So much fun getting to participate in this shoot (that's me in the last scene). I can personally vouch that this product DOES WORK. It feels SO real, like they are literally sitting in front of you. Their hands look like they are actually coming out of the screen. Such a COOL product. Can't wait for it to hit the public!

Google has finally discovered autostereoscopy. Now please bring stereoscopic recording to Pixel and make your own autostereoscopic monitors.
This must feel trippy in a good way, I wonder if they are selling the camera system and software to be usable on any screen.
It would counteract the bulkiness of it.
Future updates needs to be more slick hardware wise, there are VR alternatives that looks promising from meta but to feel this 3Dness without a bulky headset on your face must be pretty wild IRL
It wouldn't work on any screen, the screen they use is special to give two different perspectives, one for each eye.

Genius. Uses face recognition AI to add filters for eye-placement congruency to a real conversation. That's a good product.

Our homes were built in 2004, and we still have not experienced fiber optic internet.
Can't wait for this to get cancelled in some time as well!

This open the way for a new family of codecs where the two parties exchange a pre trained personnal AI model in order for the other party to generate realistic fake sounds & images with a very high compression ratio.
Coupled with a motion detection of the head, a satisfying pseudo 3D effect can easely be generated, in addition to the glaze tracking.
This would be a cheap solution using existing hardware instead of expensive high end / low production hardware => mass market.
One key point to be more immersive is to respect the "true size" of the person instead of talking to a lilliputien. This enhancement requires a big screen, ideally the size of a full body. That is cheaper when done with a videoprojector than it is with LCDs.
I won a local trophee with such a design a couple of years ago.
