It is not possible to be sure of this, because unlike the 600 series, the 800 series tends to restart the system in case of excessive heating or electrical failure (this has already been explained in the terminator series sarah connor chronicles) When the T-888 is overloaded by external damage, and soon after it goes into reboot, what has already been said was around 60 seconds..

You know what I love most about this movie? Sarah Connor's vulnerability. I love that she was written as a waitress in her 20s with no particular ability to survive the events in the movie. The character finds her strength and her courage through good storytelling and character progression. It's more believable than how they would write her nowadays. If she was perfect to begin with, it gives her character no room to change and grow. What I absolutely love about T2 is Cameron flips the script and writes her as a person who survived the first film and became too hard and distant. Her arc is reversed. When she is unable to kill Miles Dyson, she discovers her humanity and vulnerability again. She decides she cannot kill a man in front of his son and that there are some things she wont do to prevent judgement day. It is fucking epic level storytelling.

@Jeff Clark I was 12 when T2 came out. Seen it opening weekend. I think having the T1000 OP was good. Made you keep wondering how they would beat it. Same as part 1 . You had a regular human taking on a killing machine that seemed indestructible. You are right that both movies did have a different tone. T1 definitely had a horror movie feel. Where as T2 was more scifi action. I always felt T2 was the superior movie tho. Better acting, better effects, better soundtrack. Story equality as good as the original. I will always love both tho. T2 was also rated R. So to say it was made for teens is inaccurate. Or else it would of been pg13 like T4 .

Every time I see these clips, (this is the fourth one in a row) it just reminds me how The Terminator (1) definitely feels like an 80s horror movie. Its an absolute classic. The look, the feel, and DEFINITELY the music all add to that, for me.
Oh, and I will NEVER forget the first time I saw this, i was 6 years old, and when he came out of the fire as a robot, it just blew me and my whole families minds! Never seen ANYTHING like it up to that point.❤

This is my favorite Terminator movie. T2 was the best film of the franchise b/c the story had more depth to it, but I favor this one more. This film has a horror movie vibe. Like for examples the arm and eye surgery seen, Reese's nightmare flashback of the Terminator infiltrating the resistance's hidden bunker, the tanker foot chase and the T800 chasing down Sarah and Reese in that factory. Plus this T800 model was extremely intimidating(huge stature, never smiled, no eyebrows in certain scenes, popped eye zombie look), rarely spoke and had a more badass look carrying both a shotgun and a assault rifle simultaneously while sporting cooler looking sunglasses and hair style. This T800 model is what a Terminator should be. An ultimate unstoppable badass killing machine with no regard of fear, remorse, or pity.

T2 was where things became too convoluted. The simplicity of the plot and the love story between Kyle and Sarah was unique. Also the circular logic of Kyle begetting John was a wonderful, self-enclosed paradox. Plus the idea in T2 of a robot finding its humanity had already been done before in Robocop.

T2 couldn't have been a more different movie to The Terminator. One is a relentless horror thriller, the other is the touching story of a boy and his pet Terminator. It baffles me how people rank both so closely without realizing how wildly different they are.

I really love the fact that the make-up in this movie was suposed to look "terrific" since the terminator is the bad guy, and besides this was supposed to be kind of an Horror Movie. While in the second one even if the wounds on his face are worst than here, they put effort on try to make it look so cool.
