The last thing you have after this event is your tail between your legs! You came in with the rig that was the least setup for this particular terrain, and still absolutely rocked it! It was an honor to finally meet you and your team in person and I’m hoping we can get together again in the future!
Amen. Top dude, attitude counts for everything and his is unbeatable.
Casey thank you so much! You know we are all huge fans of yours as well! We need to have you out this summer and bounce around in the woods! SO great to have met you!
Wisconsin Wrecker games '24!!
I second that. I went ahead to watch other competitors, but my wife stayed with Eric. Eric, you did a great job! HT to you! I'm glad you attended Wrecker Games, because I could learn about you and your team!
We're admiring you and your team for finishing that competition, even that everyone else already left.
BTW, we have a rock from the place which you hit with your rig :)
Can't wait to watch all the videos you guys put out from the event Eric super happyier about the lift can't wait see the install
Eric, you didn't really build that thing to be a rock crawler like every other competitor did and you did most of it anyway. That's a win. And that Rory... man, everyone needs a friend like Rory. That guy is top notch.
I was thinking the same thing.
I want a friend like them all! Like Matt, Rory, Paul and Eric! Such a great family imo
🎯👍🏻100%
Don't pump up rory's head to much he might see this lmao. Jk rory is a top notch guy for sure.
Rory is the absolute real deal! Good job Eric.
Eric you are the original off road wrecker and have led me and many others to the other channels! You are number 1!
Ditto!
Amen
without a doubt
Yes you guys were the first for me too and Eric runs in terrain like where I'm at. I kinda would like to wheel a little but my tractors take my $$
Thank you for the support!
Tail tucked? Hell, none of this would have happened without you! You're a legend! Hope your channel see's some much deserved growth from this and you can make all the repairs and upgrades you want. The Red Wrecker will ride again!
Thank you for all of the support!
No reason to think you need to tuck your tail between your legs. I (and many others) was Team BSF. We knew going in that the wrecker is set up for Wisconsin mud trails in the woods. I've seen some really great comments and a few videos from people who were amazed by y'all. Getting as far as you got in a rock crawling competition while driving a mudder truck, made those of us rooting for y'all, proud. Be safe on your drive home.
No shame in that Eric. Great job from a wrecker built for very very different terrain and conditions. Just see it as a learning opportunity for potential upgrades!
As said by Matt himself, you are the original "off road recovery guy" I'm willing to bet that you've inspired many others, plus the title of "The Original Off-Road Recovery" nobody can take it away. Keep you head held high; you represented your crew gallantly.🤙🏻
You guys have absolutely nothing to tuck tail for. That was incredible wheeling from everyone's standpoint! Absolutely world-class wrecker work all around, keep it up!
Totally agree
All in all you did a great job. The wrecker did a great job also. I think I speak for a few folks saying we hope you come back again. It’s hard on equipment, it’s hard on the pocketbook but the off-road industry and participants really do respect you and your crew. It would not be the same if you were not participating, everyone loves to root for the people with the funny accent!😊
As a resident of Wisconsin, I have to agree with this, except I don't know what accent you're talking about! Glad to see some representation from our area. Also I think everyone gives you extra credit realizing you are hanging in there with the best while being out of your normal element.
with the exception of a few battle scars, That wrecker did a helluva job trying to climb those rocks. You’re a great driver Eric!
Well said
Don’t fix those… let’er wear em proudly :)
I for one was surprised at how well your truck did...
Maybe narrow the bed a smig and make the shoot next year...
@@annagarner1280 he needs to lower his gears in order to make the chute. Not enough power, he said!
@@johnd9000 Agreed!! dent of honor
Rory is just good people. Sorry you guys got banged up but happy you made the trip and everyone’s going home unscathed. The wrecker can be fixed. 🌺
You guys did great, thanks for some great times watching, be safe driving home!!!!
That wrecker went places it was never built to go. Awesome job Eric and crew. Looking forward to the videos.
Each wrecker was built for the area it operates. Maybe next time the games should be held in your area. I'd like to see Matts wrecker fit between the trees.
Way to go BSF. I couldn't make it to the games, but I was wearing my BSF Wrecker Games hat in honor! I love that you absconded with the door!!!!
DITTO!
Eric, I believe that your rig did a fine job, especially considering that it is not set up to be a rock crawler. Between that and that you have essentially zero experience rock crawling were significant handicaps.
Everyone had their share of difficulties, and several teams managed to flip their towed cars upside down, and got their share of "beauty marks" from rock bites.
Thank you and everyone of the participants for providing hours of entertainment, especially for those like myself who are essentially house bound. What impressed me the most is the way that everyone seemed willing to help out whenever needed, without regard to being "competitors". The "games" were intended to be entertainment and fun. That goal was met, in my opinion.
Good luck and God Bless!
You did great, Eric. You participated and got the battle scars to prove it. In reality, the wrecker games was just a huge pile of camaraderie among a bunch of friends. Let's see what you do to the wrecker with your new lift system after you return home. Great job, Eric.
Your tail is no where near between your legs. Your tail is held high and proud. I've only seen snippets from the games, waiting for all your videos to drop, but you've done an incredible job, and what Rory is saying is right, where your wrecker comes from is a totally different landscape and need from the rest who were either building for that area, or similar as that is where they serve, or were able to change just for it.
Seriously, be proud, you've done an amazing job there! You really are the Original Off Road Wrecker, and I love that you were included in these games. I've been watching some of the past videos from like years ago, and you had this before it even became popular. We're all proud of you and what you've achieved, and done as a free service!
Also why is Seat Cover called Seat Cover?
Seat Cover is old CB radio jargon.
@@pauldunaway5113 Thanks for that, googled it, and understand why Mara is called Seat Cover now.
It’s a silly name but fitting
10-4!
The main thing is, despite the “rock bites”, did you and your family have a good time?
You Eric, and your whole crew deserve a big thumbs up👍👍👍, you guys traveled the farthest and put on a great show with wrecker that's second to none when it comes to trail rescues. Travel safely and we will look forward to your uploads.
Survived? You did F great job Eric! It was so fun to watch the Red Wrecker.
Eric your the only truck out there that is a ACTUAL tow truck, suspension and body! You are not a custom built rock crawler but your truck could tow a car down the road, not them. You did pretty damn well. MNGO4.
"but your truck could tow a car down the road, not them."
Tow Mater from Merlins Old School Garage towed his Jeep 300 miles to the Wrecker Games all the way from Lake Havasu. Go watch his video titled: "Will We Even Make it to the Off Road Wrecker Games?"
The BSF wrecker is not at all the only off-road wrecker that can tow a car down the road.
@ITubeTooInc merlin flat towed his jeep, not boom towed. his sling unit isn't dot approved for on highway towing. thus it's not a legal tow truck. and in some states not even a legal truck without more modification.
@@oregonfordguy9812 you know you're in the right shop when the trucks need more mods to be legal
Congrats on the wrecker games and not breaking more than you did. Looked like a bunch of fun. Rory is a good guy. He is always helpful.
Eric you rock and having Rory spot you into the chute and line you and not wanting to miss it is totally awesome
No way to feeling bad, You get to go home heads high, you made it there, all behind you 2 making the trip , and participating, Lots of great video footage, Thumbs up
Eric for a forest based wrecker recovery driver, DARN you did well. You did your best and you had fun, that's all that anyone could have asked for.
May be next year, the wrecker games could be through a muddy forest and I'd bet my last 50c you'll be pulling the others out of muddy puddles.
That’s not a bad idea, actually, if this is to be an annual event, it should cycle to different locations, giving everybody the chance for the “home team” advantage.
Amen!
It was so nice to meet you all. Thank you for a great show! We’re fans for life now!
Nothing like a square body!!!
I still have my 1987 sierra classic
4 x 4 with lots of work done to it!!
Great job out there Eric!!!
🇺🇸
For rory to unload his rig after already having it loaded up to go with you is mad respect for you. From the few videos i have seen you need to hold your head up high because you done great and got the job done. Now come back to the mud, hills, and hollers that they would have a difficult time with the way there rigs are set up. Like rory said it works great for you where your from. Lots of respect to you from central Indiana. Maybe one day we can wheel together.
We followed the rest of the pack to the top, then walking back to our Rzr caught up to your trip. We had so much fun turning around and following you back up to the top. Your perseverance was so inspiring and entertaining. Hope your trip home is safe and you plan to come back next time.
You can hold your head high. Just because you couldn't do that one you still have an awesome truck for your area. We can't wheel without guys like you. Thanks for all you do,
For not being in their terrain, you and your team did damn good!
I want to express how proud I am of you guys. You were out of your home element using a tried tested and true wrecker for a totally different environment and you drove the wheels off it!
Youre the OG's of Wrecker youtube, and have inspired an entire sub culture, and none of this would ever have come around without BSF
Actually, this wrecker is the closest to being an original wrecker, but it is his second one, but based on I think the same year as the stock wrecker that broke its frame for a second time during an event he was working. He bought that original wrecker having been rode hard and put away wet, with a sketchy frame repair already. He did what the wrecker needed, including beefing up the frame if I recall, drove it for several years, then the frame breaks in half, sending the top of the boom in through the back window while towing a crawler out.
The current wrecker is based on a GMC/Chevy Dooley that was originally kitted out as a dump truck, but with a diesel that had issues, so the old V8 and the wrecker bed from the old wrecker were installed, reusing the original PTO on the new truck and he had a new wrecker. I think he built this current wrecker a decade or so ago.
Well done Eric and your team. You must be frustrated and a little disappointed after such a long drive but you took it well. It wasn’t about winning. Nice to see Rory helping out.
Rory is the kind of guy that will not leave anyone behind. I agree with your comment.
You have nothing to be ashamed of. You never gave up! you never gave in! I have followed your channel since your original wrecker and aways will, far as I'm concerned..You are the recovery king!
Hell yeah ERICs the MAN
No need for disappointment. The BSF wrecker is the most stock unit I saw in the clips and it did very well. Some of those custom rigs certainly would be quite the investment!
Can't wait for the videos for the upkeep and improvements.
What a Champ! You did a fabulous job! You are still #1 in so many ways!
You should be very proud of yourselves. Each part of the country requires different builds. You did an excellent job. I would like to see the others in your part of the country.
Eric, you did good. That was a tough course and put up your best fight. Things break and those are issues you need to deal with. You gave it your best shot, glad to see you were there.
A totally different element for you & the truck to be in. A lot learned & some fixes to be made. Hold your head up for everything you accomplished. Looking forward to upcoming videos.
Congrats on a great wrecker games. Thank you for driving all the way to Utah to take part!
Rory must really be as nice of a guy as I’ve heard to take a rig off the trailer and come up there to try and help get you through, then help you repair the truck and get out. Also the kind words about your truck not being built for this environment ring true. I’m sure his truck and the others would struggle much more in your neck of the woods. If you plan to upgrade the wrecker to come back next year I’m sure Rory would be the perfect person to talk to since he’s a square body guy who knows that environment. I hope someday Rory, Matt and the others can come wheel in the woods in your area. That’d be so fun to watch.
There are only a handful of people who have the experience, resources, and knowledge to do what you do. 5 of them were just at the Wrecker games. You're one of a very select group that actually do what you do for a lifestyle. BSF has been there, done it, and has the tee shirt! Strong work! Safe travels home!
You need to invite everyone up your way. If nothing else, you found out who your friends are, and you had a blast making that discovery. Thawing out was probably the best part. Your new lift hopefully will make life easier!!!!
That would be cool
It was so cool to meet you and see your truck in person. You guys definitely held your own out there. Watching you climb right up the waterfall and then find Matt struggling with it for 5 or so minutes was a great example. You folks are made of the same Midwestern grit as me and I salute you
Thanks! We very much appreciate the kind words!
Can't believe I'm still watching this old wrecker drive around, it's been saving people on video since I had dial up internet!! The best!
It was very cool seeing the wrecker hanging in there with those that may have been a little closer to their home environment. I'd say hold your head high
All things considered, the truck did pretty good for it being what it is and being built for its home terrain. I don't know too many guys that can switch between big sticky rocks and the mud and sand we have at home and not even change tires and still do that well.
No Heads hanging for this team!!! You guys did great and should be proud of the show you put on even if it wasnt the one you intended. I amsure we all feel that way. Cant wait to see the shop with the "new stuff"!
I love those old wreckers and yours has the stock look I go for! You never know what they can do until you try it and you are a great sport for giving it a go.🏆
I’m really glad that y’all went to the games ,
The truck is really impressive and I have enjoyed watching y’all for years now.
Hope y’all come back
I saw one video of the event so far. Absolutely brutal. Huuuge props to you for sending it big time.
I've watched you for a while now and never subscribed but seeing you the last few days convinced me I needed to be a part of what you got going on. Next year bring them boys to your neck of the woods for wrecker games and show them how it's done!
I never would of started watching Matt, Rory, Paul, or Merlin if I hadn't started watching you first. To be able to take your wrecker build for the woods and give those purpose built wreckers a run for their money, on their turf is something to be very proud of. Also maybe a little lower of gear might not be a bad idea. Would definitely make a difference towing some of those heavier rigs through the mud.
It was great seeing you and seat cover at the games Eric, you did just fine. I think the next step is to bring the gang to an event in your neck of the woods and see how those guys do in the deep mud. Maybe you could set it up as a fundraiser for a good cause....
Anyway, I love watching your channel, and I look forward to seeing more.
Congrats on the new lift. It will help you very much. You deserve it.
No spoilers, but this just shows how incredible the community is. Of course there’s more goodness to come.. it’s heartwarming how this community embraced the midwesterner!
Well done Eric! The world needs more people like you and Rory! 💪
Eric and the entire BSF Team have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of or any reason to tuck your tail between your legs. From the short videos I've seen you and the wrecker did one heck of a job outside your normal surroundings. I was so glad you were able to make the trip out to the wrecker games even though you have some work to do on the wrecker when you get back home. Safe travels back home and can't wait to see all the videos from all the channels.
You can be proud, I felt you did very well!
Really nice to see how you guys support each other. Just the way Rory said “I’ll spot you in there and line you up.” You can hear the genuine concern for a friend. This looks like fun and look how long they’ve been doing this. You can easily get hurt.
Then when Rory suggests that “it’s an improvement that needs to be made.” It’s just neat to see.
Considering the other trucks were specifically built for that terrain, and your truck is made more for muddy trails you did awesome! It's a win in my book.
Eric you have nothing to be ashamed of! I have a new appreciation of just how competent and capable you are as a team lead, tow truck driver and professional hauler!
Never feel bad about doing your best, with what you have. The terrain is very different from what you have at home, and you work a regular job. The desert rock crawlers have issues in the mud terrain that you have. Good job, and I pray that you have a safe trip home.
It’s amazing to see you taking that wrecker through as many of the trails as you did, going where purpose built rock crawlers struggle.
Eric, I love your philosophy and you never appear ‘rattled’; you are one of the original pioneers.
If you take into consideration where you took a wrecker designed for street use, you guys accomplished something that just shouldn't have been possible. Great job, it was just unbelievable!
We're so glad you tried the chute and kept the door from the Isuzu! You're drive and spirit are endless! We had a blast supporting our "home team" and all of the others as well. Thank you for everything!
Great job, Eric, watched other peoples CZcams's on tow truck games. I think you did great! Always a work in progress. like to see how some of those rigs do in the woods, where you normally are specially that great big yellow one, couldn't get around the trees. 😊
Super impressed by your team and the trucks performance. Really glad you guys made the trip out.
I love she said “I support all my friends” what a great attitude :)
Erick and crew, thanks for making the huge effort to come all the way out to Utah. You made believers out of the little red wrecker that could. Have a safe trip back home hope you come out again
You did an incredible job! Especially since you were on unfamiliar territory competing against guys who are local to the southwest!
It was so awesome to see you guys there and competing the way you did!! Thank you. We had a fantastic time. See you next year at Sand Hollow!
The fact that Rory helped is amazing. You couldn't have a more experienced guy to spot & help you. There is nothing to be ashamed about not making it up the shoot. So glad Eric you gave it a try. No regrets going home wondering if you could had made it. Really looking forward to further videos.
Eric you are the originator and godfather of Off Road Wrecking. In my book you are #1 and the true leader. Way to go your fans followers and supporters always stand behind you.🎉🎉
You all are the best and have such a great attitude!
Look forward to the rest of the videos and future videos repairing the truck and getting it back for woods recoveries!
I can't wait to see you finally do this!!! (You had to give up) as i understood this group was way of their beaten track so all the props to them for being there!
You’re still a world-class crew. You did an amazing job at the wrecker games.
Thank you
Congratulations for you Eric. You, and your truck was a masterpiece of skill. You are the guy, a really and a true men. Thanks from France !!
So glad for the video!! I was wondering where you were in the other videos people made. Y’all are great and the wrecker games wouldn’t have been the same without you!! I hope your wrecker can be fixed easily and inexpensively!!!
I really believe the boom placement on Eric's wrecker is just rite and the key to a good balance while towing a car through the obstacles! His wrecker works very well!
Mind you, he has an actual wrecker bed/boom. It may be a classic Holmes boom. Even Paul's wrecker is based on an actual wrecker boom, though he decided not to use the bed.
yeah the boom on pauls truck is a legit Wrecker boom, he opted to not use the bed because of the extra weight and width. he was trying to keep it as light as he could! I was bummed he wasn't able to use the old hydraulic winch set up, that thing would have pulled a house, but I understand he said it was just going to be too slow for what he needed and he didn't have time before the event to mess with it, so went electric. in the future it would be cool video for him to try to make the old original system work.
I have been watching your videos for the longest time you have done so many amazing recoveries and helped so many people.
So proud of you Eric, so glad to be a sponsor! Wish we could have made it as planned, looks like a good time and you certainly could have used an extra hand. Next year God willing, no back surgeries or family members passing away within a week or two of next year's event we can be there!
You're the best!

It was a pleasure to meet both of you at the games. You looked like you had a blast! Too bad about the chute but the effort was great. Safe travels home!
Well done...what a great experience for everyone. Keep the positive attitude going. 🏆
I still can't believe how well a real tow truck with leaf spring did out there climbing rocks. Incredible.
It was great to see y'all in Utah. Your wrecker is wonderful and is built for out Midwest terrain. It was great to meet you.
Hi Eric, hello team. There were no losers this weekend!!! Maybe one unlucky one. Your team faced the rocks and where possible did a good job again.
I watched with enthusiasm for hours. As I have been doing on your channels for a long time. Respect!!!! I hope you arrived home safely. Best wishes to the team!
Eric has nothing to be ashamed of ,his wrecker simply wasn't built for that terrain his recoveries are for the most part completely different from what they do in Utah. And I have watched all of the available footage that has been posted , and for the first time I realize that the chute is almost a vertical wall that they were climbing WOW!! and Rory even did it backwards !!
Can't wait to see you're vids from the games. You're truck is out of it's element there. They should have included a day in the snow and mud. Maybe not great for the spectators but fun for the viewers.
Next collab, let's have Matt build a frame, Paul build a drive train, Rory build the suspension, Eric build the body and and recovery systems, Robby do the body mods and paint, .....
Or divide the channels into teams to build competition vehicles for a wrecker rodeo.
Was a great event, awesome seeing you and your family get out of the snow and visit the desert.
You came n did a feat like no other. Excellent team and showed them skills and persistence to never quit. Be safe on journey home. 🙏
Definitely a rough and tough proven off road rig. Braver than I am, you came and wheeled in an element you are not really specially equipped for and did pretty darn good! My respect to the driver, crew and your wrecker!
Hey that's my Orange sticker/channel logo on your door. I was super impressed with you, your team and your truck.

Now to watch the Channel Grow so you can both continue to Do What you Do so well
its been so cool getting to watch all my favorite youtubers come together on these collabs over the years. the big red wrecker will come back stronger than ever.
It was an epic adventure
Nothing there to tuck tail about Eric. Your truck is built for an entirely different environment. I'd like to see those other guys go wheel in your back yard. Been watching you do the impossible with that rig for years. You should be proud of participating in this incredible event. Sincerely hope you go back next time. That is an awesome bunch of people out there. Have a safe trip back home.
