Harsh, Mudryck is still 21. Not his fault. People hyped him so much because Artera wanted to sign him. But Arteta had plans for him how to integrate him in this young Arsenal team. This is not the case at chelsea. He is not Graham Potter signing so he might end getting lost at Chelsea. That long contract does not help. 100 grand a week for 8 years contract will keep anyone in their comfort zone for a long time .

As Chelsea's season progresses I am convinced that Potter did not have a hand in most of the signings. He did not want Mudryk. Mudryk was sought after by only one manager in the world, Mikel Arteta. Poaching other people's targets is not a transfer strategy. Mikel knew exactly how he planned to develop and deploy him and Potter did not have those same visions. Chelsea is spending money without a transfer strategy.
When Mudryk was being hyped up in the media and I found out that his claim to fame was largely a display of his technical abilities on TikTok, I couldn't help but be reminded of that Portuguese street player that Alex Ferguson brought to Man United after he had been recommended to him by Carlos Queiros. I've completely forgotten his name.
I understand that people sometimes become bedazzled by flair and elaborate displays of technical ability, and in SAF's case, the player was recommended to him by someone who's opinion he trusted, but the people who are in charge of transfer business should know better than to gamble on young players who have little to no history of a sustainable performance level. High technical ability is good and all, but there are so many other things that play into whether or not a player is able to utilize their skill set on a regular basis.

Some players are born ready made , some need coaching . Some coaches recognize players they can improve and take to a new level , arteta saw that . However there are players that also develop themselves or find coaches that make them grown. I.e Benni McCarthy coaching Rashford
