Riding over the impressive Omarama Saddle, we struck fantastic weather and it turned out to be one of my favourite days.

Nice video-food for thought. My wife and I bikepacked from Christchurch up to Mt Cook NP, then down the A2O Trail in 2020. Now about to head to Greymouth to ride the West Coast Wilderness Trail. Can't wait! PS:We're from Oz.

Another great video thanks. Was the closed gate padlocked? I'll be e-biking the Sounds to Sounds route Jan 2025 and lifting an e-bike over gates is not ideal 🙂
Thanks for watching. The gate was not padlocked, just shut. I know that people had issues in the Molesworth this year. They closed & locked the gate at Cob Cottage Campsite due to the fire risk. This was to stop vehicles driving thru but you were able to still ride.
