This is a celebration of Betty's life and also it's a look at her final show at her funeral at st. Mary's church in Manchester .
Betty had previously appeared as Mrs Edgley in Coronation Street spin-off Pardon the Expression (1965-1966) opposite Arthur Lowe. In her early career she was a singer, appearing in musical films such as Boots! Boots! (1934), opposite George Formby, and in Penny Paradise (1938), directed by Carol Reed. She was made an MBE in the 2000 New Year Honours.

I haven't watched Coronation St for years, just not the same without the older cast members like Betty. She was good and could be humorous too.

Hello Joan she seemed a very level-headed woman from the interviews I've seen and I only once had personal contact with them. I asked for a signed photograph for a website I was constructing and she sent it along with a little letter. Thank you for the comments. Regards, Alan

Betty aways came across to me as a very nice person, no wonder she was so liked by so many.
Pity we have nowhere to visit. I wonder where she was laid to rest. R.I.P Betty.

Nice story about Beryl Fornby which was interesting. Shame she didn’t have an actual burial site but you have to respect the family’s wishes for wanting a private location.

I did watch it when she was in it and when I started a website for Roger Moore she was one of the first people to come graduate me and send me a signed autograph. Betty was my favourite character in Coronation st, and still is to this day, she had a warm personality, and was the sort of lady who would of been a 'nice auntie', speaking of family, her Mother sounded rather selfish, I was watching a chat show with her, when she mentioned that her mother had swindled her out of alot of her earnings. - Not good!!
I might try to download the old film, boots boots, im entreagued about watching it.
