  • Meet the person hoping to take over from Sadiq Khan as the next Mayor of London. Susan Hall is the choice of the Conservative Party to take on the two-term Mayor, but is currently trailing in the polls. She joins Nick Ferrari to talk directly to voters and try to change this...
00:11 Caller Julia wants answers about the Hammersmith Bridge, as it remains closed to cars for a fifth year. Unfortunately, Ms Hall hasn't got all her facts together on the story.
04:17 Caller Matthew asks why we should have a Conservative mayor? Ms Hall insists people are sick of Sadiq Khan.
08:50 Caller Jane wants to know why taxpayers are having to pay for policing at Premier League football matches. Ms Hall, a Spurs fan, says clubs should pay 'a fraction' towards this cost.
12:05 Caller Lorna says she was 'driven out' of the capital by cycle lanes and narrowed roads and asks if Ms Hall has the 'courage' to reverse some of these changes to London's roads.
15:00 Alistair texts in to ask if Ms Hall still agrees that the US election was 'stolen' from Donald Trump. The mayoral hopeful reassures him that on Twitter you sometimes 'like things that you don't always like.'
16:44 Caller Dan wants to know how more officers will be recruited into the police force. Nick uses the opportunity to quiz Ms Hall on the starting salary of a policeman.
20:17 Pam texts in to demand more buses. Nick asks how much a bus fare is in London and gets a pretty blunt response.

Two bits of hilarity about this:
      1. The idea that Sadiq Khan, the mayor of one of the biggest cities in the world, somehow managed to illicitly stash away £500 MILLION to use for bribing the electorate.
      2. Tories trying to use the "We can't tell you what our plans will be because we don't know how much money there will be" when they've been trotting out their NPC "Where are Labour's plans!?" dialogue for only about 5 years now.

Typical tory, blame, ignorance, arrogance. Anything except taking responsibility, admissions of failure, and professionalism. No answers were given. This woman couldn't run a pith up in a brewery. Sadik Khan blah blah blah Sadik Khan blah blah blah....

I do not personally believe that Susan Hall is here for the politics or to be mayor, but to be ridiculed and take the focus away from the governments many, many, many failures…

No, people are sick to death of the tories. I cannot overstate this enough - it needs to change if we are to salvage any kind of future for the UK.

Forget it- Thatcherism is set to continue uninterrupted under Starmer. The Blairite ascendancy is well and truly in charge and the left will be eradicated from the party soon. Thatcherism/ neoliberalism is the root cause of everything that is wrong with the patient yet the same medicine keeps on being prescribed. As Einstein said, the definition of madness and all that. The voters under FPTP have had the society they voted for since 1979, with unions rendered almost powerless and wealth transferred from the majority to the rich- the first making the second possible. No-one is calling for the rejection and reversal of Thatcherism but it is the only answer to Britain's problems. Starmer has no meaningful answers as will be self evident two years into a Labour government when almost nothing has changed.

My heart bleeds for the woman in Norfolk. I wonder if she had a wood burner whilst in London which is adding to the pollution.
I have stayed in london. You dont need to drive in london, its very easy to get around without a car. Most people i know who live there dont have a car or if they do they only use it when going out of the city.
