- Hall Of Fame pro wrestler George "The Animal" Steele tells crazy wrestling fan to "shut up" as him and Nikolai Volkoff arrive at an autograph singing in California on 6/23/2012
- Zábava
I worked security at the old Capitol Centre in Landover Md. I met George many times.A true gentleman. R.I.P. 0:15
Saw George the Animal Steele in 1981 at the Roselle Catholic HS gym in NJ. I was twelve years old at the time. A bunch of us kids were making fun of the animal when he all of a sudden chewed through a turnbuckle and started throwing the stuffing at us. We all acted tough until the Animal charged at us outside the ring. I swear I pissed my pants. Those were great memories. For $8 I got to see George Steele, Ivan Putski, Tony Garea and Rick Martel, King Kong Mosca, Tony Atlas, Pat Patterson, Sgt. Slaughter and two very young newcomers in Curt Hennig and Eddie Gilbert.
The most awesome moment one could have as a wrestling fan.
Truly a wrestling legend. One of the best and most believable (if you were a kind d like I was when George was in his prime) shticks in the history of the business.
Anyone noticed the guy behind him? That was Nikolai Volkoff.
Taking A Stand for Him---I thought so but George stole the spotlight! YOU! SHUT UP!
RIP to both
No, that was Tim "Mr. Wrestling" Woods, who was part owner of WWF along with Pat Patterson and Dino Bravo. Research before you post.
@moonbeamskies3346 The only thing that should be researched is the possibility of you needing glasses. That is Nikolai Volkoff.
@@darkman7010 I may have been mistaken in every aspect of my post.
I was at this show and met the Animal. He autographed a picture of Randy Savage coming down on George with a double axe handle from the top rope. George was trying to scare Miss Elizabeth unaware of the savage blow (pun intended) he was about to receive. The photo was taken from behind Miss Elizabeth's perspective. The guy he told to shut up is Malcom. He's actually really cool and he's a huge wrestling fan. We call him Malcomania.
When I was a kid he scared the crap out of me lol. I miss old school wrestling.
Lol,he said "you shut up"...I love it. Rip George😚😢😇
I missed the man so much always loved by many fans and very entertaining 1 of a kind wrestling nowadays ain't like it used to be RIP George "the animal "Steele😭😭😭😭💪👍💯💯💯💯
saw George "The Animal" Steele fight at The l.a. sports arena in the early '80s...and saw about a thousand people turn and run when he charged the stands
Leonard
I believe it. His gimmick was very convincing.
@@hayesman76 as a child in the mid 70's, he terrified me ! 😱
Lol
George Steele had the best perfected gimmick ... It was simple yet extremely believable and one set of ring attire. He mastered his craft with ease and to the point where it cant be replicated. And to actually be a science teacher too. Thanks George. RIP
So true., best days of wrestling when we didn’t know them away from the ring. We just knew tv, arena, and pro wrestling magazines. They lived their gimmick. Came to ring, did match and left again 👍😂
George was a local here in cocoa beach, he never said no to a autograph or picture, RIP Buddy
He had one of the best shticks ever.
The Animal, my all time favorite! Glad he is still around, and posts on his facebook page all day long! G-D Bless the Animal!
LOL! He Came Smiling And Sayin Hi But then when that guy says loudly his name YOU SHUT UP!!
Great video thanks 😊
George Steele walking with a cane! I remember when he was still wrestling. It makes me feel sooooooooo old!
albalonybalony---When I was a 10 or 11 my father took me to see him wrestle as a masked wrestler called The Student. His style was the same back then!
You'll feel even older when you see his tombstone.
God bless him...Rip old buddy
Fuck him up, George!
It's crazy that George Steele dies one day, and then Ivan Koloff dies the next day
Eddie Ash
Deep respect to both, especially Ivan Koloff, who was a very strong (no pun intended) Christian later in life. May they both RIP.
@@hayesman76 Perhaps being a "strong Christian later in life" is what killed him?
@@paidrussiantroll1305
On the contrary, being a strong Christian is what gave him life (not that you’d be able to understand that).
@@hayesman76 I understand that.
George was very entertaining. RIP George Steele.
Legend.
lmao... still lmao.... cups up to the george ( the animal ) steele... and to think this man was a teacher back when he started wrestling and had to wrestle in the summer and play a character like his is genius...
(with humor & respect to George) ....Vince McMahon would say, "He has a face that only a mother could love!"
The Animal and Nikolai Volkoff were in the business for decades. They both faced Bruno Sammartino, Bob Backlund, and Hulk Hogan.
God the Animal was great! Just a regular guy who was blessed with an amazing talent and ability to entertain wrestling fans for what seemed like eons. There's that Commie Nikolai Volkoff! Man he and Sgt. Slaughter had a run or two didn't they? They both looked great. Even Animal on a cane coulda worked that loud mouth over. Ha! Get um George! Rest in peace and power Old Man. Great video!
Bro that literally sounds just like Tony Khan wtf
What a Cool Guy
I would have loved him to tell me to shut up.
i love how George "The Animal" Steele tells crazy wrestling fan to "shut up"😅🤣
He plays one of the oddest wrestlers and now seems the most normal
Class act!

SO FUNNY !!!!!!!!
nice video
lmao gotta love Kevin Steen
I got to see George the animal steel wrestle .
Dan Amaz---When I was a kid my father took me to see him wrestle. He was a masked wrestler back then called The Student.
He was so cool. No one can copy is style! 😁
Grew up watching the WWF in the mid 80's. Always weird to hear George Steele say anything other than "Hey, You! Elizabeth, Pretty!! Bye Bye!!".
BamaDan197319 you forgot "mine"
legend
hilarious!
George was a great guy. Who was grounded and had long career and life. Who was married to the same women his whole life. Who taught high school Instead of doing drugs.
Uh... George Steele was a well known partier before he became an office stooge. Then he ratted on all of the guys he partied with. Owen, Bret, and XPac hated his guts. Bret and XPac have talked about it, as have others.
The.man
I remember George Steel when he could actually talk...and INTELLECTUALLY back in the late 60's during Bruno Samartino's main run as Champion. He was one of Bruno's toughest adversaries and also challenged Pedro Morales when he became Champion and Bob Backland throughout the 70's By the mid eighties Steel was pretty much done it was around then he became a fan favorite for the first time in his career chewing turnbuckles, throwing its filling at refs (and his opponents) his last major feud was with Randy (Macho Man) Savage fighting over the affections of Elizabeth mostly. Steel in his prime was a ferocious, mean, killer had classic BLOODY 🩸🩸🩸☠ confrontations with the Original Sheik.
Wrestlers leave The Business but KAYFABE never leaves The Wrestler!
Is that why he did lots of out of character interviews? 😂
@@Rjensen2 Yes...The Animal and many many many others do interviews out of character to be sure! BUTT....the KAYFABE never leaves them! 🤣
@@TheStuport Do you even know what kayfabe means? 🤣🤣🤣
George was a school teacher when he wasn't wrestling, which is widely known.
However, he also tended to be anti-teachers' union in his home state of Michigan. He was this way supposedly because he cared about advancing the interests of students, but I think he was always out for himself.
As I have a background in K-12 and postsecondary education as well, Steele's anti-unionism is something I fault Steele for. Like police, teachers often have difficult jobs and need unionization to protect their interests, especially when they are always expected to do more with less. That said, teachers' unions in some states can hold up the education process and harm students when labor strikes go on for too long. So, there is a balance between unionism and obstructionism.
Still, because of Steele's anti-union stance, I see him much like Jesse Ventura sees Hulk Hogan when Hogan resisted unionization of WWF wrestlers in order to advance Hogan's own interests as WWF's top face.
I feel like Steele was something of a traitor to his own profession and a hypocrite, especially when he started wrestling to make additional money--money that teacher unionization would have given him.
Bret Hart likewise has some unflattering stories about Steele.
haha awesome rip !
frank and sons?
ELIZABETH....MANAGER....ELIZABETH.....MANAGER...
Watching Atlas talk about him, he's ends it by saying " Let his piss bag explode" LOL
They’re both dead now 😢
Alright, let's dive right in. You're a wrestler, a modern-day gladiator, used to dealing with all sorts of chaos in the ring. But this one fan, they've really got under your skin, haven't they? We're not talking about the typical cheering or booing here. This is next-level annoyance, the kind that makes you want to jump out of the ring and... well, let's not go there. It's like they've got a PhD in getting on your nerves, right?
So, here's the thing. This fan, they're just a speck in a sea of thousands. Yet, somehow, they've become the center of your universe - for all the wrong reasons. They're like that one popcorn kernel stuck in your teeth, impossible to ignore. But let's face it, you're in the spotlight, and that means dealing with fans of all kinds - the good, the bad, and the annoying-as-shit. Remember, every roar, every cheer, and yes, even the annoying chants, they're all part of the gig. It's about taking that energy, even the irritating kind, and using it to fuel your performance. After all, isn't that what being a wrestling superstar is all about?
Why did you write a critically act novel?
He is dead
Office Stooge
he is dead now
That's at Frank & Sons in Los Angeles. I've heard that same loud mouth there. Even Rick Steiner got up angry and told him to SHUT THE F UP. 😂
