Today I'm excited to kit up a new project within a series that has been a bit of a roller-coaster for me. This is my second attempt at a conversion of a HAED cross stitch pattern into a diamond painting, on a blank canvas! I anticipate that this will be a (very) long-term project and that I'll continue to learn a lot as I go along.

So I think it was on nurse Rachel & crafts that she used washi tape on her containers first before putting the stickers on. I think that would be a really good idea to try with the permanent adhesive! Hopefully you can try it the next time you use the sticker maker.

Hah my process is almost exactly like yours! I used my snip app on my PC to cut the dmc and symbols out, then used paint to squish things together all the symbols and dmc could fit onto an A4 sheet for printing, then cut them out and made the sticker strip. I love watching how other ppl manage the conversion projects from HAED. Thanks for sharing! 😀

That was the most satisfying kit up video I ever saw. I hope this conversion goes a lot more smoother than your last one did and I can't wait to see it when it's done.
I only have the permanent tape in my X xyron maker. I just use a small bit of washi rape under it so it’s not a struggle to get it off.

An alternate to washi tape that i've found is the removable Avery Multi-Use Labels, as I've had trouble with washi tape peeling up over time. I stick those labels on my containers, then stick the symbol stickers over it. To de-kit, I'll just peel the symbol stickers off the Avery labels and leave the labels on the containers to reuse. If they get destroyed, it's removable, so it's easy to replace with a new label. Good luck with your new project!

I love kitting up! I kit up the same way with more colors going into the large containers. I even bought extra containers in case I need to switch out. Goo gone will take off the sticker goo. Also if you have a colored printer, you can print on sticker paper in case the X doesn’t restock. Looking forward to seeing your progress!

When you use this one you could put washi tape on the container and then place the sticker down on that that way you won’t need to worry about removing the icky from the container I do this with sticker sheets now
I purchased that disposable sticker maker to use wit my non DAC kits.

I love your conversion. Thank you for making note of the availability for a conversion of the dmc colors that aren’t in the drills. However, 1 white on a HAED is different from DMC 01 which is a greyish white. 1 on a HAED is equivalent to DMC Blanc. (A common area of confusion in the HAED group). Hope this helps.
I don't have the patience for a conversion project,never mind the money lol. I can't wait to see the finished product though. Love your channel.
Maybe use a double sided tape then put the sticker on top of that tape. Or even just a piece of scotch tape. To save the containers
I would put washi on the container then the sticker on the washi :) Easy removal! (At least for next time!)

You definitely have my curiosity. My daughter is an artist. She got commissioned to do a mural in Freak Alley. I really want to do a diamond conversion of that art work. I just have no idea how to get stated.

Just like colouring. I have to be told what colour to put there. That's why I like colour by number.
Beautiful colours for your canvas. So excited for you to start. May this be the better canvas/drills for you. I like how you already have done the canvases thy way you had them , shorter. Should make working on them easier.

I'm bummed too thst they have discontinued the xyron sticker maker tape as you pictured in the start. It's probably too late now, but someone suggested to me to put washi tape first and that the sticker so it comes off easily
I'm exciting to see you work on this kit. One day I would like to do a conversion project. I do have a question about the decision to use the same color drill for 2 different symbols. I understand that one dmc is not available in drill form, would it not be possible to choose a similar color slightly lighter or darker that does come in drill form that's not already being used in the DP? I'm new to DP so I don't know exactly the how much of a difference it would be.
I have been putting off kitting up my HAED kit for SOOOO long. Not sure if it's the intimidation factor of 89 colours, or just my OCD giving me anxiety because there is no "big picture" to follow 😂 I've seen so many HAED videos on CZcams this week, so I'm taking it as a sign - it has to be my next project!
FYI white in DMC doesn't have a number, neither does Ecru. They are just "numbered" as White and Ecru.
One channel I was watching uses washi tape for the container and puts the label on top of the washi tape. The permanent is ok to remove in the short term, but its a right pain if its on for months.
Hi Katie. I love seeing your cross stitch conversion videos. Who am I kidding...I love them all lol. I have 2 questions. First, could you explain the process you went through in laying out the drill packages? Second, would you show the tote you said you put the extra drills into? Is there an organizational method you use in that? Thank you.

How do you know what size bags or how many drills will fit in each container?
Ok I have a question hopefully you will answer. I like the square diamond painting but there are round ones I want but don't like the look of rounds. Can I switch them to separately bought square drills?
My question is did you find canvas that big and if you have to connect canvas and how?

Doing a conversion from cross stitch to DMC is so expensive due to the cost of drills and how many you need. Unless you have lots of square drills from other projects but again I heard using different square drills from other projects not a good idea due to different lot colors. Because you might have five different projects than you need to order more drills so now your using six different lots. What is your thoughts on this?

I’m a newbie and I have a newbie’s question. If I get some kits/drills from bunch of different diamond painting companies, are those drills (round/square) same size??? If I save left over drills, can I use those for other projects??? I hope that’s the case. Thanks 😊
Rounds and squares are not the same size but all rounds will be the same size no matter what company and all squares will be the same no matter what company. Hopefully that makes sense
