    NH hotels were my favorite hotels when I lived in Europe, they routinely had LATE 5pm check out.

    I am with Greg with them Lifemiles, I really value simplicity and less mental bandwidth towards difficult to deal programs like LM.

    From what i can tell The Edit is only offering hotel points on chains that chase offers cards for. So yes for Marriott and IHG and no for Hilton

    All Avianca lounges are part of Plaza Premium Lounges, so you can enter free with AMEX Platinum and/or Venture X. There's a couple of Avianca lounges in Priority Pass but not all of them

    So there is a little trick if you know there is award space and you don’t see it listed on lifemiles due to it not being a direct route with say lufthansa for example. You select search by lufthansa or carrier from and to a destination they do fly with the date you want. Then change the destination “only” to the one you know they should have and you should see them all.

      When you change the destination doesn't that just cause it to do a brand new search? -Greg

    I find a lot of flights on United out of Houston. I routinely book last minute flights buying miles and save a time of money. Where I struggle is getting to Asia. I’m going to try those filter searches on Eva and Ana and see what that yields .

    If you can just buy Avianca LifeMiles for 1.3cpp, and imagine you had an intro bonus card to rebate some of the cost of purchasing them, then wouldn't it be a waste of oints to transfer? Wouldn't it be more mathematical to redeem points for travel poortal flights that cannot yield outsized value, then buy avianca miles on an intro bonus?

      Nope. That's definitely something we'd have talked about on an episode like this if they did though!

    question- I've had the no-fee Hilton got a decade, but changed to a surpass and got a bonus 7 yrs ago, and it won't allow me to re-sign up for a surpass and get a sign up bonus. have you heard if Hiltons lifetime clock expires?

    • @Zenichiro
      @Zenichiro Před měsícem

      Google doctor of credit Hilton no lifetime. The link bypasses Amex popup and instant approval.

    • @shadowblade232
      @shadowblade232 Před měsícem

      It's probably Amex pop-up jail, not anything on Hilton's side.
      I've had multiple variations of Amex Hilton cards and successfully gotten sign-up bonuses on the same card(s).

    Nick Should have asked Lifemilles why they aren't partnered with Chase.

    • @frequent-miler
      @frequent-miler  Před měsícem +1

      I did! Chase has a minimum number of US members to consider partnering and LM doesn't yet have it.

      @@frequent-miler so is this your attempt to get LM more members? Do we need to sign up more people to the Lifemilles system?

    I got the free night certificate from Hilton before hitting the spending requirement. It arrived too early for a planned trip next year. So people interested in Hilton cards might want to consider the time of application.

    • @seanfetsko233
      @seanfetsko233 Před měsícem +1

      You likely had pending charges you didn't account for. They don't accidentally pay out subs.

    • @yunalee5671
      @yunalee5671 Před měsícem

      @@seanfetsko233 I was far from the requirement and didn't have many pending charges. I was also surprised to receive the sign-up bonus early (about ten weeks after my application). I am not sure if this applies to everyone, but I would like to share the data point.

    In a similar situation as Greg of only being able to get one Hilton card at the moment- between HH card and Surpass. Also got the biz card and going to earn the FNC soon. Still torn but leaning towards HH. Best long term strategy. Family language could be added. Get Surpass within a year after getting HH, then upgrade HH to Surpass in 12 months. Same logic to get HH Aspire. Biz + HH would yield at least ~350k HH Points + 2 FNCs, Gold Status, and $240 in credits for $17K spend and $195 AF. Biz + Surpass when hit MSR on surpass would yield at least ~415k HH Points + 2 FNCs, Gold Status, $440 in credits for $18k spend and $345 AF. To me the additional points are not worth it, and the additional $12k to spend to get the additional FNC on the surpass could be used to hit other SUBs.
