  • The Most Dangerous Dragon in The House of the Dragon. While the politics, betrayal, and intrigue of The House of the Dragon are reasons enough to watch the story of this series on their own, the dragons are the element that makes this story so amazing. In the universe of A Song of Ice and Fire, there have been dragons that have changed history, from burning entire cities to unifying Westeros. In this video, we will be talking about the most dangerous dragons of this series, to determine which one is the worst of all.

HBO and Martin has a tremendous opportunity with The Cannibal. He's so clouded in mystery that you can do almost anything with him. You could say that he did come to Dragonstone before the Targaryen dragons and he's not one of them. And since he's not a Targaryen dragon, that he has different genes so he ages and grows differently than the Targaryen dragons do. You could make it so after he left the dance, he went back to Old Valyria or the thousand islands to live and stayed hidden mostly. Then Jon Snow finds him in the sequel . Just a lot you could do with the Cannibal...A LOT.

I would love to the see Aurion the valyrian Emperor who also survived the doom, along with his great dragon. It has to be expected that his dragon was much bigger then Balerion the black dread, since the targaryians weren't a very big house in valyria.

    • @tanman49
      @tanman49 Před 7 měsíci +10

Yup that’s true and balerion had just been born so he was probably 15 years old maybe 16 when Valeria exploded.
Though I believe size doesn’t matter where dragons are concerned is personality and edges and each dragon has their strengths but this guy dragon was huge. But balerion no dragon grew as big as him ever. So his size surpassed that guy and his great dragon. And he was the most Ferocious, had the hottest fire, the stealthiest meaning he was black and his fire black in color so he was hard to see at night. He had every advantage and no disadvantages. He only stopped growing a few years before he died. But other dragons they have certain advantages and weakness not all pros. Which is why some believe only caraxes had the fearlessness and ferocity to go head to head with vhagar and stick with that move.
As the video said other dragons avoid the cannibal or ran away when he comes in. Caraxes wouldn’t be running from the cannibal. Though he knows he will loose he would meet him head to head. He is fearless and crazy and suicidal like daemon. Some people think he some mutant dragon especially as he was slender and only dragon to have wings on his hind legs. He wasn’t as skinny as the show made him out to be but he was slender. But he crazy brave and had the baddest temper and even more ferocious than sunfire in that video

This is not 100% accurate. The Dread is the only KNOWN Dragon to of be been born on old valyria. However it is possible the Cannibal may have been born there as there are rumors he came to Dragonstone before the Targaryens. Also there may be dragons still in Valyria as when the Dread went back there with Aerea and came back heavily injuried. It is thought other dragons bigger than the Dread caused this damaged. However neither these other dragons or the the origin of the Cannibal is confirmed but its possible the Dread is not the ONLY one.

What we do know is the Cannibal was the eldest and largest of all their wild dragons.
No one knows how old he was, but he was around during Jaeharys’s reign and had been for many generations on dragonstone, as Sheepstealer and Grey ghost were known to be young.
It’s not too much of a stretch he was around at least during Maegor’s reign.
He was big, not Balerion or Vhaegar size but he was probably Vermithor size, as Sheepstealer was a good size dragon already and he was much smaller plus he drove off Sheepstealer to eat Silver Denys and his sons, which means he has to be much bigger to scare a dragon off.
He was never caged, ate whatever and whenever he wished, flew however much he wanted, he was in short able to live well and grow much faster.
I’d say he probably did reach Balerion’s size after he fled dragonstone, he is either alive on Skagos due to never having fought in wars and taken injuries, or dead somewhere like when Rakkharo sees a dragon skeleton so big he can ride through its mouth.

No. This can never happen. Once a rider is bonded to a dragon, another dragon will not bond to them.
"According to Daenrys, no dragonrider ever flew two dragons; even Aegon the Conqueror never dared mount Vhagar or Meraxes, nor did his sisters ride Balerion. Since dragons live longer than people, after a dragonrider dies - his/her dragon may bond with another person."
-A Dance With Dragons, Daenrys VIII

The Cannibal is overrated by the people of Dragonstone. He was probably born during the reign of King Jaehaerys. He might be the same age as sheepstealer or maybe Vermithor and Silverwing but older than them. He wasn't mentioned by the time of Aegon the Conqueror or even before that. A dragon that size or ferocity should have made him famous already but he was never talked about. People just started talking about him by the time of the Dance or maybe King Viserys. Besides, the Cannibal did eat other dragons but he only ate eggs and younglings. He never bothered the other dragons like Vermithor, Silverwing, Dreamfyre which I would guess were much bigger than him by the time they resided in Dragonstone.

Totally could be. Cannibal could predate the Targaryens too.
IIRC, Dragonstone was a Valyrian outpost well before the Targaryens fled Valyria. I had always wondered whether or not Dragonstone was deserted when the Targaryens arrived. Was there a small family of dragon riders chilling out there? Did House Targaryen kill them and take Dragonstone?
I had always wondered if Cannibal, in particular, was a non-Targaryen dragon from a previous Valyrian tenant who managed to stay alive.

@@johndinobuff583 Let's leave dragons out of this for a second, since this seems to be perturbing you a great deal- the idea of dragons on Dragonstone before the Targaryens is far-fetched to you. Got it. You feel that way. Fair enough, so let's not consider that for now.
So, what you're saying is that the Valyrians built up this rather impressive outpost and nobody really occupied it? It's just there in case they wanted to use it? Or was it some transitory holding, like anyone in the freehold could just chill there if they wanted to trade with the Westerosi? Or was it built by some house in Valyria and ultimately abandoned for some reason?
I'm having a difficult time understanding why Valyrians built this castle to begin with if nobody of significance ever stayed there before the Targaryens came with their dragons. I mean, there had to be dragons there at some point because it's built without bricks and forged from dragonstone, yes? Perhaps I'm misremembering the description? (if so, I apologize... it's been years since I've read and I haven't read all of Fire & Blood) I thought it was shaped by dragon fire and magic?
So, my question ultimately is why would Dragonstone basically be abandoned for the Targaryens just to roll up and call it home?

What about that dragon at the end of the first season. Daemon is in a dark cave, but they only show the jaws of the dragon.

Vhagar is huge, fierce and battlehardened. The only disadvantage when riding Vhagar is her slowness and her huge turning circle.
