- I visit Street Machines Auto Sales and film this sweet 1979 Pontiac Firebird Formula, a classic muscle car from the late 70s. Not a Smokey and the Bandit edition Trans Am, but very cool and sounds great. The custom duals even have T/A tips. Enjoy the Sony 4K Ultra HD compatible video and feel free to email with any questions. This classic car is currently for sale.

Nice ride. The 301 NA responds really well to true dual exhaust system with a center crossover.
Makes sense, appreciate you watching & commenting
Thats what we like no music just the sound of the V8 another great classic , wish we had on our roads in the UK. You fellas in the US have all the best sounding classic cars. I think I saw this type of car in a Clint Eastwood movie (Thunderbolt & Lightfoot) would I be right ?
+spike little I'm not remembering that movie but I love Clint! I'll check it out. Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. The E-Type Jaguars are among the most beautiful cars ever built in my opinion.
+spike little the wrecka 79 T/A in the hunter....pretty funny....steve McQueen movie
This is amazing classic Pontiac with awesome car sound.
+Classic Gamer Right!? Thing sounds GREAT for a 301, runs as good as any 350 too
I drove a black version one time. It had the turbo with the off-set hood scoop. What a blast!!
nice video, nice car, runs really well.
Thanks 👍
Looks great sitting there idling.
Can't wait to paint my formula. Love the two tone paint scheme. Mine was originally starlight black and gray with gold stripes
Very cool one
Timeless styling. Great video and no crazy music. You have a great looking car there bud. I could stare stare at a car like that for hours and not get bored.
Appreciate that. Still making car videos
I own a darn near perfect '79 Solar Gold Trans-Am,but I would LOVE to own a silver '79 Formula JUST LIKE THIS ONE to go beside it.
I agree! Did you see my last TA video recently? Appreciate you watching, Tony
Definitely the best driving Gm product 70-81. Yes I know about Corvette, and Camaro. There great too. I just think firebird, formulas, and Trans Ams, were even nicer!
Chris Baumann I agree much nicer with better exterior styling
They are nice, Monte Carlos drive really well too
Beautiful Formula ( super clean ‼️ ) Wow !!! I like it ... I have an 80 T/A redoing now , just got my 383 Skip White Stroker 383 delivered the other day. Gonna be nice
Awesome do you still have it
I have a 383 solid roller in mine. Monster. Got a t56 to kick the party up a notch. Made 490 on thedyno with the k771 comp cam
Clean looking ride...
Appreciate you checking it out
Would love to find a W72 400 4spd, 79 Formula, loaded with t-tops, pw, pdl, tilt, sir, cass, rear-defog and etc...
It would be a very RARE find. Only 1 out of 10 Trans Ams had that engine that year. They actually stopped making that engine in Jan of 79. I heard they wete left overs from 1978.
Be a cool one no doubt
Believe only 346 W72 Formulas built in 79.
@@thud9797I heard that. I would love one.❤
Sounds like it was floored the entire time
Yup. We let 'em eat. Sold it too
@@samspace81 my brother had a 76 formula 400 w/4sp. BLK on camel, and in Dec of 78, special ordered a 79 Trans am. 403/auto w6s package and loaded optioned but T-tops.. Nocturne blue/camel cloth interior gold eagle and emblems.. 41 years later, those are my Favorite birds
new UK subscruber .
+spike little Wonderful! Thanks new friend over the Big Pond. I hope you enjoy the channel, plenty to see and more to come.
Anyone have a 2022 value estimate of
The exact same car as this if one were to come available?
try checking google
Mainly because there was no Smokey & the Bandit edition. It's just what people call anything with black and gold decals.
haha true
she's a beauty. Now fix that steering wheel emblem
Thanks Ben
GREAT CAR put the pipes are so wrong, please set them they way they should be..
Sounds to loud to be stock!
It did have some good power, previous rebuild. Thanks for checking it out and following Samspace81, Dave
Jesus Christ it doesn’t sound like a V6
lol
It’s a V8
Okay, once and for all: A Trans AM is not a model. It's a Firebird with an appearance package. So other than an ugly decal on the hood and really heavy ground effects. A Firebird Formula and T/A are the same. That goes from first to fourth generations. Sam has a great car here, more sought after than a T/A.
Yes the formulas had the same drivetrain as the TAs yet were lighter..
and weren't carrying the owner's attention-seeking ego!
Mark Chas each car is a different model and has a different VIN to prove it.
S87 Firebird
T87 Esprit
U87 Formula
W87 Trans Am
These are 4 different models and each has different standard equipment on each so it's not just one Firebird with different packages tacked on.
Actually the screaming chicken on the hood was an extra cost option on T/A.
Thanks for watching 👀
