    I also loved that Lord Ledger called Violet beauty and brains as her nicknames. He always started with beauty and followed it up with brains instilling in her that she was beautiful and smart. I love that.

      Mmmm…yes! I love that so much! Because her mother could have really done a number on her if her father was there to balance out the crazy! That woman was off her meds for sure! 🤣

      @@JoiLouiseReacts Her mother was just....not it. And I love that the father clearly wasn't here for here either with the way he aired her out to Agatha about her intentionally trying to miss her ball until the King said what was up lol. Thank goodness he was there for Violet because she would've turned out like Lady Featherington without him.

      @@suprsparx Yes!!!!! I loved the way he aired her out to Agatha! She had no respect for anyone. Even saying Charlotte had no taste in music for taking a liking to Mozart. And the wanna be plastics just following along and agreeing with her. So shallow and stupid.
      Lady Featherington is so miserable! Her poor daughters. That mixed with the father appearing to have a gambling and drinking addiction was just too much! Penelope is the only one with any sense and true character! Excited for season 3! CLEARLY! 🤣

      @@JoiLouiseReacts He aired her right out immediately. I was gagged. Then he said he liked her and wanted to be friends and I knew instantly what that meant. Especially when he danced with her. Bombastic side eye....... But yeah Lord Ledger's wife was an unapologetic racist and small minded so I knew he wasn't happy anyway. He even had to leave the house at some point every day just to get away from her otherwise he wouldn't have even stumbled across Agatha lmao!
      Honestly, I hated Lady Featherington until she chose her daughters over escaping with all the money that the new Lord Featherington had conned out of the families in the Ton. It made me realize that she really was trying to secure Marina a husband to ensure a decent life for her and her baby. It seemed like she was trying to pawn her off at first and sabotage her happiness with the father of her child but she was really trying to take care of the girl. Penelope is my favorite and was even before the reveal and I CANNOT wait to see her and Colin's story in season 3. I think it's the most excited I've been for the series yet.

    Charlotte asks repeatedly if the King is dead because that would be the worst thing in the world for her. She loves him and aside from all that would go into crowning a new King, she's terrified of the day that he dies because she'll truly feel alone. I noticed that every time she asked, here and in the original series, she always seemed scared of the answer and so relieved to find out he's still alive. Some people think that she's waiting for him to die, but they aren't paying attention because if that's the first thing out of her mouth, it's because it's the worst thing she could think of.

    I am so happy to see the love on your channel for Lord Ledger. I won't pollute your comments by repeating the exact things I've read and heard on other channels about this fine man. The summary is 'old, ugly, disgusting.' I mean, I understand that taste is subjective, as is chemistry, but don't people have eyes?
    I think it was obvious that Agatha loved Lord Ledger and that he truly respected her - something Agatha had never received from a man before - RESPECT. I do believe he ended things because he respected her and wanted to safeguard her reputation, as well as his own and his daughter's. (In interviews, Adjoa Andoh, the actress who plays Lady Danbury, has repeatedly commented that her love for Violet's father explains how invested her character is in the Bridgerton family.)
    Some commentors think the way he ended things - by bringing Violet on his walk - was especially despicable and cowardly, like he was hiding behind a child. I don't agree - I think he was demonstrating powerfully why they could not continue to be together. Not only for Agatha's reputation, but for his daughter's reputation. Because as bad as her mom was, Violet deserved to have an honorable father. And I do believe Lord Ledger was honorable. I believe that he truly cared for Agatha - that he slept with her because of those caring feelings, not simply because of lust. And that is why he ended it - because he cared.
    I look at Lord Ledger and I think, 'Awww, what a great grandpa the Bridgerton kids had!" I think Colin resembles him, and in the season 3 photo releases, we see Colin wearing a brown coat that resembles Lord Ledger's walking coat. At least that is how it looks to me! THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVELY CHANNEL!

      @JoiLouiseReacts  Před 5 měsíci +1

      What a lovely comment! Yes, I did think he was VERY honorable and so was Agatha. She could have made a scene and very well treated him and his family differently but they truly cared for each other and it showed. • @JoiLouiseReacts
      @JoiLouiseReacts  Před rokem +12

      Possibly! But also I think he was just a pretty chill guy who didn’t think too highly of himself when it came to gender or race. I especially loved the way he treated Violet. Her mother told her she thought/read too much and he called her “brains” while encouraging her learning and growing up to be anything but like her mother. He also understood that what he had with Agatha couldn’t go beyond that one day. Too much a steak for her. He would come out ok but she definitely wouldn’t. 🥺

    • @AnaisKarim
      @AnaisKarim Před rokem +4

      @@JoiLouiseReacts He had very good character and he was quiet but observant. He taught Violet that you don't judge people by skin color. Even though he's not protesting every time his wife opens her foul mouth, he has taken the time to teach their daughter to see the world very differently. He probably didn't have any choice but to marry her mother and his child is the only good thing that came from it.

    • @JoiLouiseReacts
      @JoiLouiseReacts  Před rokem +4

    • @AnaisKarim
      @AnaisKarim Před rokem +1

      @@JoiLouiseReacts My biggest fear about fleshing out Violet's backstory is there will need to be something to overcome in order to make a compelling story. People aren't going to watch 6-8 episodes of them traipsing through the garden with butterflies and floating on clouds holding hands. So what ugly unknown thing will pop up that they have to move past? Violet told Daphne that you have to choose to love each other and things aren't always smooth.
      Make Edmond white passing with a Black grandma. That would make Lady Ledger throw a fit and Lord Ledger fight for Violet to have her choice.

  • @AnaisKarim
    @AnaisKarim Před rokem +3

    Augusta had 9 children. George had a brother named Edward who was next in line. There were plenty of heirs.
    The one Charlotte gave the love advice became William IV. Though they didn't have children, he did love his wife.
    Run the World (Girls) was the perfect song for Agatha and Charlotte's scenes.
    Agatha and Violet only became real friends in Queen Charlotte. They were just polite ton members in Season 1 and 2 - matching making for the young people. Not to mention Agatha is a good 16 years older than Violet. Violet is 12 and Agatha is about 28. They weren't friends and hadn't even met at that point.

      Something I've seen a lot of reactors miss is that by trying to intervene as he does, Reynolds is directly disobeying the King's orders, hence why he couldn't just come back with guards or other staff - they would not have disobeyed the king. And also, telling other staff members and trying to get their help would risk having revealed George's illness, which could have been catastrophic in 1700s Britain (he could have lost his throne, or worse, as mentally illness was not understood and mentally ill people were treated appallingly). So Reynolds was in a really impossible, horrid situation (the book goes into more details about the strain and pain this put on Reynolds, being George's oldest friend, and wanting to help him, but not being able to 😢). Great reaction, btw!
