    I def agree with Lofton. I was watching the Indians’ comeback vs. Seattle in 2000 or 2001. Looked up his stats, and yeah, absolutely. 2500 hits, .300 lifetime average in 17 years. He was the last great bag stealer we ever saw. Plus his defense was tremendous.

    4. Kenny Lofton
    5. Barry Bonds
    6. Roger Clemens

    Dick Allen was an offensive legend. I think he's HOF-handicapped by his low games played level, which dials down his cumulative offensive totals. Also, I guess he wasn't that popular with the baseball writers. And it didn't help that he was a defensive liability. Still, the dude is way better than SO many of the players already inducted. What a beast.

    I absolutely abhor Barry Bonds. But if you put his numbers up just based on his pre-juice days, he’s a hall of famed. Three MVP’s in four years in the early 90’s. Throw out the whole of his steroid era stats and the MVP’s alone make him a lock. And that’s from a Bonds hater.

  • @fernandogomez7081
    @fernandogomez7081 Před 3 lety +1

    Roger Maris is huge negative. Just bc he broke a record doesn’t give him a pass into the HOF. He played a power position and his numbers aren’t even close. 5100 ABs, 826 runs and 850 RBI, .260 BA., 1325 hits. Huge no!!
    Minoso is a negative too. Played two power positions and only hit 186 hrs. Let’s say he was able to play earlier. He never hit 25 hrs in a season. Over 20 hrs only 4 times and average 16 hrs a season. Negative.
    The Crime Dog? I’m on the fence with him.
    No comment on Whitaker. It’s the 2nd base thing. Hard to judge. His era would be best to compare him to Ryne Sandberg. And Ryno was a stud.
    And I’m an Angels fan and love Mike Trout but don’t compare him to Barry Bonds. Trout is no Barry Bonds. Trout is a stud but a fully healthy Griffey was better. Bonds is the GOAT.

    • @TheJonMichaelShow
      @TheJonMichaelShow  Před 3 lety

      Well I disagree with a lot of what you wrote. But Roger Maris had a pretty similar career to HOF Hack Wilson. And back to back MVPs.

    • @fernandogomez7081
      @fernandogomez7081 Před 3 lety

      @@TheJonMichaelShow Hank Wilson played way before Maris and the Veterans Committee voted him in. Even though he only played 12 seasons, he at least has an above .300 BA, nearly .400 OBP and way above .500 slugging %. Not Maris’ .260 BA. Not happening. Even in 12 seasons, which was really 10 seasons, Wilson was still able to pass 1000 RBI. And obviously, all the 500 plus HOF voters and all the committees they’ve had agree. Otherwise, Maris and everyone else on your list would be in. But they’re not for a lot of reasons. Not worthy. But McGriff is a question mark for me. He’s way better than Harold Baines.

      @@peterpellechia5985 Yeah I used to hold that position but I've changed my mind on it. The fact that MLB put Bowie Kuhn into the HOF after he shamelessly exploited the steroid era to get fans back in the seats changed my perspective. Kuhn exploited the home run race and pitching aces such as Clemens then turned around with false shocked surprise that they were doing steroids and slapped them down once they served his purpose. In short you can't tell the story of baseball without Bonds or Clemens. It is hypocrisy on MLBs part and nothing else. Plus both Bonds and Clemens were HOF bound before any steroid allegations were even hinted at.
