Throughout the years there's been many great promos in pro wrestling but only a few become legendary. From Dusty Rhodes talking about "Hard Times" to Scott Hall asking WCW "You want a war?", these legendary promos are still remembered today for how they shaped the future of the whole wrestling business. Some of these promos were from superstars who weren't necessarily known for their mic skills, others were from wordsmiths who could talk fans into the arena, but every promo in this video is memorable.

That salmon jacket is absolutely iconic. The promo is incredible on its own but the addition of that jacket which felt like something Mark Henry “the person” and not Mark Henry “the wrestler” would wear made it feel like he was truly retiring. A+ moment.

@caseyj8313 yes my dad did too. He used to watch wwf with me during the attitude era when I was totally in love with the rock. And even tho my dad claimed to "hate" wrestling, we watched raw and smackdown together every week, and he often used to laugh at Vince and the other mcmahon family members. I remember when Vincent sent Linda to the nut house- my dad found that funny too. Such happy memories of my childhood because and something I cherish now I'm a parent myself. 😊😊
I think Vince's greatest promo to me is *"when he said he was going to inject a lethal dose of poison into his company"*

Paul Heyman’s ECW One Night Stand 2005 promo deserves a shoutout.
Paul's promo to Vince in 2001 was also really good!
Eddie’s Addict promo on Brock still brings a tear to my eye all these years later. That’s peak character building…when the lines between reality and kayfabe get really, really blurry.
I think dolph ziggler took inspiration from Eddie for his promo in 2016 putting his career on the line against the miz because he said a lot of similar stuff about it being a sickness/being an addict

Jericho and his man of 1,004 holds needs to be on this list of best promos. The giant stack of printer paper, the fact that it cut to commercial and when it came back he was still talking, and him repeating "arm bar" as different holds - perfection!

That Booker promo was a slip, so I don't know if it really counts, and honestly, you can analyze every Warrior promo and get 30 minutes of content from each one. That man was insane.

I'm a Heyman guy so his shoot "You stole from....me" promo on Vince was a masterclass.
PAUL HEYMAN DESERVES AN EMMY
Every word of that promo was accurate. 100% real and true and Vince knew it. And now Heyman gets the last laugh and honored at the HoF and Vince is out of work and won't even be mentioned by name in any WWE media.
Heyman is the best talker in the history of wrestling. No question. Vince was the abusive, exploitative lion tamer who covered himself in fish chum and walked straight into the cage. He didn't know what he was in for.
Macho Man was king at promos. Cup of coffee or cream rises to the top, doesn’t matter he was always on
This needs to be a series like Blunder or Reliving the War. Man, you'd be doing the community a service.

The rocks promos were the same week in and week out, all he did is inserted the name of whatever wrestler he was talking to at the time. Talking about shining something and shoving up someone's candy ass, that pretty much covers 98% of his promos.
I don't think that formulaic style would've worked nearly as well with anyone else.
It's so crazy I was thinking how "Who's your daddy, Montreal?" should be included right before it popped up. What an amazing heel promo.

Ole Anderson’s promo from Georgia in 1980 after he turned on Dusty Rhodes is a thing of beauty.

Other classics are Savage WM5 "I hate your guts", Warrior "crash the plane", Jake Roberts "averice", any of the 99/00 Steiner promos, Hogan at the Andre WM3 contract signing "YOU SPEAK ENGLISH WHEN YOU TALK TO ME!"

That Jake promo was legendary. But his pre match promo at WM 7 was better. Short and unbelievably sweet.

The Miz giving the promo of his life on Talking Smack. All the frustration and desperation is somehow heelish and sympathetic at the same time. "I'm the one who loves everything and everyone! YOU'RE the coward!"
Stone Cold's "You treat me like a dog and you expect me to smile? You remind me of a jackass" is my all-time favorite promo. But there's so many other great ones. Off the top of my head:
-The sitdown interview between Austin and Rock leading to Wrestlemania 17
-Mick Foley turning on The Rock after he thought Rock threw away his book
-The People's Slot Machine promo from a Smackdown episode in 1999 is underappretiated. It's right up there with the Billy Gunn promo.
-MJF's pipebomb
-The interview between CM Punk and Stone Cold for the WWE 13 videogame
-John Cena destroying Roman Reigns
-Triple H and Rock teasing a Wrestlemania match in 2014

That was an excellent promo. Farooq had one of my all time favorite lines in a promo. When he was facing the Undertaker at the 1997 KOTR, Kane's appearance had been teased and there was a lot of black mail from Paul Bearer. Farooq addresses that and tells the Undertaker the only black male he has to worry about is in the ring tonight. Omg.... I love that line in reference to the upcoming debut of Kane.
3 more for thought. Vince's "Life sucks and then you die", Vince's "The Old Stone Cold", and Jake the Snake's "wallowing in the muck of avarice"
Christian Cage’s first heel promo in AEW I think will be one that stands the test of time

I remember seeing it live. Like OSW said, Whopper Promo. Flair promos never cease to entertain. Another mention should go to his "I was born with a Golden Spoon in my mouth!" And bragged about all his clothes, styling and profiling.
Jeff Jarretts "I go home" promo post losing the nwa title to Sting. Really sobering stuff from a legendary heel.

Hogan's Bash At The Beach '96 promo is still one of my favorites. I could be wrong, but I think it was the only time we ever saw red and yellow Hogan cut a heel promo.
It's so weird to think that the Hogan NWO heel turn promo at Bash at the Beach (July 7th) and the Austin 3:16 promo (June 23rd) at the 96 KOFT were two weeks apart.

That one is revolutionary in the sense when you watch it it makes you realize how terrible promos are today when even that is better than most stuff we get today.
One of my all time favourties is the CM Punk "You are the New York Yankees" promo on Cena. He was on fire

One of my favorites is Ric Flairs victory speech from the Royal Rumble 1992. "With a tear in my eye, this is the greatest moment of my life".

I've always loved Steve Austins promo in ECW. The one he states that no one is going to stop him on becoming the superstar that he always knew he could be.
How about Good Ol' J.R.'s heel promo from 1996? The crowd wouldn't stop cheering for him because everything he said was the truth. Another good example of a "justified heel."
Steiner Math is the greatest promo of all time. Hands down.
The most amazing thing about the Steiner Math promo is that Scott Steiner has an actual math degree and all the math he does in the promo is actually accurate. All of which becomes twice as funny when you find out he lost that match at Sacrifice.

I actually remember that promo when it first aired. Made me a Paul Heyman guy for life (I was too young for the original ECW by the time I regularly watched wrestling).

Bret's promo was so special. Biggest babyface promo of all time in Canada. Biggest heel promo in the USA.
The duality of promos.
Bray Wyatt's "Miss Teacher Lady" speech as well as his brief NXT farewell always stood out to me.
Same for Randy Ortons Raw promo as the IC champ before going against Shelton Benjamin, where he attacked the crowd and told them to "have a look a greatness".
On the funny side, the promo where Leo Kruger was about to join the Real Americans stable while scheming with Cesaro against Sami Zayn was worth a laugh.
And then there are MJFs shoot promo on Dynamite where betitled Tony Khan a f'n Mark as well as his villain origin story where he breaks down crying while reflecting his youth as a Jewish kid. Especially the latter one is absolutely remarkable.
Please, please, please, please make this a series. We already know the war is going to end before we are prepared for it. This could be sustainable for your channel for a long, long time. Show off all the best promo's. Show off all the worst. Show off the funniest, the strangest, the most obscure, and hardest to find. Even making 1 hour videos, how many hundreds of hours of promo's are there? Plus, wrestling goes on forever, meaning you will be able to use it for even longer. I guess I shouldn't pretend that this isn't more than me just wanting to see promo's I may not have seen already. I want to see more and I hope potential profit and my appreciation will be enough to make the pain in the ass parts of the job worth it.
Listen man...thank you. Thank you 1000 times for everything you produce and put out for us to view. This was another video you knocked completely out of the park. Incredibly well edited, well spoken and just...great. No other way to put it. Thank you for talking about the promos but also allowing the promo's to play as originally aired. Too many video makers like to talk over things to hear themselves instead of providing a commentary and then allowing the actual video to speak for itself.
Not having Jim Cornette's bloody shirt promo w/ The MIdnight Express against Paul Heyman on this list is a travesty of justice. Maybe for part 2. Otherwise, awesome content as usual!

The greatest moment and promo in pro wrestling history
Cane Dewey and the entire anti-hardcore run in ECW is absolute promo gold. If you haven't seen those promos, watch them. Seek them out. It's worth it. The delivery is absolutely amazing.

I'm 8 years sober tomorrow. And part of why I got sober was because of Eddie's journey. So, yeah it definitely meant something, even if it was after his death.
I wouldnt call it an all timer promo quite like the ones in your video, but The Rock last monday saying "you know who else is smiling? Your daddy in heaven" made me tear up instantly.
To me the cherry on top of the Steiner Math promo is the: " You see Joe, the numbers don't lie and they SPELL disaster for you at Sacrifice".

I remember Hall, Nash, and Hogan did one of those pre-filmed, black and white segments they used to do and all I can remember about it is Scott Hall saying "Nice hair, Sting" and my friends and I still say that to each other to this day.
