    Great video!
What would you do if you already have 4 drives In this bay and want to expand its capacity? If you are RAID 1 or more, can you put a larger size drive in the bay one at a time and the NAS will replicate the data to the new drive? Or is there another way to do it?

That is a good question. This asustor doesn't support raid arrays with different size drives, you can use different size drives but it will always be limited by the smallest in the array. If you replace all of them you would have to replace them one at the time and let the raid system rebuild each time. Once all the drives are replaced with larger ones, you would get the full capacity. You can buy an extender which is another asustor device that would be connected to your Nas. That would give you four more bays.

@@HeikosGarage fascinating, and very cool! So potentially, if all 4 of my existing drives are 2TB, and I want to upgrade them all to 4TB, I would need to replace them one by one, and by the time all of them are replaced, only then I would see the increase in capacity?

      @@jakefried6914 I think so, yes.

Hi thanks for the video. I would like to replace my Asustor AS1102T (with 2 slots) currently in Raid 0. I would like to buy a higher performing Asustor NAS... do you think I can use my 2 HHDs without losing data on the new NAS?

That is a good question. I can't say for sure. It is a risk trying. What if you buy the Nas and two new drives and transfer the data over from the old to the new and then after the fact you take the old drives out of the old Nas and add those to your new Nas just to increase storage space.

@@HeikosGarage the idea is good, of course I should invest more money, but in reality I would have less risk.
