Recently reconnected with a old high school friend. In high school we were inseparable. But in the back of my mind, I always knew she envied me. But I didn't care, I just enjoyed her company...she was all the things I wished I could have been back then. She was strong, independent, and decisive. Back then, I was none of those things. Over the years, we lost touched. 2 years ago, there was a crisis in her family...when I heard about it, I reached out to her, (after almost 30 years) We were so excited to be able to talk and catch up via phone calls and text. To make a long story short, i shared things with her about someone we both knew, and you guessed it, she betrayed me to this person. At that point, I did what the young folks call "ghosted" her. I now realize, even after all these years, she will never change, and is incapable of being a loyal friend. Lesson learned.
Happy Dee Dee really that was your bad, after all those years you dont a person with that kind of gap people change you were essentially meeting up with a “familiar stranger” you shared things with a stranger and expected confidence. She was shitty to do that. Hope you learned a valuable lesson. Forgive her and please never contact her again lol

My best friend and I have been friends since we were 15; we are 40 now. We are family. We can tell each other the raw dog truth about whatever and neither of us gets upset. I truly love, appreciate, and have her back until the end.

If my friend had been upgraded, I would have gladly pushed her to take that seat in first class then tell me all about it after we disembarked. Especially If she has never experienced it. If she has done it several times I’d hope she would choose to stay with me in economy class.🙂
I had my very first opportunity to fly first class last year at age 61 (had to pay). It was only a three hour flight too Lol... but It was a really nice experience not having my knees bruised by being stuffed into economy class seat.
I think everyone should have that 1st Class experience at least once in life.
It would be a different story if I was left with no seat on the plane and my friend went on without me. Jmho😊
What I love most about Oprah & Gayle's friendship is that you can feel the honesty of the friendship. 😊 As Gayle King once said to me at a WFSB meet & Greet "all good things".

What kind of friend would deny another friend an upgrade? I'm supposed to say to my friend's face "Don't go sit in first class, stay with me in coach." Isn't that a bit like losing oxygen as your friend climbs? Big or small good fortune is good fortune. If I can't handle you in sitting in first class without me am I going to be all right with you as the CEO?

I'm going to be in the minority on this, but I honestly wouldn't care if my friend upgraded. I'm such a jaded traveler, used to traveling in work groups where the class seating is all over the map, I'm fatigued by the time I get on any plane and and all I want is my cocktail, my movie, my headphones for the jazz station, and to sleep if there's time. I don't want yo play patty cake with anyone around me, so if you want to hustle your tail right on up to first class, be my guest! We'll party once we get to the destination, lol.

Me and my best friend - I would be celebrating if she was updated to first class if we were on a plane trip together and I would be giving her major 'hell yes' and so happy for her because I want the best for her and also because then maybe her seat will be empty beside me in economy and I get extra room too. And then also I would bug her for every detail about first class after and also encourage her to stow some of the first class goodies in her bag to share with me later!! :)
I just dropped someone I've known since I was 4 years old😠😆 and continue to shed for the past 20 years. No draining or toxic repetitive conversations or behavior or jealous comments in my head!! Often trying to manipulate or gaslight! Including family on ice. I find the older some people get they a tendency to either regress into teen or juvenile behavior or copy their children or project on to others and some go to church on Sunday repent and repeat on Monday😆🤔😠

My childhood (16 years of age) friends are haters. We’ll be 64 years of age this year. I haven't dropped them, I understand them, and I set boundaries. The Holy Spirit says to show them, Christ, so that's our relationship. When I first noticed the negativity I was pursuing my masters and starting my internet entrepreneurial business, in the midst I was certified as a clinical legal nurse consultant. So they were being negative and I wasn't noticing (lol) I was too busy. When I did notice I was going to drop and as mentioned God said no. So here we are they're hating and I'm pursuing life. I set limits as mentioned so I'm sure the backbiting is behind my back😳🤣😂😍🤗.
@ there are people who thrive on other people's misery or are toxic and critical to others and envious instead of fixing themselves! I have a busy life that i am paring down and can't babysit everyone I encounter! I didn't expect pity that's NOT my objective.

The airlines need to know who's occupying what seat. For instance if there is a crash, they should be able to trace who was sitting where (saw it on one of the air crash investigation programs).

Some people lose oxygen because theyre not "fit" for the climb (mentally/spiritually) & should just stay on the ground. Others lose oxygen because they use theirs up gasping every time you go a step higher!

The best diet advice I got was when Dr. Phil first came on the Opray show, (OMG the 90's!!!). He said going on a diet is like putting on a band-aid. If you want to lose weight, mentally change your mind.

I don't think either one of them would stay in COACH, lol. I never knew Oprah's limousine broke down before. See we are now getting to hear what the tabloids may or may not have had right over the years. Now there is no reason for tabloids to use Oprah or Gayles names. lol

Also, it's nice 2 see 2 women who are best friends/sistah's who support each other from a loving, healthy place. Another point it's showing the women who don't have close friendships but want 2 experience trusting relationship how it looks. Both Gayle & Oprah are showing girls & women loving friendships do exist even if they are not blood-related. I respect many ventures & sharing that Oprah exposes but Gayle is my sistah in my head!!!!
