ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On CZcams and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

I will show you the golf swing slow motion so that you can see what you need to do to improve.

1. How to stop slicing your driver
2. How to swing more in to out or how to swing more inside out
3, How to get the correct impact position with driver
and I hope to do all this with simple golf tips so you can create an effortless golf swing
Hope you enjoy - Sport
I've watched many many golf instruction CZcams videos but yours are without doubt the best and easiest to follow. As a 73 year old golfer I find your seniors lessons incredibly helpful
I love helping senior golfers Bob
@@DanielMaude just joked with my mother in law that you must have heard our conversation yesterday about improving seniors’ driving distance. Brilliant as always and looking forward to her feedback from this lesson. Thanks Danny!
Great tips!!! Thank you for showing us how we can continue to enjoy playing golf well into our senior years. The game is more then just playing, it is about who you get to play it with. My wife just started playing last year. We are both in the senior stage of life. She enjoys getting out on the course for some exercise. We enjoy being able to play together. Great to see you and your dad playing together!
I can't wait to use these great tips. Your Dad's swing is very relatable to what I am experiencing now.
Thank You Danny for all the information you give us senior golfers. I am sure every senior golfer, your dad , and I really appreciate your professional guidance . Thanks from a senior golfer from San Antonio Texas.
Some of the best golf tips ever, all the tips described are all the one which has fixed all my issues for accuracy and performance, thank you very much Danny
You are by far the best instructor that I have come across.
Really happy to help Carlos
Amazing instructional video Danny. So much of benefit to senior golfers like myself. Thank you.
I tried the turn and look behind and was amazed as to how different it felt and the flex it gave me ! Now, I will practice before putting this technique to use as my back is already stretching muscles I didn't know I had but I am excited !! Clever use of examples (as the steering wheel) in your video. Puts things in a different frame of mind.
I am just returning to the game after 25 years. I have been struggling with the driver slice - like every single drive. I played nine holes yesterday after studying many of your videos over the past few days. For the first time ever, I hit three beautiful slight-draw drives straight down the fairway. It was an amazing feeling seeing that kind of rapid improvement in my driver skill. I also had three great sand saves as well, all because of your content. Danny, thanks so much for what you do!
Danny, as always your videos motivate me to go straight to the driving range to apply your tips. And the nice thing about that is that it helps me a lot to improve my golf game
That’s wonderful Ron
Great video Danny. Thanks to this video I played my first comp today and came 3rd. It was only a 9 hole summer league game but I scored 22 points off 9 hcap with a 40 yard chip in on the 8th for a birdie and 4 points. Used the looking behind trick to get a better position and now hitting longer shots.
Excellent video for us old guys. I recently bought a Mizuno ST-Z 10.5° driver, and using your tips from one of your recent driver videos I've finally learned how to properly hit a driver. Yesterday in my round I was able to hit (for me) some monster drives! One of my goals for this year is to hit my driver 240 yards consistently, and I now feel I'm on my way to doing this. Thanks, Danny!
Hi Danny since I’ve understood the power circle I am hitting the ball crisp and so much better. Many thanks once again , learning a lot from your videos keep up the great work
Danny, another great video lesson. As a 76 year old I appreciate the journey that your wonderful dad is on with your help. I still carry a 14.2 with pretty good distance (225 average drive), but I got fitted 4 years ago and replaced everything in my bag. It DID make a big difference, so you hit the nail on the head with your last tip. Thank you for all of the lessons for us seniors who still love the game.
Thank you Dan appreciate the support 😁⛳️
I'm a senior, still reasonably flexible, and just love these tips which I'll certainly put to good use. I have an ancient Callaway 9 wood which I'll dig out and re-grip to see how it helps. Thanks Danny.
Hello Danny, I've subscribed and followed your videos for years. Thank you very much for all of the great golf tips. After watching today's video - I stumbled upon your video of recommended daily golf exercises at the Peter Cowan facility. The tips are great. As a 65 year old with a stiff back, I go to my Chiropractor once a month for a tune up :). He has drummed into me that when we stretch and exercise we should always exercise the opposite side of our body as well, to keep the body balanced in strength and flexibility. He also advises that after every other hole while on the golf course to swing a long iron in the opposite of my normal direction about 5-6 times. Again, for the purpose to help keep the body balanced - it has helped me finish 18 holes with less stiffness and discomfort in my back. I just wanted to share in case it may help some of your students. Thanks again for improving my golf game. CHEERS!
Jack in the States
Thanks Danny. I am 63, Senior? don't feel so as still flexible. Never been a very long hitter. What I can say these and similar drills you've supplied have me driving the ball further and straighter than I did 10 years ago. Also love watching your Dad's progress.
So good to hear Ian
Fantastic video for any golfer, but makes so much sense for a senior golfer. Great simplicity to your approach and your passion for our game. A must watch! Well done Danny.
Thank you Raymond 😁
Love your enthusiasm Danny. And lots of great info. I'm not as old as some of your seniors but sometimes feel it😂...I use therabands daily for muscle strength and memory and even use them for a quick warm up in the carpark before playing just before firing a big ripper.... That's 200 yards for me.😊
Thank you very much. I have been watching your channel for a while.. The biggest reason is I can relate to some of our tips. Some of your lessons finally made something in my brain to click on. Though I am still working on it, most of my drives in my last round were longer and straighter. I was actually had the longest drive on most of the holes. Now I will keep working with your tips and now have to start over with my irons.
Hi Danny ,
I really enjoy watching your videos ....... I am getting ready to turn 76 ye😢ars young and enjoy the game of golf . I have been told my tempo is very smooth but get discouraged that I can't hit the ball as far as the younger players I play with . Your video on easiest swing for seniors is amazing........ glad you now my only instructor I will watch from now on .
Danny, once again great video. As a senior, I will work on the tips you have provided. Thanks.
Hi Danny , I started watching your channel 3 weeks ago and thank to your driver tips I have increased my distance from 150 to 200 years , can’t wait to try more of your lessons Cheers
That’s awesome to hear Andrew
Great content as usual. As a senior who only hits driver 200/220 odd yards these days, some great tips in there. Nailed it at the end Danny, about using the right gear. Don't be too hung up about trying ladies and/or senior shafts folks. Really helps with ball speed and closing the face more at impact.
💯 David, ignore what the brand or club is and simply use what works
Great content as usual Danny. So pleased for your Dad having clubs in the bag that he’ll have full confidence in. 👍🏻🇦🇺
Danny, well done! This vision of the swing circle or arc on the set up plane is gold!! Be it for a seasoned golfer like your dad or beginner. I really feel this method is great throughout the bag. It has transformed my experience and joy of the game. Thanks for doing these. FYI- your dad is a true gentleman. Keep him on the videos.
Really kind of you Mike

One of your very best videos for sure! The tilted plane graphic was terrific! I think swinging back and forth on a flat plane is simple for most people. However when you are tilted forward at address, the back and forth motion starts to appear as up and down, and weird things begin to happen. And it's still just the same motion.
Yes, it just takes a little practice and maybe some feedback from a camera
Great instruction Danny. Danny it was you idea of extending by backswing that has helped me really start hitting the ball with power. The idea someone says hi and you look over your shoulder with your neck. I was able to do this easily. So I have been doing practice repetitive swings works on this idea with backswing and your lever idea. The swing feels so good and smooth thanks to your drills that I do at home and the range
The grafhics are amazing and really adds clarity.
Another great video Danny. I’m returning to golf after a very long break and your videos have really helped me understand what I’m trying to achieve. Lovely to see you out with your Dad having a great time. Thank you for your help Cheers Jim
Great to hear you are back playing James
Danny, one of your very best videos. It works! Tried on the course yesterday. What really helped me was the steering wheel tip and the correction to open shoulders.
Happy to help Peter 😁
Danny, as a senior 61 year old golfer who just started playing 8 months ago I love your videos. I’ve learned so much keep up the great instruction!
Thank you Stewart
Hi Danny, every Saturday after watching your lesson videos I just want to get out and put them into practice. Course looking great in spring sunshine,🤞for dry day here soon and can get that driver swinging!
I love this time of year Geoff
Another great video Danny. I like the way you emphasize feel over technical positions. Once you learn the feel everything else takes care of itself. Thanks!!
It really does
Danny, thank you so much for five fabulous simple tips for me as senior golfer.
Pleasure Wil, have a great weekend
Fantastic video Danny. I especially love the visual aids and the idea of the hammer throw. Once you trust this idea and let it go the result is pure ball strikes in the center of the club. No more toe shots!!! Thanks for all you do for the golfing community.
Pleasure, really happy to help
Thanks Andy . As an over the topper this is just what I needed . Obviously something I can practice at home and hopefully muscle memory will kick in . Keep up the good work
All the best Peter
As ever Danny, good solid advice. Not quirky, magical fix everything cons but good nuggets of gold that make sense and easy to follow. Keep up the great work!
Very kind Andrew 🙏
most valuable swing thoughts from any teacher ever! Love seeing wrong way/right way
Hi Danny, I live and work in St Andrews and have gone through the Callaway fitting programme. It was a really nice experience and I got fitted out with my new irons and hybrid 4 wood. As I've just turned 60 my ball speed is way down to where I was once able to play and I now struggle to get the distance. Really liked your video but as we get older we get really stiff and unable to rotate as well as we used to, however your little tips make sense and I need to be so aware of relaxing my arms and shoulders to get in the positions you've shown.
Danny just discovered your site with your lesson with Pete Cowen. Love your lessons for seniors. I’m 73 been golfing for 50 years was once down to a 3 handicap. In past 10 years I have lost a lot of distance n handicap is up to 13. Can’t wait to try some of your senior tips.
Thank you James and happy to help!
Great tips!! I, as a senior golfer at 78 years young now have senior shafts on all my irons and regular shafts on my driver, three wood and four hybrid. Got fitted for COBRA F-MAX SUPERLITE irons. Previous clubs were Callaway S2H2 steel shafts. Glad I made the change
That’s great Fred, thanks for sharing
You're the best! Wish I had l seen your videos before I visited my sis in law and played Cantebury..You've made playing I'm my senior years so much more fun
Brilliant video again Danny. Just love your dad and your relationship xx
Thank you Susan 🙏
5 excellent ,easy to understand tips. I will follow Danny's advice.
Having clubs suitable to your age, fitness & ability is important.
Suitable clubs give you the opportunity to play as well as you can.
Thank you Danny.
They really do Alan, you don’t need to go out and buy a whole new set usually just take a few clubs away and add one or two
Excellent video Danny with easy to follow instructions / explanation. On the equipment front, I recently purchased the new Ping 430 with the lighter shaft and grip and am now hitting the driver with confidence for the first time in a long, long time!!! Not cheap I know, but a good investment for me as the driver was my biggest obstruction to scoring! Looking forward to the summer with even more runout!
That’s wonderful to know Gerry
Not exactly a senior golfer but I only just started playing golf this year at 48 years old. Fairly strong fairly athletic but this video hits exactly where I'm having the problems.
I feel like I need to watch this video before every round of golf and practice session. Thank you.
Love to hear how you get on
Great video, can hit my irons really well but just be the only person who can hit 5I further than driver so will be trying this advice thanks
As someone who is knocking on the door of senior status these are incredibly helpful tips! I shall be attempting to incorporate these into my game this afternoon. Great stuff as always Danny
All the best Dave
Better knock loud many of the chaps I play with are going deaf. 😅
I have followed your tips and the driver was much more stright and long. Thanks a lot. Regards from Spain
Pleasure Francisco
Danny, thanks for another fantastic video. I'm 68 years old and pretty strong. Just had a lesson two days ago and he stopped me from starting the backswing by turning my hips first. He was right about that but he did not help me with a trigger to start the backswing. I played after that lesson but still was struggling. I saw your video today and then went to the range. I was using the one swing thought of turning around to see who was calling me. Oh my God, that is the best I have it the ball in a long time and with that swing thought my swing felt very fluid and easy.
Thank you very much
Gary
Your five tips to senior golfers Danny were exceptional! I, being a senior golfer, took each one to heart. On occasion, I do not get the desired width in my backswing and this does limit my distances. I do like the "Power Plane" concept and the "Hammer Thrower" analogy! Like your dad, I have made changes in my golf bag and gear. I have gone to a much lighter driver shaft (regular with 50 grams) fairway woods -49 grams, 3, 4, 5 hybrids-65 gram shafts. Face balanced putter. I've changed from steel shafts to graphite shafted irons and woods. Now, golf again is a pleasure to play!
I used this "power plane" today Danny and it was powerful and I definitely gained distance with both irons and woods! I will now incorporate this into my normal routine! Best score I've had in months. Thank You Danny!
Thanks Danny. Another great video and I'm one of the seniors this is aimed at, so I find this particularly helpful. Great to see you supporting your Dad to such good effect. Other teachers emphasise 'shallowing' and 'in to out', but you don't. Can I ignore those subtle deviations in the swing?
I just think it’s a trendy term that some are jumping on but in reality if you learn the natural swing
Love this video Danny.. You always present the information in an easy to understand and implement way..
Really kind of you to feedback Simon
In my late 50's and just had a second knee replacement so I'm looking to regaining my backswing on my golfing return in the summer. Very helpful tips for me thanks Danny.
Pleasure Peter, would love to hear how you get on
Danny - everyone one of the tips is brilliant. Each one addressed a fault I was doing. Thank you
Pleasure Ed, all the best
As always very useful tips, looking forward to using today's lesson as a reminder for the season ahead.
All the best Per
Absolutely fantastic swing thought!! As simple as imagining someone calling your name behind you. You are 1000 percent spot on Danny. The vast majority of golfers are so obsessed with steadiness and stability they forget to move. They suffer from self imposed "Rigor Mortis." That blame falls to a large degree on the teaching pros of today. They preach the Golfing Gospel of "Static This" and "Stationary That" to the extent that players are bound in chains. Or even Mummified!! Fortunately for your viewers Danny, you don't fall among that brethren. Your steadfast belief in playing with freedom can help unshackle any player. The greatest adage in golf is that the ball "Doesn't know who's hitting it." Players who outperform their peers simply think in freer terms. Age or gender has nothing to do with it. Thank You for reaffirming that indisputable truth. Keep sending us more great content.
That’s very kind Donald, freedom all the way
Thanks Danny! Your tips are so "spot on" and helpful. At my age of 68 and having been playing for about six years, my game has been improving exponentially due in part to your helpful videos. I passionately love the sport and you help take it to another level. Thank you sir!
Thanks Harold 😁
Brilliantly communicated once again. Love that looking behind drill. You could call that one "The Owl"
I like it 😁
Great video Danny, I'm actually going to the range on Monday as its a 40 mile round trip. I practice in the garage on a mat without a ball and of course you can't tell if you would have hit it properly. So I'm looking forward to being able to practice with actual balls.l
Didn’t know I could get a 9 wood but absolutely love my 3, 5 and 7 woods. Might have to do some research! Thanks again Danny.
Danny , thank you so much for a video aimed at we senior golfers (there's a lot of us out there). Lots of videos on CZcams about trying to smash a drive 350 yards - we can't or maybe we can now 😊 ! Thanks
So true
What a great instructional video especially with your Dad. What I wouldn't do to be able to do that again, it doesn't get better than that👍😊
Fantastic new video Danny. Will definitely go to range and try some of your tips.
Love this video. Just the other day I said to my husband, "Maybe we should look into getting some new golf clubs". I play with a set I bought in 1991. I am sure the technology of clubs has advanced as has my age. 😝
It certainly has 😁
Thanks again Danny. Really great help. Our courses are just starting to open up this week!!!
Pleasure, please Ignore the person trying to impersonate me.
Great tips Danny, very easy to incorporate into the swing and exercises. Thanks!
Pleasure Robert, all the best
great video, i have let my left heel lift a little and it has helped me so much, more light footed give you motion
Great idea Nic
Took this advice to the range! Have to say brilliant! I can now hit a driver 😊 thank you!
Great tips as always. AAA+ to your visuals guy who puts the graphics in. It explains the plane really well. I need to move my circle 😂
Enjoy your videos. Waiting for the weather to break so I can get to the range to put these proper golf movements to work
I always enjoy seeing your relationship with Dad
Hi Danny - I think I am beyond help as in my head I am still a 30 year old youngster as I have just put a Srixon 4-iron in the bag. It is great having a ton of metal on a regular graphite shaft!
You've found your niche--there are a lot of seniors out there who will benefit from these excellent videos, your dad is your secret weapon, that constricted swing you showed is like most of mine. thanks!!
Really kind thank you
Great tips
..Thank-you very much
I have been following this series of driver improvements from Danny for a few weeks now (I am 62) and it is really starting to bear fruit. I have literally gone from hitting 25% of fairways to 80%. Something I have never done in my life. And I am fairly consistently hitting drives of 180-200 metres which is better than my best drives before. My confidence is rising and I think that I have more to give. I would love to hit 220 metre drives.
I have also finished 2 rounds of golf this past week using the same ball! And with two scores under 90 which are the first times I have broken 90 since 2018.
The other major plus is that I have far more limited swing thoughts now. Honestly I was mentally exhausted sometimes before with all my swing thoughts. And thinking less makes me less stiff and robotic with a better tempo.
Really superior teaching. With any discipline-be it mathematics or stone masonry-gifted teachers find ways to hear, see, and feel the lessons. We all learn in different proportions through different media. When you cover them all in an understandable way, it really sticks. I’m a 62 year-old beginner. I can’t tell you how helpful your coaching is. Anyone who doesn’t view in is missing a wealth of information. Thank you, once again!
Thank you Khrzhaar 😁 appreciate the feedback and support 👍
Thanks for another great lesson Danny. I'm struggling with consistency and I have a problem with leaving the face open on impact. Hoping tip 4 might help. Cheers
Love to hear how it goes Dave
Great video. I will try the tips next time I go out golfing. Thanks
I love this video. I'm 82 and thought I was incapable of a turning back to create power. After watching this video I used the "looking back behind me" exercise, and it has done wonders for me. Thank-you Danny.
That’s amazing Gerard
Thankyou for the tips..been going thru similar problems
Happy to help Sarah 😁
Simply explained and easy to implement thanks Danny
Pleasure Timothy
Wonderful advice as usual Danny.
I need to get to the top of the backswing without losing sight of the ball - need to practice these moves. Good luck on the million subscribers will encourage my pals to subscribe.
Mark
Thanks for the support Mark
I'm one of your subscriber to your channel..I consider you are my personal coach..tqvm
Good to see your dad still smashing the ball
Always great to have him on the channel
Hi Danny, Good stuff as always. I enjoyed the example you used to look back as if someone was calling you. These tips are good checks to remember when I am out on course. Have a good week
And you Matt, all the best
Tip 4: Yes, yes, yes! Subtle, detailed analysis of what really happens in the golf swing shows that through the hitting zone the spine of the right-handed golfer moves to the right, not the left as it would if the golf swing were like the Olympic discus thrower’s movement. This can be seen in film from behind the golfer, as seen in CZcams film of Sam Snead and Jamie Sadlowski. The ‘envelope’ for that component may be the discus thrower’s movement. Unfortunately, we tend to want to help hit the ball further by moving the bodyweight forward throughout the swing, right foot to left foot, but that just make us stiff. I have never heard any other teacher refer to the Hammer thrower’s movement. I don’t think it is widely understood.
Tip 5: Yes, indeed, but it is so hard to let go of cherished, old, expensive clubs!
Really timely for me, aging and struggling to get distance. Thanks for the tips, always appreciate your help!
BTW, I used your tips for getting out of bunkers today and they gave me great improvement.
Brilliant Daniel happy to hear it 😁
Danny you’re a genius. I tried 4 of your 5 tips. “Throwing the hammer” what a sensation! For a 75 year old you’ve made my day. Thanks😍
Great tips for all of us to keep in mind.
This video helped me so much! Thanks a lot!
Great video Danny, throwing the hammer is a brilliant visual aid.
Great info for the seasoned golfer. Thanks.
Pleasure Dwayne, all the best
danny great tips sir i would now consider myself a senior golfer at 61 in the last year i changed my clubs from anold set of calawaysto a newer set of calaways but i seem to have lost a lot of distance been following you for a while now and been trying out a few of your tips i do hit the ball ait straighter but cant seem to get the distance back any help would be great keep up the great work you do on the channel it helps us all im sure but me a great deal atb iain
Start by assessing where the possible power leaks are. Is it quality of strike or club head speed?
Crucial advice thanks!
Thanks Danny, I am fast approaching 70 and have a swing just like your dad''s. Due to dodgy back and hip struggle to make a full turn and struggle to generate much power from a 3/4 turn. I'll try to work on these 5 tips. I have a 5A senior shaft in my 7 Wood and generally hit it well. Having seen your dad after his fitting just wondering if I should try a 9 wood as I struggle with the mid irons?
Such a great video Danny, for us more "mature" golfers, with the big stick. My last thought is to pull the trail shoulder back, before pulling the trigger. It's made such a difference to my accuracy and distance and I can draw the driver now. Please keep up the great content and let's get you to 1m subscribers!
Thank you David
Thanks Danny, some great tips.
Nice Danny. Yes, good lesson for senior like me. Thanks
Thanks Oscar, have a great weekend
