Hello friends!
Today I'm excited to kick off a new start within a series that has been a bit of a roller-coaster for me. This is my second attempt at a conversion of a HAED cross stitch pattern into a diamond painting, on a blank canvas! I anticipate that this will be a (very) long-term project and that I'll continue to learn a lot as I go along.

Katie, I'm so happy to see you excited again about this project. Can't wait to follow your progress. I agree that no matter what type of canvas someone works on it has to be manageable for them to do otherwise they might loose that joy of the craft.
OMG! I’m actually cross-stitching that pattern right now…. There’s SO MUCH confetti in it but it’s beautiful! Can wait to see your progress!
All I can say is - OMG. This looks overwhelming.
I'm also working on an HAED conversion with EverMoment drills (I got the canvas from HAED directly though), and I can tell you the drills are an absolute dream! Some of the best quality squares I've ever seen, better by far than the older DAC diamonds. I think you're gonna have a great time!

Evermoment has such nice quality canvas and drills. I am working on a custom for summer with the master from them and it has been great. (I may actually like the diamonds more then DAC’s). I am excited to see your progress as you work through this project.

I have done several custom DPs from EM. The first ones were on double sided adhesive and my recent ones have been on poured glue! Yay!!! The results have been fantastic (even the ones on double sided adhesive)
I just finished a custom of our sweet new puppy. It was my husband's favorite photo from the day we got her at 8wks old. It turned out SO AH-MAZING! It had insane confetti however, even with that it was SO enjoyable because 1. The subject matter 2. The quality of the canvas and the diamonds. I had very little trash, no popping drills and no gapping. I actually had that satisfying "snap" when placing the diamonds. I am confident that your experience will be a positive one as well.

Good luck Katie! I am currently working on an EM custom. I am enjoying it. The drills to me are consistent with DAC drills honestly.. Have fun! I have completed other EM's and am completely satisfied.

Evermoment is where I got my custom to fix the crappy image I was doing before. I love them so much, but I know people dont like AliExpress 😭🤣 Just saw this after commenting on your other video! Also I was definitely yelling for you to open the tubes 🤣

Loved the video! I'm so sorry that your last conversion project didn't work out. Aimee Stewart and her shelfs is the reason I started to cross stitch. It seemed so hard to get all the materials for the diamond painting conversion that I just decided to learn how to cross stitch instead😂 But I'm really looking forward to seeing you complete this as a diamond painting😃
It seems to me Katie that you are not happy unless you are stretching your creative wings to the max! I absolutely adore the image you will be creating but I know I would just have to approach it as a normal diamond dot. You blow my mind! 🤩😱😳

My Custom painting for Summerwiththemasters2022 came from evermoment and I am enjoying it the drills are great the canvass I love and I have two cross stitch patterns for HAED that I will be ordering the blank canvasses and drills from evermoment. Can't wait to see the kitting up video I loveeee kitting up videos 🤣😂🤣
Congratulations on your retry of a very difficult and complicated conversion! It makes sense that you needed to do a first try of the project to iron out the facets and difficulties that arose. If you only end up with one preproject for this canvas, that is very encouraging. I know with most of my former sewing attempts, I didn't feel like I really understood what I was doing until I had actually finished. What will you do with the eight canvases? Will you put them together or on separate hangings? I am so happy that you're happy 😊.

I've tried doing this with a HAED cross-stitch pattern also. It was sooo much confetti that I couldn't stick with it. Only did a very small section. I still have everything just in case I want to try again. : )

Hi Katie I'm actually glad you got from EM. I am curious to see what your take is on their materials when you start working with them. I personally get all of my customs from EM because I think their quality is really good. I love their canvases since they changed to poured glue. Enjoy and I am looking forward to following along 😀

I love this video! I know there are lots of videos out there on how to convert a chart. I have my Woodie chart by manzano and I’m very intimidated to start the conversion
I have that pattern in the original not max colors but realized I would never finish it in cross stitch :( converting may work but that is alot!!

I hope source all materials before september, so I can start the canvas right as drills and chills start! (No idea whether it runs this year, but I will do the canvas anyway🤣) I will do a smaller one, mini magic autumn from head.

I went to both of the facebook groups regarding the drill conversions. How did you decide which swaps to use? I even went to the craft store and compared so now I have several options for some of them and I don't know what to do lol! Help!
How have the drills been? Also, how much did you add on to your drill quantities to allow for bad drills and spillage?
Nooooo way you are also converting the same chart as me! Started a few months ago, but I have to say that I am not very far. I am splitting it in four panels. Never put seperate panels together before so I hope everything works! We could be painting buddies here 🤗🥰

I’m not sure if it’s an exact percentage, but you end up with extra no matter what because they only have bags of drills in certain quantities (it’s something like counts of 200, 750, etc) and they always round up. You could manually add on extras when you’re giving them your numbers, though!

I don’t have a video that goes into more detail than this, no, but there are people that have laid it out in detail in the HAED Diamond Painting Facebook groups! I’ll see about doing a video on this in the future, as well.

I want to do the Sanctuary by Spangler I bought the supersize and regular size the supersize is gigantic in diamond painting.....I am totally intimidated by the size have you thought about how you mate up the paintings and did you plan for any abs?
I’m still brainstorming how I’ll attach them! And no, I don’t think I’ll do any ABs for this one.

@@DiamondsandWashi Perhaps you can use the extra stick on the canvas you don't use (because you ordered bigger). And then also use ducktape at the back... It needs some planning on to choose which side off the canvas you leave without diamonds and do that on every panel. Than there is a possibility to use the extra glue to stick the canvasses together. I think that was what I should do.
