    Europe uses a 5 dbA doubling rate, here in the US we use the 3 dbA doubling rate. dbA is frequency based and measures freq. up to 1k HZ. The B and C scales measure lower freq and could help to account for the perceived differences. You are measuring "impact" noise not continuous (background) sound pressure levels. Good comparison and research. Thanks for the additional info. Great job crafting the stocks. You do excellent work!

    Talk about some thorough testing! WOW! Speaking of WOW, That stock is beautiful man, great job. I will give you one tip that will substantially change the attenuation capability as well as better pressure management. The Diffuser that I suggest in my videos is a melamine foam which simply a very tiny hole or porous sponge. The styrofoam you are using does not breath. No air will pass through that stuff. You are essentially plugging the end of the shroud. The Mr. Clean Magic eraser allows air to flow through at a controlled rate, therefore the barrel shroud has more capacity.
    Extreme awesome production quality in your video and thanks for trying out my Strip Stak Pak 😁

    Thank you for taking the time and effort to make this video. I am hoping to be able to buy an FAC version in the UK so every piece of advice you give is being listened to intently. It is called the Nova Vista Alpha HP900W (in wood stock) here. OH and Steve at AEAC with the Gauntlet? In my opinion..... not a patch on your weapons.

    the stripper pulls the air away prior to exiting the barrel so the skirts are not being pushed upon exit. Trying my best to avoid comments that involve a stripper, skirt, and blowing. But the whole reason to use an air stripper is to reduce the push on the skirt so the pellet flies straight.

    That's an awesome stock you made... i STILL think somebody needs to make a bullpup stock for the Nova freedom! You'll make a freakin fortune, even if this stock is plastic....

    The Benjamin Marauder seems like a waste of time, compared to this gun, but I really want to get the Aspen Seneca in .25 these guns just work right out of the box, and with a little tunning these perform far better than the Marauder, the Gauntlet is really impressive as well.

    • @AirVelocitySport
      @AirVelocitySport  Před 5 lety +1

      Yes, the liberty or the freedom (Aspen senca is the same gun as freedom) are great choices with little to no adjustment. My liberty out of the box was amazing. it took 5 minutes to shim the hammer spring and a quarter turn counter clock wise my gun was a 100 yard shooter. The Guantlet on the other hand is not as good as the liberty by far. The Guantlet uses a small bottle which can not be regulated above 1500 psi as the low side burst disc will blow well below 18k psi burst disc. (you can change the bottle but that will make it even more cumbersome to handle). Akward stock with cheap bottle cover, bolt cocking is terrible needs alot of work and even then it will eventually lock up if you do not constantly clean and lube it. I returned my Guantlet after a few weeks. I own 3 Liberties and I love them all.

    Looking forward to more on the Liberty . Quick question .. How has the Jumbo been holding up and
    in your honest opinion ... would you recommend buying it ?

      If the bore on the baffles is tight and concentric, it will also tighten up your groups. It may move your point of impact.

    • @AirVelocitySport
      @AirVelocitySport  Před 5 lety

      Hey Jeff, I just bought some 23 grain slugs but I haven't had a chance to really test them extensively. I'm going to be making both .22 and .25 caliber slugs next month. I'm going to be trying various weights and designs. Im hoping that skirted slugs at a weight of 22 grains are going to be good. I'm going to have to find the correct velocity for the novas twist rate. In short, I don't want to recommend a slug that I'm not 100% sure works well.

      How is the slugs making going? I ready to order! Lol . One thing though no but liberty is still shooting great made the Tiger lol adjustment . Let me ask u a question I don’t know because I don’t have a crony. But u Think it’s the magazines wearing out talking about the Benjamin marauder style. Because i’m getting some pretty wild inconsistencies through my 10 round magazine but not all 10 rounds 4 to 6 will go one way and then drop another what do you think nova brother from another mother

    Good air stripper reduce the drag behind the pellets!! Not all manufactures be able to create those results !!!!

  • @safakaswedishairgunforum-n1490

    looks like the accura y did not improve to much with the stripper on, the issue is propably increased velocity. its propably not the stripper itself wich is the issue.18,13 gr Jsb dont like speeds more than 860 ish, so tuned down to optimum velocity the stripper propably doing fine. i tok my velocity down from 920ish to 860 ish and groups reduced from 2 inch to 1 inch - ish groups. thanks for a great show and greetongs from fx country, sweden

    Your LDC decreased the distance by 10-15% closer to your decimeter. Your numbers with the LDC might have been lower if you moved the decimeter back the length of your LDC to make it apples to apples.

    What is the legal opinion with these suppressors that can be screwed onto any gun instead of permanently affixed to an air rifle?

    • @nmarbletoe8210
      @nmarbletoe8210 Před 3 lety +1

      I think a firearm would blow the tires off an airgun suppressor. I think that's why they seem to be legal with no hassle. No expert here.

    • @Pipizzakitchen
      @Pipizzakitchen Před rokem

      Legally, if it can be installed on a firearm and used one time and it reduces the sound, they can run you. I make them out of materials that would fall apart on a gun and bond it to the barrel with JB WELD.. Better safe than sorry.

  • @wileydr
    @wileydr Před 5 lety +2

    Seems to be a lot of dead air space between the end of barrel and end of shroud. Can’t the shroud be cut off at breech end to allow for a screw on moderator. Now your only talking about adding two inches not seven to the overall length.

    • @AirVelocitySport
      @AirVelocitySport  Před 5 lety +1

      Yes, there is about 5 or 6 inches of dead space in front of the barrel but it actually does a fairly good job. More importantly you can only cut the shroud down about 2 inches and add a 1/2 unf thread or other thread because the air tube is only 2 inches shorter the the shroud. I cut one of mine down 3 inches now I can only thread on a 1" diameter moderator. Anything larger will on screw on as it will hit the air tube. The shroud and air tube are very close together.

      @wileydr Před 5 lety +1

      Air Velocity Sport so at least we were thinking along the same lines. It’s a great vid, your doing good work. Don’t know your profession is but you can add gun stock manufacturer to it, cause that is a work of art.

    those "suppressors" could use a little science to muffle the sound. 3db is virtually indistinguishable by human. The proper designed suppressor must have the stacks shorter than the length of the projectile.

    • @Pipizzakitchen
      @Pipizzakitchen Před rokem

      Not true, if they are drilled tight enough. I built a device for a Benjamin Maximus.22 ( way too loud) with the 6 stack distances running between 5/8"" and 1 1/8" and it was ridiculous quiet. There important thing is that the stack distances must increase towards the exit, and they cannot be even increments bigger or doubled. Even stacks will set up a harmonic that is loud, and for some reason, seems to ramp up ping.
