Part of the new NUX Verdugo Series, the Atlantic Delay and Reverb features three delay algorithms, three reverb algorithms and the ability to combine delay with reverb in either parallel or series. If the latter, you can choose to run reverb before delay or delay before reverb. The most common types of delay and reverb are all here and two of the reverbs feature freeze functions while the Plate algorithm offers Shimmer to add to the fun. You'll find Tap Tempo with all of the usual subdivisions; attenuation switching and the Atlantic will deliver glorious stereo if you wish as demonstrated here. There is little that is wanting with the Atlantic and at the time of writing the price was certainly right. Nice work, Mr NUX.
By the way, I say in the video that Artist Guitars are located in Brisbane. That is definitely not the case as they are firmly rooted in Sydney, NSW. My apologies, fellas!

NUX seems to have come out of nowhere in the last couple of years with a number of really good sounding units. Great demo, Brett.
You can always tell when Brett likes a pedal - a little smile appears from the edge of his mouth for a nano second. When you spot it you know the product is worthy of your attention! I bought this pedal once I saw the tell tale sign! No regrets - recommended.
That Freeze feature really surprised me. Didn't expect that! Nice work from Nux guys
Brett, of all the demo guitarists, your the king man!
Thanks! Not really, though. There are plenty better players out there than me.
disagree.... I prefer your reviews@@BrettKingman
Thank you for the explanation on serial, parallel and pedal strack. No one else did that. Really helpful!!!
Dang, so much tone so little cash. Oh well, my kids can eat next week. Daddy needs this pedal!
Peyote Pete lol 😝 how’s your kids? I wonder how many pedals purchased vs hungry kids ratio you have now 🤣
@Chase Troy bot 1
@Karson Alan bot 2
Hahaha!
Nux nailed it: cheap and good sounding reverb+delay. Incredible. Nice demo Brett!!
"Diablo" music! I've always loved this music. It was something about 97-99.
Now permanently on my jam/rehearsal board. Grabbed one on special for 169 Aussie bucks. Just awesome, especially with a Muff & modulation = Gilmour territory (which is where I wanna be!). DD-5 & Behringer Reverb Machine now on the "pedal shelf".
I bought a Victory Sheriff 44 yesterday and was thinking how useful it would be to have a pedal with delay and reverb to put in the FX loop. I wake up today and here you are demoing a pedal that seems to do exactly what I want! Synchronicity in action!!
Awesome amp you picked up. Did you sleep last night ? Or did you jam all night..
Aloha Brett….it sounds great Braddah! I enjoyed this demo just like all your other reviews because of your playing. The MOJO in your fingers makes all the difference! Mahalo nui loa for sharing your time with us!
after this review i bought one...delay And reverb!...juist what i need..Thanks !
Great demo. Just ordered one from Thomann. This is the best sounding delay/reverb I've heard.
I bought this. So simple yet so versatile...no need to scroll through menus/sub-menus...just adjust those red knobs and switches and you get lovely ambient sounds!🙂👍
Awesome sounds! One of the best sounding digital Delay/Reverb for the buck in 2018.
Sounds very good.
Think this might be as good for my synthesizers, as for my guitars.
I've had a couple of Nux pedals and found them well made and with excellent sound. They have a very premium feel compared to other 'budget' brands.
Just picked one up for myself, great video this was everything I needed to know, thanks! 🤘
Just the pedal i was looking for. Always love your demos
Excellent review! I just bought mine after watching this!! I loved it!
4:43 the Tube Man sounds amazing! Gotta buy that one, too! Thanks for sharing :D
Excellent video, mate! This will definitely be my next NU-X purchase. (Just bought the analog distortion and it's awesome.)
NUX have really upped their game! I had their amp force pedal years ago (which was pretty crap tbh) but this is awesome... their cab simulator is almost the same as my Tomas Blug BluBox too
NU>X Solid Studio? It's great.
Very informative! Fine level of musicianship and great sense of pedagogy. Many thanks.
I am sold ! Thank you kind sir ! Damn cool pedal ! 🧑🎤🎶🧔🎸🎶🕺
You have the best pedal reviews. You get to the point, demo the sounds, and have a nice clear view of the settings. Incredible how few youtubers manage to do this, good on you!
Awesome review. I bought this unit based on your review and I love it !!!
Great review. Thankyou from South Coast / NSW.
Thanks for this demo, I bought this pedal.
Shit, that sounds pretty darn impressive Burgs!
Love your ballsy bluesy rock. That distortion was sweet.🙃
loved it as i always do. instructive and involved.
These gizmos are cool but you need a good player to show how good they actually are. Brett, you are one of them. Thanks for the demo :)
Zs
Dear Brett, many thanks for the great and always very precise presentation of various effect pedals, before I buy something, I always look at your rating first and have already bought many pedals then! Great guitarist and very good presentation!!!! Many thanks and greetings from Germany, Franky Flash
Nice gadget..thanks mate for the operation and knowledge..thumbs up..
Great demo. You’ve just sold me one. 🙂
Sounds like a great combo. 👏👏
Nailing the gilmour tone! I love this pedal. So glad i didnt hsve to spend 400 dollars for it
This is such a good sounding and useful pedal! If i had a nice od and a chorus with this I could do any gig.
Always love your videos Brett. First one I saw was the red Strat in to a GT100 in to a Hot Rod Deluxe. Exactly my set up so it was great to see a video on it. I'm thinking of upgrading the HRD3 to a HRD4 and moving back to individual pedals so I'd be interested to know how the Nux Atlantic pedal and the Tubeman Mk2 overdrive in this video compare to the GT100's offerings - any thoughts appreciated!
Waaaaaayyyy better demo than others. Thanks Brett. I'm sold.
Great demo Brett.
Thanks Brett!
FYI, it's pronounced "NU - X" (That's why there's a ">" after NU>X)
"Noo-Eks."
I disagree.
Phil Smith By that Logic it would be pronounced Nu-greater than-X.
I’m buying this pedal soon.
Not bad for 200 bucks, I have a definite weakness for reverb, I enjoyed the demo
$149 on Reverb in the US
Wtf man your tone sounds perfect, 7:32, my computer speakers sound better than my whole rig when you play D: Also, you just made me buy this pedal. Currently I have the keeley caverns reverb + delay, it's a really good pedal but the delay doesn't work that well with dirt and fuzz... so I'm changing it for the nux.
How’s the NUx so far? My Caverns is okay with ODs n Fuzz but wanting the tap tempo function n try the freeze function.
why am i crying over this pedal
I am sold.
I think it’s pronounced like New-X. Great video!
6:12 that face hahaha
nice playing man
love the tone on this perfect for the surf sound im looking for
Nice thanks Brett.
Очень крутая штука.
Спасибо автору за видео!
Perfect design, features wise. The only downside is the shimmer sounds wayyyyy cheesy. Most of the time shimmer is cheesy to begin with, but this is like the sharp cheddar version. It's cool that you can dial it in at will though. If that sounded more like a pad sound, it would almost be the absolute best bang for buck in the category of echoverb pedals. It's close tho.
The Shimmer on the Keely caverns sounds decent imo. None of them sound like a real pad but- what do you expect man? If they put the required electronics in there to produce a real synth pad with a solid sound quality- it would be a very expensive pedal. Besides, no matter what you do, you're playing that pad via the speaker in your amp- which is generally speaking voiced primarily in the midrange band, if it's a good speaker- that's not going to sound great. If you EQ'ed the pad to make it sound nice and full- your guitar would disappear in the mix.
@@stoneysdead689 I never said anything about pedals having perfect pad sounds, so I don't know why you're giving me a lecture on electronics and EQ 🤣. All I was saying is that this particular pedal has an awful shimmer compared to the good ones which sound more pad-like. Strymon, MXR, Boss, and several others have it figured out. The NUX sounds like it's using a very inefficient FFT/phase vocoder to just give you a generic built in pitch based upon the input it gets. The technology to get a better sound wouldn't cost but pennies to get it to a more modern standard of pitch shifting. But maybe NUX is really that cheap.
@@LeviBulger A "lecture"? LOL- Jesus man, a little sensitive maybe? I was just trying to have a conversation with you- never mind.
Sounds good, it may be a great option for me! What's your thoughts about the ease of use, Brett?
This is a great pedal,I have one.
Damned nice. Would use it as a backup or parallel to my canyon.
Excellent, Brett! :-)
Please demo the Compressor/Boost and the Solid Studio as well!
That would be really cool!
Best regards from Denmark!
Cheers.
Yep, those two are coming up. Today if I can manage it.
Excellent!! I'll be looking forward to those videos!
Cheers.
this with the nux drive core and you have a decent board.
with they had a bit of pre-delay for the reverb or dwell.
I have the cerberus and this sounds a bit more matured in the firmware. please nu-x update the ceberus software and firmware.
I like this one too. I need this.
I do hesitate between this pedal and one with more various and excentric unusual modes, like Joyo Aquarius or atmosphere reverb or TC Hall of Fame or Flashback II...
I read in comments that some can suffer from a lack of quality and reliability...
In fact, I don't know and have to try but... Which one ? Is it good to read comments before ordering ? 😅
The question of testing by myself is not at all, by these days, a question that runs through the field of possibilities 🎻🍁🍂
The preamp sounds really nice. How can I get similar sound without having to buy a Fractal?
Why do I love the sound of shimmer?
Neil Aspinall cause it’s awesome. Not as nice as the h9 or even the HOF 2.
@@rhamilton8257 @ 149.00 It sounds really good. H9 is a obviously xlnt. But for budget guitarist it's a no brainer.
But there's notes here - not mere wizardry of PCBs. The music comes from the man.
I’d love one of these for my mini board. But if I have $150 to spend I’d rather buy a guitar 😊
New to all this. One thing it doesn't have is True Bypass. What, if any, issues would this introduce? Still learning. :) Thanks!
i want to order this pedal for my synth but i want to understand if it is real stereo input or only for guitar.
Same. did you find any Info on that?
I already have a delay pedal. I was wondering if I should get this Nux Atlantic Delay & Reverb or the Boss RV-6. Any thoughts?
what did yo get? im not shure If this one has true stereo like thé boss. and the boss might have a better Overall sound
Awesome!!!! :o
Does it work with a classical-electric nylon string guitar?
jose omar castillo of course
Awesome sounds once again :)
Is it truebypass?
Does it trail when you turn it off? Your demos are ace as always Brett!
Awesome
Brett, you could plug your guitar into a pot of yoghurt and you would sound good!
Great review, thankyou.
teknical100 debatale
Actually plugging into a pot of yougurt will make you sound creammy
Hey! Nice video, it helped a lot. Does anyone know what happens if you have the delay bypassed and then start tapping? Does it turn on and works at the tempo you are taping, does it recognize the tempo but still bypassed, does it just turn on and off? It's the only thing that I'm still in doubt!
Good question! Can anyone reply. Can you tap the tempo first before engaging the delay side. Can it do dotted 8th?
Thanks
Just wondering can you use this pedal with an acoustic setup
Is this through the front of the amp or in the effects loop?
So does it have a tap tempo?
Can it be compared to a dispatch master ? (which has no shimmer, having it on a switch is a great idea !)
Good demo ... but a Nux pedal for $200 ??
Granted it can do quite a bit ..but it's a Nux... resale would suck
Nice is good stuff
Is this the same as the delay and reverb in the Cerberus?
looks it but as you say. not yet (no firmware updates for long time either. so its probably a dead dog now). sigh
@@glenby2u There is a 3rd party Cerberus discussion group on Facebook, NU-X released V3.9 firmware there for users request. As they mentioned, they are sourcing requests from end users for firmware improvement. Don't be a hater. ^______^
Pretty much. The new updates to the Cerberus include a shimmer on the plate 'verb. I sold the Cerberus as I was only using it for IR, Chorus, and the Delay+Verb. I prefer the Solid Studio & the Atlantic for IR and Delay/Verb and get my drives and other mods from my favourite individual pedals. My main gripes with the Cerberus are the drives (they aren't great) and not being able to route the mods pre-gain, which is kinda essential for Uni-Vibe and Phaser. Those two were just too overwhelming post-gain.
@@mattgilbert7347 I think the distortion and they overdrive are quite good. The distortion does have a problem, though. The EQ on it sucks.
Brett what is the best way using this with 2 amps in stereo I have the GK sel 2100 head and the 5153 50 head as well I have a AB box
@brett kingman This one or the Flamma Ekoverbo?
Does anyone know if it's possible to trigger both effects, for soloing for example, at once without having to press both buttons at the same time?
does it support true stereo? Is the input jack trs?
Love the Teeshirt ! Where can I purchase one ?
Caroline Guitar Company!
what does the serial and parallel knod with the sound?
Obviously taking on the Strymon, but is there an appreciable difference? How good is it? Sounds good to me, but i wonder what it is about Strymons that inspires such adoration - that this may not have/do.
Strymon is delay and tremolo, this one has reverb, duh.
Forgive me, jackass, for thinking of the el Capistan, which is a delay pedal with Spring Reverb.
lago - fail
No, Strymon is tremolo and reverb, duh.
Well lets face it, Strymon are good but overpriced and considered a boutique pedal build in the USA. I'd be fine to have this one instead at almost 1/3 of the price and has the delay unlike the Blue Skye. There's always an angry wanker around isn't there ie Iago B
This or the keeley caverns?
Ok!
This pedal allows you to plug direct into 2 amps..correct?
I'm running my Atlantic in channel A of my ABY box to my Orange micro dark which has no reverb. Channel B runs to a Digitech rp500 in stereo to 2 solid state amps. I'm researching whether I can connect the Atlantic to both the Microdark and the rp500 to my other 2 amps.
Can this pedal go full wet or not? I'm gonna cry if it can't...
It's a shame you have to hold for the shimmer otherwise I'd be on this one.
Great demo - as per usual, but no modulation? What an oversight. Ahm oot.
There's modulation built into the 60's and 80's delay algorithms; the 70's not so much.
HAS ANYONE TOLD YOU THAT YOU LOOK LIKE ERIC CLAPTON
C'mon I've seen his channel the last years and all the time I thought this was Clapton's channel, your comment made me realize he ain't Clapton 😭
What distortion did you use
How can this pedal effect the sound of his guitar? There are no cables in it!
Lol. It’s also 2ft wide and floating in mid air :)
