  • www.nuxefx.com/... One of the best Delay and Reverb algorithms in a metal box. Special select 3 classic Delays & 3 classic Reverbs . . . and we added a bonus “Shimmer” and "Freeze" effects which let you create a dreamy waterfall shimmer~ especially handy for intros, interludes, and endings. And now, because of NUX’s latest Core Image Technology, the new Verdugo Series effect pedals offer pro-level sound enhancement.

    Best value pedal on the market atm, hands down. Their Masamune Comp/Boost and Solid Studio IR loader/Power Amp+Mic sim are pretty good as well.

    This has to be the smartest implementation of shimmer verb I've seen so far. It's not something anyone's generally going to have consistently on, it always comes off to cheesey.

      The momentary aspect is what sold me over "better" featured pedals like the Keeley Caverns or the EHX Canyon, for this exact reason.

    This is a great pedal for players who want to save some space on their board. I have had nothing but good luck with this pedal. It's a steal for $100! If I only knew how to get the dotted 8th. Very Quiet, plays well with others, easy to use and adjust on the fly. I run this in the front of the amp, as I have no Eff Loop. I love being able to run parallel and boost if I need to. It's really helps keep everything clear even with using higher gain. The hold function on the Hall setting is awesome. I can't stand shimmer, so I usually use the hold function. I've owned several Nu-X pedals, most have been great for the price. I did receive two morning stars that were dead out of the box. Both were purchased used off of Reverb, so I can't blame that on the company. Hey, it's $100! If you dont't like it just return it. It's not like you're going to have too get a second or third job to afford this pedal.

    Mike, do you prepare your covers in advance and then just feature a pedal with it, or do you receive a pedal and think, "oh this would sound great with such and such song, I'll cover it."?

    • @popintothechemist
      @popintothechemist  Před 6 lety +10

      Jessie Klassen I usually arrange the covers around the pedal unless it’s a song I’m revisiting and then I’ll just tweak it to fit...

    Hey! Nice video, it helped a lot. Does anyone know what happens if you have the delay bypassed and then start tapping? Does it turn on and works at the tempo you are taping, does it recognize the tempo but still bypassed, does it just turn on and off? It's the only thing that I'm still in doubt!

      If you update your Cerberus to the latest firmware they are almost identical, but I believe the hold function on the Cerberus only applies to the Plate Reverb/Shimmer, but that may have changed. Check the NUX site for info.

      I actually own the SA EQ pedal. It's hard to do different AND good, so people either put out wacky "unedited" designs or they just take an existing design and change the color ala this pedal. Lots of wacky designs out there that do well, but one thing Strymon does well is great ergonomics, boring or no.

    • @martinkrauser4029

      Chinese designed pedals have a lot of baggage to overcome. Going for the most prestige brand look is sending a clear signal about their quality and market placement intentions.

    • @yargnad
      @yargnad Před 5 lety +2

      @@kbirridia Then why are you complaining. It's a small box with knobs. Once they get so small there's not much left in the way of original layouts. Besides some of the Strymon guys are now at NUX.
      I've got he NUX modcore that isn't anything like this format and it's pretty good too. I could care less about the form factor as long as it isn't a PITA.
