It was Doctor Strange's spell. You can see that kind of ring effect outside from the No Way Home Trailer, but Venom does say "A Hive mind across universes" so he probably knows Tobey Macguire's Spidey and knows that he bonded with that Venom and then killed it

Mass Effect 2 was just awesome. They fix the annoying mechanics that didn't work in ME1 (which was already a great game), and really nail the formula of the "leader building the a team you care about". Even ME3 is amazing until the end, there is a specific moment about halfway though where everything you did in ME2 leads you to one specific scene and it was just mind blowing. It's a shame what has happened to BioWare since.

2's story is excellent, the concept behind bonding as much as you can and working to become the very best good or the very respected sadistic badass to get your crew to trust you completely so they don't die in a suicide mission. 3's army building was good but the ending really let it down. The Citadel DLC did go a long way to help out though.

The Venom stuff is spot on. The fact that Sony was pushing the end credit scene speaks volumes, because that is all people were talking about which is kind of sad when you think about it. I also agree that it felt like the movie was cut from another movie, it's criminally short, it's like they took a rated R film and what we saw was the version edited to put on network TV where all the gore and some scenes were cut for time to fit into a 2 hour time slot with 30 minutes of commercials. I know people are saying movies are too long now as movies start creeping back to 2.5 hours, but Venom 2 is under 90 minutes long and feels like the entire second act is missing.

We should assume the venom post credits takes place as the doctor strange spell is cast and the footage just isn't live. We don't know why the spell displaces the people it does, but I reckon it's to do with knowing Spiderman's identity, so maybe either Eddie Brock found out in the past and it's linked with how he lost his TV career, or a symbiote found out, and he knows through the hive mind. (maybe this is garfield-verse and spiderman was possessed by riot during his travels.)
I figure Eddie will stay in the MCU since he doesn't have anything to go back for, and that might be a good thing.

I'm kinda annoyed they are pushing this version of Venom into the MCU instead of just letting them do their own version. Now they have to compromise it in order to put these two together. I'd say just cast Tom Hardy in the MCU but their age difference is so big they'd have to come up with a new plot to explain the rivalry.

It's apart of the sharing deal between Marvel and Sony. Marvel gets Spider-Man in exchange for Sony being able to make their own Spider-Villain-Verse. Hence why they made Venom 2 and Morbius. Most likely outcome is Sony making terrible movies, because it's their favorite. And eventually they'll just sell the rights to Disney. Or screw themselves further and break the deal and make more awful Spider-Man films.

@@ryanlash3935 I hope the first one happens, just annoying since it'll ruin the stories of this version of Spider-Man no matter what. If it ever returns fully to Disney, they could just do the story again with a new Venom. Or something else entirely.

I genuinely enjoyed Venom 2. The acting was good and the story was ok (could it have been better? Yes, of course). I had a good time, and it served its purpose as entertainment. It didn't take itself seriously which made the film work for me. The only criticism I have to agree with is that the film series is held back by its PG-13 rating and how Venom 2 should have leaned more into the investigation side. Yup, on both accounts, yes!

I figured Carnage would have gone on a killing spree while venom mulled over intervening. But, like you said, PG-13

Carnage's breakout scene lost all sense of impact because of the lack of gore and blood splatter that was missing. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Regardless, I enjoyed the film. I like character driven stories which some can do without. So, Kasady and Shriek's chemistry was a standout. And I found Venom and Eddie's bickering amusing. Though, with Venom 2's short runtime, the film could have gone more into the investigation and lore.

James and Maso, on Mass Effect: If you have played the new Guardians of the Galaxy game and liked it, Mass Effect is basically that with better character dialogue and more cover-shooter-style combat. The GotG game is essentially just a Mass Effect clone (and that's why it's so great).
If you don't like GotG though, I'd say skip Mass Effect, it's probably not for you (I think they are similar enough that if you like one you'll either like or love the other).
