There needs to be a legitimate Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame
@@user-we3me3dg1yAbraham Lincoln is in it.
There is one. It is called the Cauliflower Alley Club
As long as celebrities like Trump and bikini models like the Bellas are in the WWE HOF, it'll never have any value .
Professional Wrestling isn't legitimate though
All Hall of Fames are based in some type of politics, there are people that haven't won Emmys that have deserved to win one that never did.
Bruno was like a superhero when I was a kid
I never was a fan because back then there was very little territorial overlap in broadcasting and I was in Louisiana anyhow . But I always heard how he was the man up north . We only had one superstar babyface in Louisiana and it didn’t happen til the 80’s . JYD was over like rover with most MidSouth fans . I preferred Mr Olympia though .
@@pooddescrewch8718 yeah I got to see JYD and he was really over up north too
@@ReeseRozum-sm1zs He was the Gulf South’s Hulk Hogan too bad his coke addiction derailed him . His popularity halved when he was rolling into hoods to buy crack . That sort of thing gets out quickly . He could have been astronomically huge but he couldn’t see the big picture with that monster on his back .
Dude is like the ultimate version of a grandfather...... strong asf till the day he died..... a real old school mans man ..... RIP goat
We need more men like Bruno in wrestling and in the world in general.
I always resped Bruno Sammartion until he passed away. A real MAN until the end.
Bruno seemed like one of those people who would live to 100
7:22 i love that he looks at his watch like, i've had my fill of this stuff lol
It is somewhat ironic that Joey Styles started working for WWE the same year this interview was done (2005). Hearing Joey talk about unpleasant WWE storylines is also hilarious, considering he was the voice of ECW. 😆
He likes to brag about how he’s “a *Christian*” now, when he jumped at the fist chance to blow McMahon given the opportunity. 🙄
True but ECW was catered to a certain audience of male adults
Bruno was a man of principle
Hence why him and McMahon never saw eye to eye lol
@@Doug-my8qz McMahon is a psycho, he wants to be ass kissed, not confronted. And he knew Bruno was bigger than him.
A morally sound human being and in his time freakish strong. He owned the East Coast for 20 years. Love his class
I thought he was Walter White for a sec til I read the title 💀💀💀
He wishes 🙂
A&E not talking about Bruno like he never existed is like never talking about Race.
They watched to much Disney
Its worse . Bruno was wrestling from 1962 -1977 . Harley Race was the biggest fish in the NWA’s multitude of little ponds . Bruno was a God in the biggest Market in the US . I like Harley more but he was not in Bruno’s league for drawing power . No one was .
@@thegreenpianist7683?
@@NoctuaOlivae there's a Disney song called "We don't talk about Bruno"
Decent man
If you had any reason to not love Bruno before, he kept it real in this one!
Yeah. He keeps it real when he talks about beating Buddy Rogers, too. Except, Rogers was in the hospital after a heart attack and had a $25,000.00 deposit on the belt, so he showed up and did the job so he didn’t lose his money. That’s why the match only lasted seconds. Bruno NEVER admitted that.
@@josephlucas3099Bruno has always said that Rogers didn't know that he was going to drop the title until Bruno told him just before the opening bell.
Bruno wish you were still here such class. We all know what you would say about the Vince scandal.
I've seen matches in which Bruno was great. Chain wrestling, lots of holds, good amateur moves, great psychology. I have also seen whole matches of nothing but kick and punch. A DVD set of his great matches would be awesome.
Bruno was great when I was a kid. I remember the Bruno - Ivan Koloff battles.
Bruno, Bret, Jim Ross and even freaking Ryback were right all along.
Bret Hart and Jim Ross kiss vince's ass more than anyone.
@@thismayormaynotbeinterestingbecause JR was professional to the end. While Vince was making fun of him he was still valued. JR was advancing his career until Johnny Ace convinced Vince that JR didnt have it. And its not lile vince made himself look like the best person in the world either. He was heel and he got heat. And despite his last run JR got alot of good out of WWE. Focus on the big picture. Not on the negatives and it becomes clear how JR stayed so long and was loyal.
Bruno was the best !
Stone Cold Bruno Sammartino.
I have Said this so many times, Bruno Sammartino. Drew @ my Local Boys Club, We had a small room made 12 chairs & a 📺. When Bruno was on the card, someone would go to the 🏀 court. & say " BRUNO IS ON DECK"
about 10 more would join us in the
Den. Some Sat on the floor & some stood up. Just to see this Athlete! RIP 🙏
Bruno, a real gentleman and legend. RIP, Bruno.
This was awesome Bill Apter
I don't think Bruno was bitter, he just didn't need to bend -the-knee to Vince. Everything changes in life, but I miss the territory days. Wrestlers were characters back then not caricatures. I can't stand seeing wrestling nowadays but enjoy hearing stories of the past. Go figure😊
From what I’ve seen from Backlund and a few others Vince Sr was a well respected man and he treated the wrestlers that he dealt with very well and he was specifically against Vince Jr going after the other territories
Thank you.
Could you do another current interview if he's well enough.
if vince respected the old timers and business he would have strengthened the grass roots so wrestling would thrive locally. instead he burned down the business and now he can't go into a city more than once or twice a year , as opposed the old timers who ran shows every week . but ok
Guys with integrity like Bruno Sammartino and Bret Hart don't mix well with scumbags like Vince McMahon.
Bret turned on Martha Hart because of Vince, pay attention please
A true man of integrity, Bruno was.
Imagine what Bruno would think of this Vince scandal…
He knew about Pat Patterson molesting young boys working setting up the ring, selling concessions, etc.
Because no one is paying to see Killer Kowalski over Mike Fucking Tyson! Jesus.
Bruno would be loving all of vinces scandals in the past couple years...
Whoever added the subtitles to the original video had to have been high.
The more I see of this man the more I like him
Bruno looking like Walter white 💀
Bruno seems like a very respectable person. He seems very well spoken but he has seen a lot I bet you when he was around.
Class act
Bruno was incredibly principled and a class act. He was before my time, but I have enjoyed going back and learning of his impact on the wrestling business. Vince (as we knew then and we know even moreso now) is a huge POS
The WWE stands on Bruno’s wide shoulders
Vince was definitely disrespectful cuz he knew he could get away with it cuz they needed the money. Yeah Vince had to spend a lot on the celebs to draw the money to make the big money, but he certainly didn't compensate the legends when he could've afforded to.
I for 1 did not know Bruno wasn’t in the HOF. I started watching wrestling in 1964. This is insane.
Love bruno
REAL LEGEND,
I miss Joey Styles.
Bruno was and still is the greatest and his instincts about Vince were pretty dead on.
Hey good video
I like Bruno Sammartino. He seems a stand-up guy.
Bruno looks great.
What a good man.
Does anyone have a link to this full interview?
Judging how Bruno kept looking at his watch, this was probably it! 😂
How long ago was this?
Bruno you sound just like Arnold 🤟💪
Bruno GOAT
Bruno was right about Vince being a perv😂
Now I got it. Bruno sounds just like Arnold Schwarzenegger 😂
When was this?
2005
Bruno was getting heated in that first minute
When’s it from?
2005
RIP Bruno
"Respekk tha Legend!" _Iron Sheik
Any idea what year this is from?
2009
The original Forever 🏆 Champion
Joey Styles reminds of George Costanza
Bruno in principle is spot-on, but Tyson drew viewership and was worth the investment made to him. Albano was part of a collective package and not the curiosity or draw that Tyson or even Pete Rose was. Vince knew how to draw from people who were NOT wrestling fans. Blassie and Albano Were wrestling. They weren't bringing in any new fans.
Is it just me or does he kinda sound like arnold lol
Maybe Vince could have given the old timers a little more for appearances, but Would you pay Freddie Blassie and his like in the same pay range as a Mike Tyson or Pete Rose?? The fans liked seeing the stars in society and would care less about the old timers
Rip
You know something? Looking at all these scandals Vince McMahon is dealing with right now, I'm kind of glad all this stuff is coming out of woodworks because it's a disservice to these great wrestlers like Bret the Hitman Hart and Bruno sammartino. He got in the Hall of Fame the same year Booker t and Mick Foley which they all have been in a long time ago. Bruno sammartino didn't even want to get into Vince McMahon's Hall of Fame I don't blame him at all. In the show this man was sustained disrespect and not let him be recognized as one of the true pioneer superstars of professional wrestling back in the 60s and 70s it's just a head scratching and embarrassment. I want to say to Bruno's family thank you so much for sharing him with us even though I did not watch him he was long before my time I'm actually 50 years younger than Mr. Sammartino. I'm sure the young lady Janelle Grant will win her case in court and the brand name WWE will be buried along with all the mcmahons. So they might change it to eat a TKO or NXT I hope they do because the information that's come out of here is just too much. Should Mr Sammartino thank you so much for your contributions and rest peacefully 🙏
🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
Piling on.
I swear Bill Cowher looks like Bruno’s lost son.
It's time for wrestling to go back to the old school ... now that the McMahon era is over.
JESSE
JESSE
Bruno kind alokks like Sgt Slaughter
Bruno always talks about doing things right but yet he tends to forget who was in control of things in those days in New York. Only reason he was the champion because they let him, he’s Italian, understand what I’m saying. Also Buddy Rogers was screwed by Bruno. That was the first screw job so he’s talking out of both sides of his mouth
Bruno wasn't wrong....
Bruno wrestled once a month
I don’t understand the argument. Money is made by draws. The bigger the draw the bigger the payday. Mike Tyson is going to drAw a helluva bigger audience than a Killer Kowalski. If he was just to pay these guys a big payday because he respects what they have done for the business he wouldn’t turn a profit. Regardless of what he thinks a business has to turn a profit
Vince wouldn't f@ck with the Mafia 😂
At this point the wwe hall of fame doesn’t mean anything if they gon put Donald trump snoop dogg and drew carray in there then there’s no bar at all at that point they’re celebrities not wrestlers or managers…plus the executives are the only ones really capitalize off it they own the hall of fame they make all the money
To be fair, those people were inducted into the _CELEBRITY WING_ of the WWE Hall of Fame, which is considered a whole seperate wing that they have. Which does make a little sense to be fair, since guest celebrities have been such an integral part of WWF/WWE from The Brawl To End It All & The War To Settle The Score & WrestleMania I through to today. I mean it was a whole tradition at every WrestleMania up to a certain point for there to be special guest celebrities serving as the guest ring announcer & timekeeper for the main event at every WrestleMania. And a guest celebrity doing backstage interviews. So they _do_ have some role in WWF/WWE. Not necessarily in the pro wrestling industry and the history of pro wrestling, but WWF/WWE specifically.
That’s why they’re in the “celebrity wing” of the HoF.
Bruno only drawer in the north east where the most clueless fans there is and was like Hogan
Too bad Bruno let Vince pay him off to go into Gall of Fame
Why too bad? Bruno's kids got a few million of Vince's money now.
Hey young bucks, get out of your playpen and watch a true adult to be emulated and admired.
Bruno is the greatest didnt he get a million dollars to join the hall of fame ? If so he deserved it ,
Bruno shoots on Vince, as apposed to Vince sh....
Really he’s not in the hall of fame?
he wasn't at the time but got in years later
He was never that marketable because he wasn’t white! He was Italian
Vince is innocent
V-INNOCENT
Only mistake he ever made was not giving the company to Shane O'Mac 10 years ago
he’s not and your comment is disgusting
Yeah but Tyson was worth every penny
It’s crazy how even someone like Bruno doesn’t understand basic draw power and what it’s worth. They paid Mike Tyson that money because he was worth that money
Thats a fair point..but you have to look at from Brunos perspective.
Without the older timers...theres no paying Tyson anything because Vince has no company.
What makes this even worst is Vince even paid the dudes in his defunct body building league more than his wrestling talent and they never drew Vince one dime.
Bruno made a lot of money. Why he is bitter is because he didn’t save any.
Didn’t this hypocrite after saying all this decide to take the Hall of Fame invitation, the check, and the plaque that came along with it? Everyone’s got principles until money gets involved, and then we see who the real hypocrites are.
I have much respect for Bruno as a person and a wrestler, BUT he is not a businessman. Tyson is a much bigger draw, so he gets more money. No knowing the real numbers, but I always assumed the dollar value was a work.
It's pile on time now .. most of these people said nothing when it wasn't fashionable to go after Vince
Bruno was pretty consistent wasn’t he?
So he came from the grave to do this interview?
He died 6 years ago. The algorithm pulled this back out.
@@mrcraigbeckett So consistent that he decided to take the Hall of Fame invite the check in the plaque that came along with it and a nice steak dinner that night. Bruno is a hypocrite just like all the other complainers. If you had principles he would’ve never showed up for the Hall of Fame induction but he did anyway because Bruno is a stone cold, hating hypocrite.
“Mr White, you can’t shoot on vince Mr White”
Bruno was the biggest mark for himself, when he won it was real, when he lost it was fake
Sammartino is the most overrated wrestler in history. All he did was kick, punch and bearhug. He worked once a month sometimes in 8 minute snoozers while Race, Brisco, Funk & Flair wrestled 60 minute Broadways 5 nights a week with double shots at spot shows on Saturday and Sunday. Bruno was protected and brilliantly promoted by Vince Sr. no doubt. But as a worker, on the mic, etc he was the shits, end of story.
What does that have to do with the fact that he was unquestionably the biggest draw in wrestling for close to 2 decades?
@@RealFuckingReviews Yes, unquestionably the biggest draw in the Northeast for 20 years. Put Bruno in any arena outside of NY, Boston or Philly and it was nothing but popcorn farts. The few times he went to NWA territories he was laughed at. I commented and say all this because he was a pompous, cantankerous bitter man who gave zero credit to anyone but himself. He's similar to the Ultimate Warrior in that respect: they both thought they were God's gift to wrestling, they both held up promoters if they didn't get their way and with both guys you hear none of their contemporaries or the generation following them say any good about them. It's always the pat answer: "Bruno? Yeah, he was big in the Garden."
i stopped watching because of the dead body sex bullshit
Right???
Imagine being a grown ass man and still looking to the gallery after that "... and I hung up on her."
Bless his heart. I hope he was able to actually grow dafuq up before his passing.
Bitter old man
Yes, and I must say that I understand him. The Yeti, the Gobledigooker and the Shockmaster set the trend after Bruno.
Nice job rehashing another old sour grapes Bruno moment
