- It's a guilty pleasure to be able to react to Tool again on this channel, for one because I find their music so fascinating, and two. . . my husband holds certain songs captive until I'm ready to react to them on this channel. Pushit is one of them. It's such an emotional, passionate, complex story of someone trying to exit a relationship, I can see why people note this as one of Tool's greatest works.

My girlfriend in High School used to say I listened to this album too much. Yet here we are 23 years later and people are reacting to it. This album will stand the test of time.

Fun Fact: When I first bought this album, I kept skipping PushIt because I thought it was filler of just bees flying around. I didn't know about it until a friend told me his favorite song was PushiIt. Now, it is one of my favorites, so happy they played it on their 2022 tour.

Maynard in my opinion is probably the best male singer of the generation...so good ....everything TOOL is a masterpiece

TOOL is a once in a lifetime band. Maynard's lyrics typically have several meanings. MORE TOOL please. Oh don't forget about A Perfect Circle and Puscifer.
"but I'd trade it all for just a little peace of mind" I love this line and the way he delivers it. I really feel it. I've lived it.
For me this song has always been about a person's inner dialog. Somebody suffering through a horrible bout of depression. The self loathing. The need to be loved. Every gambit of human emotions. This song means what you want it to. As does all Tool songs.
This is one of the Tool songs that saved me, aside from Reflection.
The tone in MJKs voice and time change during the bridge at "If when I say I might fade like a sigh if I stay here" still gives me chills even 25 years later
Adam Jones gives voice to his instrument as much as Maynard does. You can just feel the punch of his power chords!
