  • Sir David Frost OBE was a British television host, journalist, comedian and writer.
He became well known for TV shows like That That Was the Week That Was in 1962. His success on this show led to his work as a host on American television. He became known for his television interviews with senior political figures, among them the Nixon interviews with President Richard Nixon in 1977 which were adapted into a stage play and film. Frost interviewed all eight British prime ministers serving between 1964 and 2016 and all seven American presidents in office between 1969 and 2008, He also presented Through The Key Hole.

I was at Wellingborough Grammar School during the 1960s. Each year a prominent, but (to us) boring famous person would be invited to do the school speech day. The only plus point was that we had the afternoon off from lessons.
In around 1964 David Frost was the guest speaker. He was a former pupil at the Grammar School. David was engaging and funny. The first and probably only time we ever laughed at something said from the platform. David’s dad was a local Methodist minister and for couple of years David was a Local Preacher

There are exceptions but it's the minority that seem to get the continual afterthought by people that remembered them. I think it's just a reality of life. People don't have the time, but you think they're hardcore fans would. Not always the case though Joe longthorne in Blackpool was like a florist shop !

I visit parents grave and spend time taking of very dead flowers every time. To the point I’m not having a pot for flowers on mine at all, no point, to me dead withering flowers is worse than none at all. Adult children have their own lives to be going on with, it isn’t the concern of anyone else. Famous people are just the same, once their wife / husband has gone that’s it. In David’s case his 32 year old son Wilfred( I think that’s his name) dropped dead out jogging just 2/3 after his dad so his widow and other 2 boys would have been knocked sideways by that. .
