Most of the 30 souls that were lost (RIP) is because they got crushed by the spinning propellers while they were in a lifeboat
All the fatalities occured because the propellers were spinning. The propellers were spinning because Captain Bartlett wanted to beach the ship as the coast was nearby. When he got informed that some parts of the ship were getting flooded due to the propeller propelling, he decided to stop and evacuated everyone at once.
the britannic was actually built to be much safer than the titanic but in some ways even more so than modern vessels. titanic was built so that if 2 of her water tight compartments was flooded, she would stay afloat. Britannic was built so that if (correct me if im wrong) 6 were flooded she would remain afloat when the modern standard is 4. she also had better life boat launchers and more life boats. by all accounts she was the closest to being unsinkable a ship could get since the Great Eastern. however she sunk so easily and quickly not because of the mine she sailed into but because all of her portholes were open, which is against regulations, which easily flooded all her watertight compartments. also everyone aboard could easily have survived. everyone aboard was well trained medical and ship staff and the ship sunk in the morning in the mediterranean sea, no one was likely to drown. the deaths occurred because, against the captains orders, some lifeboats were launched and with the hull dipping down under the weight of the water, the propeller had become exposed on the surface. the lifeboats were drawn in and 30 met a violent end in the propeller blades. miss unsinkable herself narrowly escaped her death in one of these boats. Britannic’s end was tragic and entirely avoidable had regulations been adhered and the portholes kept closed.
Fun fact the titanic is actual 9 inches longer than the britanic.. and the britanic sunk in only 400 feet of water which means if it was standing up in the water half of the ship would be sticking out
The Royal Medical Corps nurses aboard the HMS Britanic sank it by opening up all of the port holes because they thought that it was too stuffy. When the Britanic hit the mine, the improvements that she had been fitted with post Titanic sinking (namely the waterproof bulkheads running all the way to the top deck) were circumvented by the open port holes.

The thirty casualties came from the mine explosion itself or the panic of the people aboard when they lowered lifeboats as Britannic kept moving, causing them to be shredded when they made contact with the exposed propellers. Hope this helps!
The reason why only 30 died is because there were enough lifeboats and the propellers were left on because there was a nearby island and sadly one of the lifeboats got sucked into the propellers
The britannic is actually the largest wreck because the titanic didnt stay intact. The bow part of the britannic did break because it hit the ocean floor since this area of water wasnt as deep as where the titanic is. The ship was longer than the oceans depth.
From what I know. All of the 30 victims were actually in lifeboats. Because of the fact that Britannic sank close to land, the captain believed that it was possible to save the ship by sailing to an island. However, it would be a terrible idea, since the now rising propellers were exposed to the surface. Two lifeboats ended up in their path, causing them to be sliced up and killing most of the occupants. Also, the fact that the ship was still moving forward allowed even more water from the increased reaction forces to the ship to enter even faster, making the situation even worse. If the ship never stopped, it most likely would have sped up the sinking.

Jaques Custeau, the french marine explorer, dived to its wreck in the Aegean Sea during the 1970’s. She lays almost inverted at some 80 meters below the surface in cold dark derp waters.
It sank faster due to the engine and propellers still on, that made it sink faster. Another reason is because since it was a hot day, a lot of the porthole windows open, sealing her fate when they went under.

The main speculated reason why Britannic sank was due to the explosion of the mine and speculated follow up boiler explosion causing the hull of the ship to deform which made it impossible for many of the forward water tight doors to fully close. Without those doors he fell into the same trap that took her Sister Titanic. However due to the shallow waters her bow hit the ground which kept her from breaking (fully) into two pieces due to the stress.

It ran into a mine planted by a German U-Boat (SU-M117 i think)
And this woman "Violet Jessop" survived the sinking of 3 sisters
💧 HE SAID LEARN!!!! 🚩 mind 💧 LEARNING IS KEY 🔑 TO A SUCCESS LIFE!
like how 2 of pictures of the "britannic" are the lusitania and one pic was even ai generated
Awsome🤩🤩
Much of the reason for such a low death rate, the ship was in much warmer ocean temperatures, and yes better prepared for a sinking.
Guess the Titan won't be visiting this ship any time soon.
BRITANNIC MY BELOVED💔💔💔
1. Not mystery, it hit a mine, 2. The explotion went off on the starboard bow...
Many shipwrecks are larger than Britannic
The largest ship on the ocean floor is the USS America CV66
It was scuttled it's not the same.
You get the Lusitania ship in the end of the video
She's the longest shipwreck on the ocean floor, but not the biggest in terms of weight
My great uncle is in the Britannic he was the painonist he played to his death
Titanic was actually slightly bigger than Britanic but Britanic was the biggest ship sunk in ww1
Britannic was larger by roughly ~2000GRT
Let's not talk about oceanga-
Iceberg vs explosion...similar fate 😂😂😂
It was sunk by your mine in 1915 it was not sunk by a German U-boat. It was sunk by a mine. They hit mine a sea mine.
I bet no one believed it would happen again back in 1916 am I right?
Plenty of larger ship have sunk such as the Derbyshire and Yamato and Musashi she was the largest ship lost during ww1 however
how can you say she was safer than the titanic hey she sank in less than a hour
She sank faster because she hit a mine as opposed to scrapping a iceberg, also 1500+ people died on Titanic and only 30 on Britannic
It sank faster due to the engine and propellers still on, that made it sink faster. Another reason is because since it was a hot day, a lot of the porthole windows open, sealing her fate when they went under.
There are 2 working theories for the Britannic. The first one is that it hit a sea mine. And the second is that it was sank by a German u-boat.
They aren't theories. It's pretty much proven that it hit a mine. People that say a torpedo sunk it are weird conspiracy theorists.
The Britannic struck a German mine sailing just off the Greek island Kea.
The reason why britannic only had 30 losses is because the ship sank in the morning instead of the the night like the titanic
Also, they were really close to an island. And there were actually enough lifeboats.
@@CruiseShip5555Only 2 lifeboats were deployed, both were unauthorized and they promptly got killed by the propellers.
@@FlatEarthKiller There was more then 2 launched? 2 or 3 (i cant remember the number) were hit by the ships starboard propeller they were the minority of lifeboats
The reason 30 died was despite the captains efforts to ground the boat and keep the life boats 🚢 on the ship the nurses ignored him and the life boats got crushed propellers in the end the life boats were deployed and 1035 made it out even the violet jessop who survived titanic in 1912 please pin 📌
I wish they raise Britannic and made it floating again and repair everything so that she could sail again, i would love to see Olympic class liner and aboard the ship
That would be 100% impossible. The ship is in horrible condition.
@@KCCereal yeah even though it's like 400 feet deep
@@KCCereal any ways there are nothing in this world that are 100% impossible but there are impossible things like time travelling.
@@MGY_1912 Raising the Britannic and using it would be impossible. Even if we did it, it would be 95% new ship. We might be able to reuse some unimportant small pieces but even that’s unlikely. I would find it cool if we built another Olympic class ship though.
@@KCCereal that's true
Did you know during the sinking of the Britannic there was no passangers
Of course there were passengers on board.
@@WALTERBROADDUS britannic never carried passengers, she was a hospital ship
@@EliteCian13 anyone who is not considered crew, is considered a passenger.
@@WALTERBROADDUS to be a passenger you need to pay, plus she everyone on board was crew
The main speculated reason why Britannic sank was due to the explosion of the mine and speculated follow up boiler explosion causing the hull of the ship to deform which made it impossible for many of the forward water tight doors to fully close. Without those doors he fell into the same trap that took her Sister Titanic. However due to the shallow waters her bow hit the ground which kept her from breaking (fully) into two pieces due to the stress.
none of her boiler exploded
@@EliteCian13 that we know of. Has anyone actually been in her deep enough to find out. (Gigiddy)
@@OutcastsRedeemer there is footage of her boiler rooms and it shows the boilers untounched
Brittanic was lunch in 1914 1 year later it was invented into a hospital ship in 1915 a year later it sunck in the agon sea in November 21 1916 it was 1 inch longer than the titanic and it sister ship was titanic and olimpic and the ship repairs were in their in the air
