    2024 Hilton cards are the Catalyst of my setup. No restrictions on their FNC is unbeatable.
    I don't mind putting the Spend on my Hilton Business because not only do you get the free night, youll also have all those points that you gained, doing that spend.
    I plan on having my $15k done by April. Im already a little over $3k in.
    Gold status can get you upgrades if you ask. Diamond status has been Great for me.
    Despite what goes around on CZcams, everyone doesn't have Hilton Diamond status. A lot of people dont even have a Hilton Honors account
    Ill get the Bonvoy Brilliant one day but ill still keep my Hilton Aspire and maybe my Hilton Business

    • @MattWelterOfficial
      @MattWelterOfficial  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Completely agree with you Sledge! It seems like everyone likes to talk about how saturated Diamond Status is. But for me, I've actually had good success in getting room upgrades, especially internationally, with just Hilton Gold Status. Excited to pick up the Aspire sometime soon as well. And yeah totally get that, the Hilton FNC's are so valuable that putting the spend on the Biz or Surpass it to get another one can definitely be worth it. Thank you for watching my man!

    Here’s my hot take: the Hilton card with the most value in 2024 is the HH card with no AF. Silver status unlocks the key benefit with Hilton, the fifth night free on points award. The trouble with the free night award being uncapped is you either have to spend 15k to get a free night at a massively expensive property (and how will you afford the rest of your stay?) or you have to have the Aspire and somehow make the credits work. To do that, you need to stay at Hilton resorts twice a year (not easy), use Clear, and fly frequently enough to trigger the credits. Marriott and Hyatt’s caps at least pay for the AF on the cards so you get what you pay for. As you can tell, I’m still salty about the changes

    • @krisrock4589
      @krisrock4589 Před 5 měsíci +3

      Surpass credit is easy to use just eat at a Hilton restaurant or buy a Hilton gift card. It’s just a positive $50 value card if you don’t even hit the 15k spend as long as you stay at hiltons ever.

    • @MattWelterOfficial
      @MattWelterOfficial  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Totally fair Elliott, and can totally see your argument! If you aren't a Hilton loyalist, then I think that makes a lot of sense to still have Silver Status, a high welcome bonus via the HH Card, etc. However, to answer your question, what I did with my Free Night Cert.. In Cancun for my honeymoon, I stayed at a more affordable all-inclusive property for 5 nights to take advantage of the 5th night free, and then used my FNA at the expensive Waldorf Astoria 20 minutes away. I think most people use their Hilton Free Night Award's this way, to find a centralized property for most of the trip with upside (an expensive property in the area) where a Free Night Award could be utilized. But totally understand that you do need to be traveling a lot/especially at Hilton Props to get value out of the Aspire. Thanks so much for watching!

    The quarterly $50 credit are pretty easy to use. All it really takes is two trips. Book in winter for a trip in spring. While at your stay, the overages of using your food and drink credit can easily top $50. Rinse repeat for summer and fall.

    Great video on the Hilton cards Matt! Definitely helpful advice on how to use the statement credits too since the credits are not just simple annual ones! I also agree that Hilton Gold is pretty nice to have for the benefits - like the breakfast credit! Also, mic sounds crispy! Awesome addition for the channel!

    • @MattWelterOfficial
      @MattWelterOfficial  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Thank you Stan! Yeah at the very minimum I think Hilton Gold Status gets a bad rap because even if you don't get room upgrades, it's still an easy $15 in value per day just from the Free Breakfast or Food Credit. Pumped the mic sounds good as well!

    I def need that Hilton video where you show how to farm those Hilton points!
    I didn’t know about 5/24 until it was too late, now I’m stuck at 7/24 until the middle of 2025. As upset as I was about learning I’m canceled from Chase for now, I stepped back a second and realized that I have a whole year and a half to plan, or at least try to plan, a strategy where I can start working on Welcome Offers while remembering to stay under 5/24.
    Keep up the great work!

    I appreciate your insights on how to use the Surpass quarterly credit! I didn't even think about going to dinner at a Hilton property restaurant to trigger the credit. I'm excited to see how well I can utilize my Gold status from the Hilton Business when I visit Portugal in May.
    While I won't get the food and beverage credit, the free breakfast should really help. Hoping for a room upgrade as well since I'll be there right before the start of tourist season 🤞
    Great video as always, Matt!

    really wish I was not pop up blocked on the Hilton Aspire right now. Tried for the base card the other day too since cheap and could update it in the future to an Aspire...but blocked for that one too. Met spend requirement on the Surpass back in August and just this past weekend FINALLY got my bonus points and free night certificate. 2 free night certs will be nice to use for traveling this year!

    With that said, $50 gift cards like you said with the Surpass is how I’m using my Surpass, until I downgrade it that is.

    I don't have any Hilton cards but they seem to be a fan fave. I would probably want to get the Aspire since I already have Gold status with my Platinum. I just don't stay at Hilton properties that much to justify the card or the AF. Great vid Matt💥

    The only thing better than 1 FNC is 2 FNCs. I put most of my non travel spend on the Surpass card for the FNC and receive a 2nd FNC with the Aspire card. The two cards are the foundation of my system as they cover all my spend categories. I can see why someone would be annoyed that you cannot retain the full value of the resort and airline credits with only one trip but the credits are easy to use. There is enough benefit on both cards to make up the AF without even using the FNCs.

    • @MattWelterOfficial
      @MattWelterOfficial  Před 5 měsíci

      That's awesome! And yeah the FNC's with Hilton are so valuable that in a lot of cases, like yourself, it could be worth putting 15k in spend on a Surpass to get another one. That's awesome that you value those Hilton FNC's so highly!

    Great video on Hilton cards! I don’t have any yet even tho everyone raves about them. I’ve been sticking to Hyatt and Marriott (fanboy of the Ritz-Carlton card) so I don’t have a solid use case for Hilton cards. Definitely gonna continue to consider them, just gotta make sure you can use those stingy credits!

    • @MattWelterOfficial
      @MattWelterOfficial  Před 5 měsíci

      That Ritz Carlton Card is pretty powerful! I'm planning to add the Bonvoy Boundless soon with the strategy of potentially product changing to that Ritz Card as well. Totally fair if you don't have as much of a travel loyalty to Hilton & their Credits don't make as much sense. However, you could always at least add the $0 Fee HH Card for the Zero downside but still with Hilton Silver Status & right now has that elevated 100k offer. Thanks for watching Cody!
