I was moved by the growth of Rain throughout the movie. They fleshed out his character well, and I just feel like I can empathize, relate even. I too have been hit by a hammer, and burned... both emotionally and physically on my fingers.. accidentally... by myself. I've never ninja'd anybody, but I have exhausted myself for an ungrateful boss, I think we've all been there before. Rain fell outta the sky in the start of the film, and his boss and coworkers wanted to keep him down ever since. I've never been fired in the same way and I don't know about previous inciting incidents, as I'm not in Shao Kahn's Outworld Human Resource Department..There may well have complaints of conduct or behaviour, but speaking as a myself, a man who's claimed only a handful of champion souls for my boss, I think his achievements claiming thousands was something inspirational to aspire to. Maybe Shao Kahn will read this and have a change of heart and fish my boy out of the fire. You can toss him in a new color and call him "Steam" or something. All I'm saying is that I went looking for a ninja character, but what I found was a real ninja person..

i will say this though, the mk games haven't bought into this mickey mouse shit where games are super easy these days. every shooting game is basically a joke because you can just run and hide while your health "charges" back up

Honestly I think Sheeva's extra pair of arms is one of the only effects in this movie that doesn't look like shit.

I was blown away the first time I saw this movie. It changed my life. The cgi was amazing. The fight senses were the best thing I’ve ever seen. It was faithful to the source material and the villains were among the most menacing among the kill count

Smoke was a character of the mk games
In the og timeline, he was a friend of kuai liang and when they found out about the cyber initiative, they run away but smoke is not so lucky and was turned into a cyborg. Also noob found him the storage room of shao and reactivated him so he could become bi han's pawn but in the konquest mode, he was saved by kuai liang in the lin kuei temple and in armageddon, smoke is in the forces of light and he died.
While in the NRS timeline, smoke's story is very much similar in the og timelime but he wasnt converted into a cyborg and he later died in sindel's killing spree but was revived by quan chi as his revenant. In mkx, the enenran demon inside smoke somehow controlled his body now.

Wow I remember LOVING this movie as a kid. Watching it now, it’s insane how unfinished and badly edited and just messy it is. But there’s still a lot of fun to be had with it. This actually made me want to revisit it!
