How Much We Charge To Mow This Mansion [NOT CHEAP]

  • How much we charge to mow this mansion. In today’s video we will breakdown exactly what we look for when givng a lawn care estimate and exactly what we would charge to mow this mansion. We did get sidetracked a bit because the customer hit us with a huge $6,300 side job they want done also.
    We do a size and price breakdown for lawn care using the LMN software program.
    This helps us save time and money. We don't haver to get our measuring wheel out and walk the entire property by hand. We can us the software to get the footage and even acreage for the estimate quick and easy.

    I remember doing landscaping with my grandpa sophomore-senior year of high school & we did a church property every Friday for $1600 yeah $6400/mo just off that one job, & we would mow the 3 acres of land behind it once a month for $2500 Rest In Peace Grandpop I'm thanking for everything you taught me in my now family owed successful career, I purchased a $368,000 home in Duncanville,Tx last year!

    I never ask them what they want done. I walk around and determine what I would want done (being a neat freak / OCD guy who loves a nice yard), and develop a price based on that. My price always includes every possible add on they could want.
    Qualifier: We do yardwork only; no landscaping. Bidding a landscaping project would be more like a handyman project, to me. It would be more involved. But, with yardwork, we all know what they want: a beautiful yard.

    Wow..... mind blown. I mow 1 acre with a pool for 500 a month. I thought it was a ton of edging but it’s nothing compared to this property. I’m in Florida so people don’t get that shock you’re talking about. #1 thing is don’t fold on your price. Lose 1 get 3 more mentality. If u keep working for chump change and shoring yourself you will only hurt yourself in the end. I feel that price is wayyy too low. I’m not starting this zero turn for less that 1150 a month. Great channel though.... you guys stay blessed🙏🏽

      @godw1ll99 Před 3 lety

      depends on where you are doing the cuts. different prices for different neighborhoods and different cities/states. i would suggest giving a high price then if the customers dont bite then lower a bit till they do then you know what people are willing to pay. just know that the more you charge the more the customer is going to expect from you. you cant always just charge top dollar. you need to find what works for you and the level of services you provide. personally my pricing strategy for maintenance type jobs is that if a crew of 3 worked a full 8-10 hour day that i want the company to profit $500 after all expenses. thats what works for me and the level of services i provide. on the other hand i did a retaining wall that took 3 days and charged $7800 and after all expenses i profited about $3500 so it all depends. my pricing strategy for things like hardscape is labor time and materials times 2 or all expenses plus %50 for my profit margin. depends on what kind of job. mulch is $75 - $80 per yard installed which does not include cost to prep for mulch. this might help people price their jobs if they just dont know how to begin figuring out what to charge but like i said its different for everyone. i know a company that charges every single job by estimated man hours at 30 an hour per guy and nothing else. it works and is a guaranteed set profit and they profit nearly 100k a year but they dont make nearly as much as they could.

      A commercial properties biggest bill is usually the maintenance bill. And when you are looking at a property this large then you can see it’s close to a commercial property. Not to mention the mortgage payment on a home like this far exceeds $1,000 a month. So it is all relative.

BUT MY HAIR IS CURLY, AND SHE DOES A WAY BETTER JOB THAN THOSE CHEAP PLACES, I'VE HAD SOME TERRIBLE HAIRCUTS AT THOSE CHEAP PLACES. ALSO, THE CHEAPEST PLACE OR PRODUCT MAY NOT BE WHAT YOU WANT. As soon as I seen the property and considering looking at it on video, it looked more like a 2 acre size yard or a little more but from what I was seeing and me just basically pricing by the style of the yard and the terrain as far as slopes and banks and ditches or level to rolling style ground.... I also can see if it's a smooth ground or is it a rough type of ground and then I try to see how much weed eating there is to work around with a weed eater and doing it by myself... where I live, that would be a $350 per cut with weed eating and edging and I would say no less than $300 with only cutting and weed eating each time but your price estimator is pretty well on point,,, even though I don't use anything like that but I generally go look at places and price them by just how I see everything and walk over everything completely... I do lawn Care on the side as a sort of supplemental income so to speak but not anything like a main income but I have several different properties I take care of and try not to pick up no more than just a few new ones each summer because every so often I may lose one here or there and that will always happen with anyone that does it enough or for long enough even with long time customers, certain uncontrollable circumstances can pop up

    Wow prices have went up since I use to do lawncare LoL. I know y'all have a lot if expenses so it's definitely justifiable. When I use to do yard work on my own (my full time job was landscaping on an army base) we use to charge $40 to mow and edge a 1/2 acre property and that was with a push mower LoL. That was also around 12 or 13 years ago though.
    I would love to start up my own business in lawncare but to buy the equipment, including a truck and trailer, I just don't have the capital atm.

      @@SpencerLawnCare hey, it's not good for a diesel to start and stop constantly. They're meant to run for several hours. Plus, they cost a lot to maintain. Gassers all the way!

    • @SpencerLawnCare
      @SpencerLawnCare  Před 3 lety +8

      We can tell if it is or not if we go out to the location. If we do it over the phone. Yes we will ask. It doesn’t hurt anything to ask.

    It would be cheaper for her to buy a top-of-the-line riding mower, edger, and blower and do it herself. I mean this is creeping up on 10K a year just for lawn care. If it were me, I may even consider buying a small lawn company that is for sale and managing it as a side business with these numbers.

    i dont know what state ya'll in but in michigan ..everyone wants services for the bottom dollar .. yeah negotiation is great and dandy .. but at the end of the day .. you need something in your pockets lol ... usually i start handing out discounts on major projects throughout the year if lawn maintenance is your main money maker ..
