I think the 9g-tronic box is probably the smoothest around, you usually don't even notice the gear shifts. You make a good point at the end!

just to correct , the 48v mild hybrid tech is only used in petrol models of the glc eg-200, 300, the diesels gets a normal 12v system. if theirs mild hybrid tech, the front speedo console will show somekind of EQ boost graph thing

6:35 *Tyres are usually 'Run Flat' and I have discovered recently the inflation pump worked amazingly well inflating a flat tyre (faulty Valve) to 3 bar (44 Lbs Per Square inch) in around 2-3 Minutes and drove safely to a local garage and fixed. Simples. It's amazing that at **10:35** an strong Irish input got any response, it will learn in time and adapt to your strange hardly delectable dialect so not to worry, apparently didn't trigger at **11:12** so what's the problem Paddy McGee Fella*

FYI the E Class, like nearly all of the latest Merc models, no longer has the ipad-on-the-dash layout. The C & GLC are still a generation behind with the next C class (announce 2020, arrive 2021) getting the new continuous layout. When I first saw the "iPad" design (2012?) I honestly thought the screen was removable/upgradeable (cool!) but no, those drivers just get stuck with a thing that quickly looks like a fairly shit iPad, and will with the current GLC too.
SUVs sell in the US so small ones will sell in Europe. Note not so many saloon refreshes. MERC has to move everything to hybrid, and plug in hybrid or EV by 2030 and mild hybrid as a minimum. Makes up for selling those AMG supercars and the S class fuel guzzler

I remember the last time I drove by the Curragh near Kildare I saw a local get into a fight with a sheep. It was hard to know which had the hairier back. Next thing I knew he was bundling the poor sheep into the passenger seat of his ancient Nissan Micra. I wish I could have videod it.

Mild hybrid means it can access that big battery from 0 km/h. So heated seats instead of heating the whole interior.
Why would you be bothered by having to drop the seats from the boot, because if you need to drop the seats your obviously putting something info the boot that requires the seat or seats to be dropped.
The air vents seem to take up a huge amount of space I would expect a screen to take up.

It's been a really busy January so far, there's loads of very cool stuff happening really soon. The Sunday Service will return on the 26th of January for another run and we'll have the lightbox back.

Mild hybrid fixes the poor stop start experience. More useful in traffic (nobody)
Stephen Doherty and it supports engine a bit in terms of acceleartion. More important no starter in those types of cars.
