Fun fact:
The barking dog at 0:19 was James Cameron's dog in real life named Wolfie. Wolfie also made a second appearance at the end of this movie as Sarah Connor's dog, Pugsley, in her Jeep (Sarah named him after her pet iguana from earlier in the movie).
Later in Terminator 2, Wolfie made his third appearance as John Connor's dog, Max. The T-800 uses the name "Wolfie" (his actual name in real life) to find out that the T-1000 killed John's foster parents. The T-1000 kills Max only to figure out he's been tricked by the T-800.
I noticed that
That is a fun fact
That’s cool to know
I like to think that in all three appearances, Wolfie played the same dog. Like, maybe after killing the Terminator, Sarah adopted the dog from the motel and later gave it to John after she got institutionalized.
I thought the T-1000 only killed Max in the director’s cut.
I think that’s the only time Kyle ever smiled 0:14 in the entire movie. Glad he got to experience a little happiness and be with the woman he had loved for so long.
What I mean he only knew her for like 3 days and he stalked her for 1 of those days.
Well he got a chance to score!
@Gordon Freeman ok I can see that . you ever think he ever thought like what if I don't go back in time just to see if it was true
He seemed to be smiling during the conversation with the Dr. Silberman, especially when speaking about the defeat of Skynet.

Everything was perfect because they probably didn't have reserve jacket because of low budget haha, that is why T1 looks and is the greatest.. They will never ever even come close to it, T2 was pegi 12 compared to this masterpiece, but still awesome movie.. @@mystery4561 No, I love T2.. But I find most greatest one T1, because they managed to do so much with so little and so real.. I am horror dark type of guy for the movie genres so that is why I preffer T1, but have nothing against T2, it just wasn't dark feeling like first one, because they had a goal to be watchable by kids also.. I really do appreciate the change in Arnold's look here. It's kinda like seeing his "battle scars" since coming to 1984. His hair was burned, his jacket and shirt are all shot up, , his skin is pale, his sunglasses cover up his eye wound - his exterior disguise is literally rotting away, making his true-self known. Brilliant.
Goddamn it, Arnold was truly terrifying in this film.
@@IronMan-tk8uc better actor than he's given credit. He mostly entertained but he's really terrifying here.
Arnie is one of the few actors out there that can do both a heroic and villainous role at the same time and be just as equally excellent. Yes, this includes Mr. Freeze from Batman and Robin.
In early versions of the script it was even said that biological part of the Terminator was dying because one of Kyle's shotgun round destroyed the terminator's heart.

What the hell happened to this amount of brutality from the Terminator franchise? It's a damn killing machine, relentless and cold blooded. This is how it should be portrayed.
I know, instead they turned the terrifying T-800 into a kids protector who tells jokes and cheesy one-liners.
Sad stuff really, T1 from 1984 is the only one that got everything right.
Nicola Ferrari T2 managed to balance the humor and seriousness a T-800 could have while also adding some emotional flavor to it. They made it work there when the rest did not. Both T1 and T2 were successful in portraying their different T-800s in their own ways
@@livingbeing1113 t2*
T1000 was the same way.
Hey, come on. T800 hangs a mean curtain now.
Kyle Reese as portrayed by Michael Biehn......best character in the whole franchise.
A crossover idea I have that would be funny if Arnold and Michael are ever like at a con together or something that is quite hilarious in my head is having Biehn do his Tombstone Johnny Ringo lines and have Arnold read Val Killers Doc Holliday lines.
So the terminator shoots right away and tries to be actually efficient instead of just throwing their target across the room multiple times?
It learned to go in heavy after its quieter attempts failed. Even the music here tells us that it's on now. The film is done trying to be suspenseful with normal music and goes into straight-up action mode
Something tells me you did not see this movie first...(of course I know you were joking)

It’s so amazing how many genres The Terminator covers, Sci-Fi, Horror/Slasher, Romance, Stalker, Thriller, War, Drama, Futuristic and even a little comedy. Hats off to James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger for making such a legendary movie!!!
Watching clips of this movie actually depresses me slightly because it makes me realise how low this once fantastic series has sunk. This movie is fantastic film-making with an excellent plot and a terrifying villain. T2 was an excellent follow-up which took the ideas established in the original movie in exciting new directions and made it a complete story - we didn't need any more sequels. All the junk that has been released since T2 has just rehashed elements from the first two movies and felt like complete fan-fiction, turning the Terminator into a parody of itself. Hollywood if you're reading this - NO MORE TERMINATOR MOVIES!
First two? More like second. No movie in the series comes close to being half as threatening as T1.
I have to argue on behalf of terminator salvation. It is the one movie that doesn’t involve the time travel element that has been run dry in this franchise. Salvation actually tells the story of the humans fighting a losing battle against the machines, and John Connor who grew up with these stories of horror his entire life, in T3 he tried running away from it, which in all reality who wouldn’t try running away from such horrific events. In salvation it shows him struggling to become the great leader that he was meant to be. People complain about the lack of plasma weapons in it, that humanity still uses bullets and normal weapons. But it makes sense to use what we have available. After judgment day and the nukes dropped, it’s not like humanity had 40 watt plasma rifles available to use instantly, weapons like that have to be captured (which involves killing the terminator or HKs that have it with the weaponry they had on hand) taking the terminators weapon to a secure location and deconstructing the weapon to reverse analysis, of the humans left after the nukes nearly killed all of the human race, how many people have the knowledge of what the weapons consist of? If they were alive how do they consolidate to do that analysis. And lastly after getting that knowledge recorded, they would have to reverse engeneer it to be used for humanity. How many people still live to engeneer it. Then you would need the material to make the weapons, and lastly distribute the weapons out to the remaining resistance fighters. All this takes time to do, years even. They had to do this while also being hunted down by an army of killer machines that has advanced intelligence and military knowledge, that can mass produce machines endlessly bent on terminating the human race. So logically, having humanity using normal guns at the beginning of the war makes sense. The sequel to salvations would have gone into that (if it had an actual sequel, salvation was supposed to be the start of a new trilogy showing humanity eventually defeating Skynet and the last one in that trilogy would show John sending Kyle Reese back in time to stop the machines last ditch effort to kill the leader of humanity, by killing his mother. Essentially looping the two trilogies in an eternal cycle and closing off the franchise for good.
@@geeebuttersnap2433 Salvation would've been better if it had better writing, and if they hadn't fucked up how the world looked during the war.
Sure it's grim and probably a bit overly depressing, but the dark ruins of cities where skulls pave the streets and laser/plasma weapon bolts light up the darkness is what we were shown of the war. To take that away in exchange for a basic desert with regular guns is just wrong.
Hollywood no longer cares about entertainment though.
“I won’t even watch Terminator 6. Just let it die, Arnold you bitch.”

Can we all appreciate the fact that the t800 finally got sick of ducking pipe bombs and just shot Kyle through the rear windshield of the truck cab? I'm sure that the bullet wound, in combination with the car crash, the on again off again running and finally the up close pipe bomb that blow the t800 in half all contributed to his death. Still to go through all of that after the gunshot wound he received, is a testimony to his willpower and drive to see to it that Sarah survives and gives birth to John.

I just realised how Sarah's characterization was built up. At first she's (understandably) confused and terrified by everything, but when left on her own and backed into a corner, she takes initiative and tries to resolve the problem herself. Like when she ordered Kyle to stand up when he was fainting, or here, where she made the terminator crash off it's bike after Kyle was shot. Weird comparison but it reminds me of Gohan, from Dragon Ball Z a little bit. Can totally see how she became the woman she was in the second film, and why her son was the Fall of Skynet in the future.

Ironically, he was first considered for Kyle Reese. I am glad they got Michael Biehl instead and Ahnuld for the Terminator. They both were great in their roles.
Would’ve been interesting if Lance Hendrickson did it, especially doing Aliens and Alien 3 so well as a cyborg
The 80s and 90s were the best time for movies because they had the right amount of technology, now they have too much which ruins movies in my opinion

Fuck those oppressor griefers, that's when you get out and go full T-800 on their ass.
R B yeah haha
That's when you go Terminator 3 on them and pull out the machine gun
I'd forgotten about how cherry red that motorcycle was. For a second I thought this was Terminator 3.
Is nobody going to talk about the character error of the T-800 driving the motorcycle with the light on?
On most motorcycles the headlight stays on any bike made after 78 is supposed to have this feature though I could be wrong
I don't think he really cared at that point. It probably felt like a cat when it has a mouse cornered, he couldn't think about anything else other then to kill.
For Kyle, it was a waste of pipe bombs. Why was he expecting to land a clean hit to the T-800? It was clearly riding a motorcycle. And the fact that it could easily evade those. I know i know. The plot wanted it.
Probably because doing so from up close would have been way too risky, especially with the Terminator being armed, and all too. Trying to get him from a distance first was the safest course of action at the time, even if it was a lot tougher to do so from afar though.
Those pipe bombs have enough force to detonate a tanker truck and blow the Terminator in half. Given how close the explosions are to the Terminator during the chase, surely the shrapnel would pop the tyres or make the Terminator lose balance, at the least? Not that I'm complaining mind you - this is still one of my favourite films ever!
The last bomb explod the T-800 leg...
There's a deleted scene where Sarah convinces Kyle to help her raid and destroy the Cyberdyne factory before it even has a chance to develop Skynet, and stop Judgment Day from happening; that's what the pipe bombs are for. Using them against the Terminator was done out of desperation.
@@JediPhoenix1976 Interesting, but one thing bothers me though - would it even be possible to level a factory with pipe bombs alone?
This has got to be one of the BEST remasters of this movie, it is CRYSTAL clear, top quality!
This is all practical and real so it ages perfectly. Amazing film. The Terminator owns!
The music makes the film look and sound like a cool video game

I love how this scene shows that Sarah can only let Kyle fight her battles for so long. For most of the movie, it’s Kyle and his quick thinking and resourcefulness that gets him and Sarah out of a jam, she’s just along for the ride, but once Kyle gets shot, Sarah has to step up and fight.
That’s not to say Kyle becomes utterly useless, since he’s the one that blew up the truck and arguably made the factory chase much easier by slowing the T-800 down.
Sarah really comes into her own in this scene and that’s why it’s one of my favorites.
For me, she shows signs of becoming tougher since she jumped into the car almost at the same time as Kyle. It's like she started knowing what to do. Also she handed Kyle the bomb first, start thinking proactive, not just sitting there for him to help
