    I’m coming up on my 1st year with a CNC. I originally got it to support my woodworking like for making parts etc. But it ended up the other way around. I’m on the machine constantly, making things I never thought possible. It’s a lot of fun.

    • @IBuildItScrapBin
      @IBuildItScrapBin  Před rokem +4

      I can't see it going that far for me, since it's much faster to make less complex parts using standard tools. But it does open the way to making parts that I would have avoided before, or even making parts fancier than I would have before.

    I enjoy your efforts and I appreciate your content. I have been with you since pretty much the beginning and will continue to watch what you post on you tube. I will miss seeing your other endeavors because although I get a lot out of your entertainment, I am ok with you working to improve your income. I am retired also and enjoy when someone helps me out with a 30 pack of beer now and then. I wish you the best!!!

    I would think that it would make sense to hire someone to help record and definitely edit for you - the assumption being that you could produce more and drive additional revenue

    • @IBuildItScrapBin
      @IBuildItScrapBin  Před rokem +3

      I can make additional revenue without hiring anyone by taking on a sponsor for every video I make. Actually, a lot more revenue.
      This isn't about money.

      @@FergusonBoatworks I have around 400 supporters on those platforms, so I thought it would be good to do this to thank them for stepping up. And it provides the motivation I need to actually do it.
      Plus, if I post them here "for free" it will cut into the views I'd get when I post the full build video on my main channel.

    If someone finds a CNC useful, GREAT !! More power to them. I just have no interest or desire for one. I just do small projects in my small wood shop such as small boxes, bottle openers, etc. I just have no need for one. But I'm not down on them. If someone wants one, heck, go for it is what I say.

    John, at first I recorded videos with my smartphone. I did everything, even editing, with the smartphone. It's craziness... And I could only record one at a time.
    After, when I got a notebook, I started to record many videos at the time. 😬
    It's much more fun, because if you get tired of doing something, you just do something else and keep going. But the amount of video clips and all the mess... Anyway, what I started to do is to use only one smaller SD card. So, every time I saw it was getting full, I stopped and copied everything to my notebook, separating the clips by folders - one to each project.
    Once I almost ran out of memory space on my network (😬), but I never lost another clip!
    Well... Except for when I forgot to record something... It happens. 😬
    Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

    Hey John I have a question that has nothing to do with this video. How do you get the Polyurethane construction adhesive off your hands? I used it for the first time this weekend and I thought I washed it off but it's still there because I can see it picked up all the dirt and it's also stuck to my hands.

    • @CrimeVid
      @CrimeVid Před rokem +1

      kirk d , to be honest, don’t get it on your hands in the first place ! If you are like me, messy, wear thin gloves, change them often, try harder ! When you have had a go with foaming polyeurathane adhesives, you will be more careful.

      There are wood glues made for outdoor use or humid climates, should be available next to regular wood glue.
