Venom was not good. But I loved it.
Tom Hardy brought an energy to the role of Eddie Brock that kept me thoroughly entertained whenever he was on screen. However, there were parts of Venom where Tom Hardy was NOT on screen, and those needed work, none more so than the film's villain Carlton Drake.
And I've found another Spider-Man villain that I think would have fixed all of my issues with Carlton Drake, fit perfectly into Venom and could have even set up a villain for the sequel.

A fun idea might be that in the final fight smythe uses fire or sound to incapacitate venom, BUT not eddie himself. So now eddie has to defeat the evil robot with his brain and not just muscle. That way we see how venom and eddie are as a duo. Both bring something to the table
Trivia time: Carlton Drake and Justin Hammer were created by the same writer. Wikipedia it.
Sure, you dressed as Justin Hammer. But, did you DANCE?
I would like to see how Nandovmovies would make a video suggesting how sequels should go.
Nando: "Instead of the Spider-Slayer, we can call him--"
Maybe I'm crazy, but why not just have Carlton Drakes true motivation to be him having an incurable terminal disease. He lies about wanting the symbiotes to leave earth or help people when all he wants is use one on himself so he can stay alive.
Can we just... .collectively nitpick the Kasady Wig..... WHAT WAS THAT
Nando: it should be...Spencer Smyth
You knocked it out of the park on this one, especially with the suggestion to have the Slayers be yellow. That match-up would look great versus Spidey's red n'blue as well
You are ruining movies for me, Cap. Whenever you upload your version I sit here, thinking how much better your version would have been.
How many takes did you need for saying "pick apart a piece of pop culture"?
Venom slayer doesn't have a good ring to it, I know Anti-Venom is taken, but what about Vaccine?
“The villain is obsessed with curing paralysis” is a plotline that really should only be used when at least one protagonist has a similar disability
Someone who is entirely focused on robotics can totally have an interest in symbiotes because studying life forms (even better, alien life forms) could help him build amazing super robots! Imagine a robot that could attach to a human in the way a symbiote does, it would enhance the human's capabilities and solve many problems related to creating robots, like simulating human emotions, etc.
One thing I have to say: The best part of the finale was Tom Hardy superman punching mr. billionaire in the face. I would have been fine with the symbiotes being driven out by the sound temporarily while Brock and Drake beat the living daylight out of each other.
Having rewatched the 90's Spider-man tv show recently, everytime you said Smythe the line "You have failed me for the last time Smythe" would play in my head. Too bad Kingpin isn't part of Spidey's gallery.
"Can work without spider man" ooooooohh too soon haha
Carlton Drake was supposed to be Norman Osborn. If you think of him like that, and the Life Foundation as OsCorp, then you can see that Venom is copying Spider-Man's origin.
Idea: Alister Smythe is a biologist or geneticist and gets hold of a part of venom. He develops a version of Anti Venom he bond to. This could lead to him discovering the truth about his father and help fight against carnage towards the end of the second film, kind of like a better version of Spider-Man 3’s ending
