My wife and I (Martine) met you guys at Squirrel Creek Ranch (just after the rail trail) at lunchtime on day 11. You got about a day on us over the next couple of days, and we never caught you! You did fantastic. Well done. We rolled in the day after you.
Andrew Strempke - had a few (well, quite a lot!) of down moments, but got there broadly OK. Had some knee problems (cramping quads from lack of minerals) around Del Norte area, which stopped us for 1/2 a day, but I guess no one gets out of the route without some issues! You could chop a deal of time off the route, having the information that we now have, but I suspect that we can’t get over to do it again. Best,
A great human effort to do something most can't do and others won't do :)
Awesome video! I love all the comments, daily mi/climbing, and info you put into it. Great edit.
Great vid guys, I'm planning on making the journey next spring after I retire; it will be my first tour. My riding partner has done numerous cross country trips including hiking the Appalachian trail. This is my first trip of more than a day. Your Vid gives me confidence that with good planning I can achieve this goal of a lifetime!
As somebody who has spent his entire life in Europe, I envy you those infinite empty roads with not a car or person in sight😍
"who has spent his entire life"... Does that mean you're dead ??
@@vzmax well I can’t travel into the future other than at the usual rate.
@@HkFinn83 I was kidding, of course, but like you I'm envious of the North American landscapes. I really think to move over there sometimes. In Québec.
Well done! Inspiring video!

Awesome trip! Nice job with the video putting together each day and capturing the important areas that you found interesting. I'm so impressed with how you crushed the miles everyday with the amount of climbing involved. Thanks again for sharing your trip.
You two are absolute BEASTS on the Bikes . Insane daily miliage . Well Done !
You made it.... and together! Riding this solo is hard enough, but with a partner is next level! :) Hats off and CONGRATS to you both!
Great ride! Thanks for sharing your trip with us. Planning on 2020.
Bob Fomenko : if you can video it I’ll be the first to view ,and have fun (-.-)
Awesome video. Nicely done. Subscribed. ✌️
Great, you made it look easy!
Inspiring and hope to do it, i watched too many videos :) Tks for posting the gears list and comments, helpful. Peace and ride safe!
Tanks for putting this amazing video together. Really enjoyed it. Impressive that to kept always a good vibe despite the crazy daily mileage you have ridden.
This video seems to capture a lot of the logistical aspects, the scenery and the tough parts very well. Thanks for putting it together. I'm heading out there in June!
Wonderful.
Great trip guys. I started my trip in February 2018 and finished in the middle of 2019. I would love to ride here sometime very soon. I am thinking of riding from Montana all the way to somewhere very south.
Great resource for us. Thank you very much for putting this together. We’re riding the GDR this summer on dual sports and it is helpful to get a section by section core sample of the trail.
This will really help me talk my son into doing this with me on my 60th in a few years
Amazing ride along. Hope you got some enjoyment out of the snow and had some warmth at night. Tough stuff, 100+ miles a day with wind, dirt, mud and mud.
good stuff! Can't wait to try next yeAR!
Congrats
Great work you guys! I don't think I've ever seen a film that has captured such herculean dedication and endurance as this. The visual/audio monotony was both painful and beautiful to watch and hear. It reminded me of koyanaskatsi. And your editing blended the road crew's and Josh's experiences with poetic contrasts. Thank you for making this movie!
Really great video, I love how you show what the trail really looks like. You guys are studs, doing this in 25 days! Congrats!!
Back in 94’, my friend and I biked the pavement version along the Rockies, Missoula to Durango, overloaded with all of our highway camping gear. You both are extremely beastly! It took us 21 days to ride 1,700 miles, with the 12,000 ft pass in Estes Park being the high point.Sometimes, we experienced animosity and intimidation from passing motorists, and I remember thinking that there had to be a better way
I'm used to hiking, camping, and trail running for our CZcams channel. Trying to convert my old Fuji Touring bike for bikepacking videos to see more of the outdoors each day. Enjoyed the video. Learning again about another way to enjoy the outdoors. Subscribed to your channel.
When I left the US Army in 1992, I went to the University of Wyoming for my undergraduate studies. A beautiful part of the country, to be sure. Michigan is now home for me. Awesome ride, you guys! Thank you so much for sharing. Be safe out there. Benton Harbor, MI.
Wait a minute, did you live anywhere between Wyoming and Michigan? And where did you live before Wyoming?
@@HkFinn83 Kansas. Before Wyoming, fourteen years in the military.
Awesomeness .
Awesome! On my bucket list! Very impressed how many miles you did every day, considering the terrain and surface. It would even be a feat to do the same distance on a road bike in the flat. Sometimes you even had to trudge through snow.
Thanks for filming and sharing!
I just read about your Colorado trip on Bikepacking.com and Karen did a very fine honest article. It was thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you
Love those fat tires. I can't imagine cycling that railroad bridge without them.
Chapeau !
Good one
Awesome 👍
Retiring from my current job next summer... I have big plans in store!
Great video! If there is one thing that I could go back and accomplish in my life would of been to ride the Great Divide...
There's no age limit! :)
hope to do that too sometime in the future
Epic trip, congratulations. Would love to ride that for 4 or 5 days.
I got a little misty when you parents showed up.Nice vid
So Good ;) Stuning...!
good^^ 잘 보고갑니다^^
Only when you see the way some people put their videos together you appreciate professionals
Thought about my Z-Lite Thermarest for bikepacking now I'm sold! 😀
If you like the GDMBR, consider a winter ride on the Baja Divide. I've rode them both and the Baja Divide is great too. Consider a ride of the GDMBR starting at Banff in early fall when the crowds will be smaller and temperatures will be milder further south. (you might get a light dusting of snow at higher elevations) The fall colors are awesome too. Another point - If you have the time available, don't rush it - the time outdoors and the primitive camping are great.
Super bike video krásná příroda 🏔🚵♂️🏕💚💚💚👍👍👍🌞🌞🌞❤️
Awesome video. I don't know why I seem to feel like I don't have enough room. Glancing at your bikes and mine I feel like I should have way more storage capacity.
I live and ride in Fernie , love the adventure rides. Where exactly is " The Wall " ?
haha i saw the snow and was thinking.. maybe these guys started in april ... nope that's just the rockys
great vid!
Thanks for sharing your journey with us. Which company made your custom TI frame?
You guys put in some high mileage days!
I would love to do this.
Nobody told me there was food at the Beaverhead outpost! What the hell?!? I agree with you about the riding from there to silver city...some of the toughest riding on the entire route. I was rained on that entire day but I'll take that over heat stroke.
