Hey how do you recommend cleaning? I want to make more traditional style rugs which would be long term living room type rugs so I'd like to know how to recommend cleaning.
You can clean with cloth and a little bit of detergent, plus a lint remover or soft vacuum

Thank you. I took your advise. I got my first tufting gun. I'm having a bit of trouble however. How do you know where your tufting line is to match up to the line you are trying to trace? And doing a curve or rounded line is hard to follow. Any tips? Also I over trimmed! 😂 I cut it down too much and shaved it to expose the tufting cloth. I went a little ham. It's also a challenge to figure out how to hold the clippers to get those beveled edges.
I hope it's just a matter of practice and I just didn't make a mistake buying the tufting kit 😢🥺🤷🏻♀️😩

So if you trace out the image on the fabric just follow the black lines you created and fill them in accordingly like a coloring book. When it comes to shaving and making curves I suggest starting very lightly and going very slow. It really just takes practice, Ive messed up and shaved too much before in my first two rugs. To make it easier on the beveled edges try scissors first. You will start to get confident in your line work. Remember its an art form, everyone needs practice :)

You can also get a guard for a razor, that way you can just let it fly and it will all be the same height!
