
I'd rather have gamemodes with low population numbers than none at all.
Instead of cores, what they should do is have customizable armor loadouts you can switch between.
honestly i think them trying to tie modes to narrative events also pushes it back a bit farther too, since they can’t drop the mode until the story gets there

They had the vast majority of the team constantly being swapped out including upper management. That’s a more likely cause then anything. When there’s no vision or passion to the game it will always have problems going forward.
Armor load out idea is pretty cool, reminds me of when MW2019 introduced the feature to favorite operators in each faction and then put them on shuffle so every match you’d get a different operator
The thing is infection wouldn't even have low population, it's literally one of the most popular game modes

Man, so many parts of this video perfectly sum up how I feel about Infinite S3, and I really appreciate your balanced approach recognizing the good and the bad. That’s the hardest part about this darn game. It has so much potential, and some parts of it are so good, but many other bad parts drown those out and drive us away. The worst part is the silence from 343i recently, but hopefully that’ll change eventually. Thanks for a great video.
We say this each season. Looks like it’s never going to happen and stay consistent. Halo will always be like this as long as it’s ran by 343.

Ironically I did one of my best plays on Chasm capping that zone. I wiped the enemy team twice with my sidekick and BR while defending it.
Also I’m really sad about the DMR, it looks cool, and sounds the best it has ever been. But taking away the scope really just neutered any use it had, to low fire rate at close range so it’s always outclassed. To hard to aim at long range so the other marksman rifles are better options. I was so excited to get my favorite weapon back only for it to be basically useless when faced with any other choice.
First time coming across your channel and I absolutely love your content.
I was a huge halo infinite fan, playing in the flight tests and buying the first 2 battle passes, hundreds of matches, legendary campaign completion, etc. After season 2 dropped and nothing too substantial came to infinite I completely dropped it and honestly haven’t come back since. It sucks as I wanted PVE modes (firefight), infection, more alien weapons and better customization, but as the seasons dragged on this seems impossible for 343 to accomplish for some reason, or at the least very difficult. Hell this is actually the 1st infinite video I’ve seen since season 2 dropping.

Also, you can look up the "bungie halo vs 343 halo" video to get a firm grasp on why the only thing you need to mention about 343 halo is that it's shit and uncaring.....unlike how Bungie used to be.
It's not rocket science, the only time halo has had a solid playerbase under 343 was h5, and they had to get ahold of a completely different audience to do so.

Taking out player collision and friendly fire will always be their biggest blunder for me. They’ve changed the entire meta of what makes Halo and encourage explosive spam

I loved this video man! You've earned a sub! I completely agree with you about the coating system.
The one thing I've really disliked about infinite is the fact that the Spnkr is literally the best weapon to have in almost any situation other than far range. That there's no other weapon that can be a trade off for it. It's the only rocket launcher/ weapon that can one shot easily. They need more variety! I'm tired of trying to do well with the forunner grenade launcher only to be destroyed by a Spnkr. The same goes for the energy sword. Ever since I saw the gravity hammer be stopped by the energy sword if they swing at the same time, I knew that the energy sword was the best close range weapon. They ruined the shotgun. It's a 3 shot kill and that is disgraceful. I miss the time when the shotgun was something to be afraid of when you had a sword. But it didn't mean that if you had a shotgun you would be fine. You still had the chance of missing. I will always think that halo reach had it best when it came to weapon variety. There was no clear best weapon in almost every situation. This has been my rant.

solid video! first time on the channel but i think that was good commentary on the current state of the game, i’m definitely cautiously optimistic about it. editing on the shitposts was great, felt like they weren’t too overbearing which i think can be a big problem with videos that use them like this, but you let stuff sit for the right amount of time and i appreciate that. definitely deserves more subs.

I really like the DLC map look, the map design is a little iffy but the DLC maps look the way infinite concept art looked which is really cool. I especially like Cliffhanger, reminds me so much of Reach.

13:35, If you have this specific bug, disable IPV6 in your adaptor settings. Apparently this is a bug they fixed around launch, that the newest patch went and un-fixed.

I really need to try it again sometime. Like infinite isn't a bad game but the mp lost me at release with their progression and no Forge and tbh later again with the Campaign which i just didn't like because it felt too much like a Ubisoft game there kinda.

the shroud screen is 100% a rip off from Valorant, however they dont understand the implications of the smoke, and why its important / useful for that game. In a game like valorant where a single bullet from a vast array of weapons can 1 tap you instantly, smokes are crucial to blocking lines and forcing out utility from the enemy team. However in a game like Halo, with a much much lower TTK theres no real need to smoke off an angle or line of sight, not to mention its an instant-deployment, rather than throwing a smoke like csgo, or pre-determining the location like valorant. Also you have a radar in halo so theres absolutely no point to using one anyways, its a complete gimmick just like everything else in this game lol.
Im pretty sure it blocks you from radar if you're in. I remember not showing in radar when inside.
i can see your points, although it’s important to note that the shroud screen cuts off radar. there’s a point in this video where i didn’t even realize i was surrounded because the shroud jammed my radar lol.
i do think it’s a step in the right direction toward more neutral equipment though!

Random thing i realised while you were talking about halo 3's release in a video, we're about the same age if not within the year. games have been my ROCK AND STONE since I was about 5, playing the whackest shooter and strategy games on the wii like cod 4, wii sports and my favourite for nostalgia Battalion wars 2, a game that I have never found another soul that knows it, pet alone played it obsessively. But halo was something magnificent for me even if my brain couldn't comprehend what I was able to bare witness too.

Im still waiting for the day i can get the same armor combination i had in reach, primary color white with secondary being black, but the only cores for the mark VB with white are the champions one or an epic one that has a hideous orange tone in the helmet, one day ill be able to use the color white for my armor in infinite without spending 15usd for the color and even IF its available
I feel like cores could remain infinite as long as everyone was given a free Custom Core that had complete compatibility and cross core customization. Every core could exist on its own and have its individual pieces, but the custom core could use any bodysuit and base armor pieces, plus have access to all shoulders, helmets, attachments, etc. Also give us the option of custom coatings that we can change the color of, while store coatings can give us access to different materials/textures/patterns.

Bungie said in Reach the Brute chot was retconned for concussion rifle. It exists basically in Halo 2 anniversary, the only post 2010 Halo game to have it, out of necessity of being Halo 2, and that's it.

I played this game non stop on release...but it was the desync that really turned me off. Tried it this season and it seemed better than before
Literally all they need to do is allow FULL armor customization, make sure the melee's connect, and it's a solid game!!

For the coatings I once said of leaving the plastic looking recruit finish and all the colors free for all, and maybe monetize the finishes while leaving some related to events like Yoroi with the dirt, the eaglestrike a war torn finish it has, the Crysis one texturing it with hexagons and so on but for all armors like NFS does when you made your perfect color, now is playing with the finish

One of the best reviews on Halo I've seen. Not like the OG Halo CZcams content creators absolutely ripping the game for irrelevant points. I do believe customization needs work but I think the core gameplay needs to be fixed before they move to things like cross core customization.
definitely agree that they need to fully iron out the gameplay first. all the cosmetics mean nothing if the game is still jank

Damn I'm annoyed I only saw this now but great vid my man, good to see you being harsh but still fair on the game. I definitely think Infinite's starting to move in the right direction now, but it's crazy how it took 2 six month seasons to do so. I think I'll be really happy with Infinite once the progression system releases alongside Infection

There is a lot of positive with season 3, yet 343 has failed to address any of the server side issues that still plague the game, server failure, desync is still a problem etc.
Just little thing like BTB unlimited being a playlist for "all social type gametypes" and yet just getting total crontrol over and over and over again. I got to play the fiesta gamemode once before uninstalling again.
