- In this motovlog, we venture back into the simulation known as virtual reality to discuss and review the SC-Project CR-T exhaust that is fitted to my 2017 Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory. Stick around if you want to hear some glorious thunder, and hear about what the exhaust is like to virtually live with!

Just recently installed the Leo Vince LV-10 carbon on my 21 RSV4 only $330 and flashed it with the upmap to the Race Dekat map and my goodness it's loud. I always ride with ear plugs and the few times I don't it's deafening. Your bike sounds awesome and it looks like your simulation is quite close to me. Hope to see you out there.
May our paths cross one day 🫡
I have run a SC Project SC1-R myself on my 2018 tuono v4 1100 rr and it sounds awesome is plenty loud especially with the db killer off
Team SC1-R here! The sound is loud enough without being obnoxious and the exhaust looks is simply beautiful. I think the best looking exhaust out there
@@yukikaze8721 yeah i also love the shape of it
It’s a great looking exhaust, and great sounding, too!
The smaller the pipe the louder it is, keep up the videos , I've my heart set on an RSV4 & your videos are very very helpful , to the point , humble & no frickin bells & whistles 👌🏾👍🏾
Fact! Thank you, appreciate the support and hope you’re able to get on the right RSV4 soon! 🙂✌️
Depends where you are - in Europe many tracks are limited to 101db or lower - the Akra squeezes through on those - but the shorter cans do sound great👍🏻👍🏻
Good point! A friend of mine with a 20 Tuono V4 was at Laguna Seca on the Friday before that race weekend back in June. He also has a CR-T and got black flagged for exceeding the 105 dB limit 😅
I agree with you, I have the same exhaust, but my can is carbon.
I think deep down all CR-T owners feel this way 😂
I feel the same way. I have a 2019 V4 and it came with the CR-T... If I had to buy an exhaust, CR-T wouldnt be my first choice. Am I going to buy something less obnoxious??? Hell no, I have learned to love it. Definately grew on me.
Yeah it took some time for it to grow on me too. But at a point, I just stopped thinking about swapping it and accepted it as it was.
I'm still trying to decide if I want to go with the SC Project CR-T or the Akrapovic Carbon Racing Slip-On can on my RSV4.
We'll see eventually. Still just enjoying the bike mostly stock.
If I were in your position, I would go Akra. Very clean sound. The Graves sounds very similar, just a bit louder, so maybe that’s worth a look too if you don’t mind the aesthetics. 🙂
Akra long pipes for me all the way. This crt is just too raunchy on all bikes, and frankly, pisses off too many people. Especially cops. I'm one of those weird guys who actually prefers the sound with the dB killer in. But that typically kills a lot of power up top so I'd let go of it.
Your graves was way better btw.
Totally respect that. I actually have never had a complaint about it from anyone, but I’m sure people have rolled their eyes and talked smack as I’ve gone by 😅 Perhaps I will swap it out for another Graves or the SC-1R someday.
Do these tuonos require tuning adjustment aside from the race ecu when running the cr-t can? I just threw a cr-t on my 19’ Tuono, replacing my akropovic. I noticed the idle has a bit of variance in sound vs what would be heard with the akropovic installed.
My bike has the Race ECU, which I understand is a blanket "run extra rich to prevent knock" map designed to be used with any aftermarket exhaust, although it typically yields little to no power gains. You could try another flash such as Gabro or OpenFlash to see if that helps, but I can't say whether or not that will change things. At worst, you would have a little more power and smoother delivery than the Race ECU provides.
Does the bike have a tune? Have an up map with a Gabro tune on my 2020 Tuono misano, made a huge difference combined with a Leo Vince titanium slip on
Hey Hayden! Sure does, but it’s just the Aprilia Race ECU flash. The Tuono RR I had before my Factory had a Graves slip and an OpenFlash tune. It was noticeably punchier, particularly in the mid range!
I have both the akrapovic carbon and crt. Gotta say crt is my choice. Its loud af but im used to it. I love to ride beside people with their windows down and drop a gear lol. I know I'm a jerk lmao!!!
I try to be nice if I’m going by people with their windows down, but I’m sure I’ve startled plenty anyways 😅
I just got the CR-T for my RSV4 RR Missano and it's insane! Lol since it's almost straight piped do you think we need to make a special tune?
Nice! If you want optimum performance, then yes, absolutely. I have the Aprilia Race ECU flash and that’s just fine for me. 🙂
I just installed SC Project S1 on mine, earplugs only otherwise headache in a minutes
And plenty of ringing in the ears!
Graves > SC Project for me. That SC is awesome but for practical purposes it’s just tooo dang loud.
Very true. No way I could live with it if I had to commute on the bike!
No one gonna talk about the transition 🤣
