  • This was without a doubt the scariest and sketchiest recovery I've ever done, so I enlisted the help of my friend Jason with the Primal Outdoors CZcams channel that you can check out at / primaloutdoors . This is an area that basically right in our backyard and is a beautiful view of the canyon, river, and reservoir. But unfortunately someone thought it would be fun to jump a riding lawnmower off the cliff and down into the canyon. We wanted that eyesore out of there before it attracted even more garbage to be dumped over the edge, so I built a homemade gin pole gantry crane like is used in the oil fields and drill rig sites, then spliced together a couple of ‪@YankumRopes‬ to have enough reach with my ‪@harborfreight‬ Badlands winch. The job went perfectly and we got not only the mower, but some tires, and a bunch of small trash cleaned up as well.
Be sure to check out the upcoming PLS Bend public lands cleanup on July 11th right after the Overland Expo weekend to join Jason and I to clean up even more public lands!

Couple of things…1. The drone shots made this an impressive junk recovery video, shows the shear scale you were working against, 2. Mighty impressive driving abilities to park the trailer against the wheel chocks every time you had to move it around, 3. Being great stewards of the land is something most take for granted and others just blatantly ignore. Moral of the story … impressive group of guys!!

Casey, you should give yourself a little more credit. Personally I think your trailer/gantry set up was pretty smart. I live in the mountains of NC and wish I could come out to help with the clean up... since I can't, I am going to do some clean up here in our mountains in kind of a long range support thing.
    Thanks for all y'alls efforts!

Sad that people think that they can just toss there Junk anywhere, There was a spot in my area that was always getting tires, beds, old Tv's and more tossed into it, The town set up hidden cameras and now have caught several people dumping, they were arrested and fined and had to pay for the cost of clean up !!!

Incredible! When you started the video, I expected you to introduce your PLS friend as a cohort in this recovery. How did you find this trash, being you hate being so close to the edge? I would not expect you to have just walked up close enough and look straight down! Thanks again for your cleanup efforts.
