It's actually not healed. I still can't see out of it and just had another procedure yesterday involving a laser. Though even once it is healed, I'm not above wearing an eye patch for a video.
It's good. The dad drama is done better than Guardian's Curse with a nice moral and the parallel with Jake was obvious but effective. Feels a bit undercooked in some areas, with the weird logic of the fire ghost but overall it's solid.
Closet Keepers is a quite good underrated one so look forward to that.
Yeah, I think, for me, the short runtime is what killed the family drama side of things for me. Undercooked is a great word and I think that is just from cramming everything into 22 minutes.

I could swear I've seen the actor who played Jake somewhere before, though I'm terrible at remembering actors' names. Loved his line delivery though :D
He's (Michael Copeman) been acting regularly since 1980 and mostly 1-2 episode television appearances so odds are good that you have definitely seen him elsewhere. He was the best part of the episode for me.

The actress who plays Roxy played the main character in Liar, Liar: Secrets Between Father and Daughter. She played a sexually abused child, and she did a great job!
I thought it was a great episode. This plot felt like a stretch, but I get it - fires are almost like a living thing once they get going. The spirits of nature as some cultures believe.
As a kid, it worked as far as scares.
Yeah, in the movie Backdraft, they talk to Donald Sutherland's character, an arsonist, and he describes fire as his pet and one time his pet got away from him and horrible burned him. Fire is seriously terrifying.

Yeah, I don't think Exorcist 3 is a very good or scary movie, but that jump scare is one of the most intense from any horror movie.

@@JackOfAllNerdsShow There are fire ghosts in Japanese myth and lore. Possibly some inspiration from those sources.
For some reason I never saw this episode on Nickelodeon when I was a kid. Was it a Canada exclusive or something?
I'm not sure on that as it aired after I stopped watching the show. Seems like a lot of fans, who watched the show as a kid, know the episode though so I doubt it was region locked.
i will admit that the actor who potrayed the Dad was weak although The Family drama in this episode is more effective than Guardian's Curse. The haunted firehouse looks unique compared to other locations in AYAOTD. Looking forward to Closet Keepers.
Yeah, the family drama in Guardian's Curse was lame and with a much sillier resolution.
Hey I’m sure you heard already but Arleen Sorkin the voice of harley quinn for Batman the animated series passed away recently if it’s too much to ask during the next episode of Batman the animated recap could there be some sort of tribute to her?
Yes, I am aware. I'm not sure if there will be a BTAS review video this month, but just as I did when Kevin Conroy passed, I was planning to pay tribute to Arleen Sorkin at the end of the next video.
This was a good episode Tucker told some cool stories i think his stories were better than Sam's i just hate the fact he was such a brat in seasons 3-5.
I'm looking forward to seeing if my opinion of him changes once I get to season 6.
@@JackOfAllNerdsShow in season 6 he is a little more responsible cause he's the new president of the midnight society with his friends Megan Vange Andy and Quinn. I think in some hindsight the reason he's a brat is because Gary is his brother and he knows he can get away with stuff when he was younger. Have you done the recap and review of the prisoners past yet? I haven't seen it anywhere in your AYAOTD videos
